RE: Stagecarriage of Grangetown - S830OFT - 19 Jul 2019 What's happening with service X8 now then? Another independent if not the council if I had to make a guess. RE: Stagecarriage of Grangetown - omnicity4659 - 19 Jul 2019 Or nobody? Not all commercial routes get replaced. You never know what goes on behind the scenes. If the resources dry up, then it doesn't matter how much effort the staff put into something - the money is not there. RE: Stagecarriage of Grangetown - SnarledComic1 - 22 Jul 2019 From what I've heard they may have only let some drivers go with a few staying on. Seems like they're just trying to slim the company down to a point where it can't operate. I expect a few more twists to this saga. Seems like they're just trying to slim the company down to a point where it can't operate. I expect a few more twists to this saga. I've heard a few various rumours and like most things, I take them with a pinch of salt. However if cash flow is tight and school contracts have came to an end for the summer, then I can see why a surplus of staff may have been trimmed. Whether I agree with that sort of strategy is another matter. Regardless, it is a shame that a company who looked to be on the up and demonstrated some ambition, have hit some sort of buffer. RE: Stagecarriage of Grangetown - RBZ 5459 - 22 Jul 2019 There's been further confirmation this afternoon from Stockton Borough Council that the company has indeed ceased trading, as of today. Seems they've basically ran today getting peoples hopes up from what has been heard on the street..... Company has gone and the council inquiring with other bus ops for the slim chance of services being retained.
