Yup. Easily the best American Woman ever to wrestle in the WWF. For a short period in 1994/5, WWF decided to treat women's wrestling seriously and brought in talent from All Japan Women. I've posted some matches elsewhere in this thread. RE: Wrestling - MrFozz - 06 Mar 2015 Cant remember if it been mentioned here yet, have read Samoa Joe is having talks with WWE... I have a load of PowerSlam (and it's predecessor - Superstars of Wrestling) magazines dating from 1993 onwards. I'm trying to shift some of them on eBay. I also have a program from an event I attended in Walthamstow back in 1996 called 'Ultra Kaos '96' featuring ECW stars Sabu and Mikey Whipwreck on their first UK tour. I may scan and post this if I get the chance. RE: Wrestling - MurdnunoC - 15 Mar 2015 As promised - my program from Ultra Kaos '96. Because the program is in black and white I scanned it using 'black and white text' rather than the 'colour photo' settings I usually use. Looking through the program, it appears I was wrong in saying it was Sabu and Mikey's first UK visit. Sabu had previously appeared in the UK in 1995 however it was Mikey's UK debut. No. Just an indy-fed who brought a couple of imports over from the States. Despite being called the 'European Wrestling Association' I don't think they managed to run outside of the Greater London area. To be honest, I think they only had three shows: the initial one with Sabu; UltraKaos '96 which was the one I attended; and a third named 'St Valentine's Massacre' - featuring Sabu and the UK debut of RVD - held in February 1998. The UltraKaos show was available on YouTube but I can't seem to find it now. Depending on where the camera was positioned, there may be footage of me at ringside during the main-event. RE: Wrestling - Malarkey - 17 Mar 2015 The Rock will be guest starring on a New TV Show on Spike TV called "Lip Sync Battle" on April 2nd, sneak preview on link below. http://fansided.com/2015/03/16/dwayne-johnson-takes-lip-sync-battle-to-a-whole-new-level-video/ Has anyone been watching WWE since the Royal Rumble, what do you think of the Build up to Mania, personally feel it has been quite dreadful to be honest minus the Promos by Bray Wyatt on the Undertaker, other than that and the battle over IC Title it has been pretty lackluster if im honest, I was expecting a lot more out of the Sting vs HHH Feud in terms of Face 2 Face Confrontations, Sting looked in excellent shape on RAW last night when he come to Ortons aid against The Authority, the man in my opinion could Wrestle beyond Wrestlemania if he wanted to do so, a feud with Wyatt heading into Summerslam would be awesome. Reigns vs Lesnar, Rusev vs Cena, The Bellas vs AJ/Paige I really have zero Interest in and the feuds have been boring to watch, unless of course you enjoy watching some of the Fanny Shots the Camera has been getting as of late during the Divas Matches, The whole patriotic bollocks with Rusev has become as stale as Cenas Gimmick, only shinning light in that feud in Lana, as for Reigns and Lesnar well we all know what going to happen there now dont we, need I say anymore, lets hope for a Rollins Cash In at Mania if not the following night on RAW, Speaking of which I almost forgot about Rollins vs Orton didnt I, to be fair that hasnt been to bad to watch if I am honest, but WWE should of bought back Orton sooner than they did, and finally I couldnt give a stuff about the Andre Battle Royal. I really can't argue with any thing you've said here. Triple-H and Sting really holds no appeal to me. As I've said elsewhere in this thread why are they wrestling? What possible issue could Sting have with HHH (or vice versa)? They briefly wrestled for the same company (WCW) back in 1994/5 but Trips was a jobber while Sting was at the top of the card. Aside from that, their paths have never crossed nor has it been explained why one has beef with the other. Call me old-fashioned, but I like a wrestling promotion's top feud to have some credible storyline attached. Even though Reigns is the alleged babyface in his feud against Lesnar (and Heyman) it is clear that the fans want to cheer Lesnar and who wouldn't? Lesnar is a monster who dominates while Reigns comes across as a geek. As Lesnar is gone after Wrestlemania it seems obvious that Reigns is getting the belt. Unless Rollins cashes in and wins the belt - Reigns' tenure as WWE Champ is going to be interesting. Can't wait for the backlash on the post-WM episode of RAW. RE: Wrestling - Malarkey - 17 Mar 2015 (17 Mar 2015, 7:58 pm)MurdnunoC wrote I really can't argue with any thing you've said here. The whole story behind Sting vs HHH is that Sting is the last active wrestler of WCW that is still alive and kicking, the Announcers and HHH in his weekly forum with Micheal Cole have put it across as Sting seeking revenge on HHH for helping put WCW out of Business 15 Years Ago, And that Sting thinks HHH abuses his power and needs to be taken down, which is really the only way WWE could of put the storyline together had they not opted for a Sting vs Taker match. As I said previously in regards to Lesnar vs Reigns, I do hope for a Rollins Cash In, but thinking about it if Lesnar is on his way out of WWE then where does that leave Heyman, a potential double cross maybe as to be honest Reigns could with a Mouthpiece as his Promos are just awful, and Heyman fits the bill perfectly, either way both feuds could with a bit of added spice and plot twist to make it more intriguing, WWE really need to pull out all the stops on the go-home episode of RAW and Smackdown next week before Wrestlemania. I assume they own it as a 'production theme'. Although he did drop it towards the end of WCW, in favour of Metallica's Seek and Destroy. But even that explanation is pushing it. Apart from the fact both Steiner and Jarrett are still going at it, why wait fifteen years to get revenge on someone who 'helped'*put your employers out of business? You'd think Sting would have gotten over it by now. *It's debatable how much influence HHH had in WWE when WCW was still in business. Lets not forget, HHH played second fiddle to both Austin and The Rock during the attitude era. Undertaker was above him at this point too. RE: Wrestling - Malarkey - 17 Mar 2015 (17 Mar 2015, 10:02 pm)MurdnunoC wrote But even that explanation is pushing it. Sting over the years has had numerous chances over the years to join WWE, Particularly during his TNA Days but never did until now, there was apparently quite a few times where he and Vince spoke and a Deal was close, but there was a few minor things they couldnt agree on, what they were I dont know, likely to be his paycheck I would guess. Thinking about HHH had zero influence on WCW going out of Business to be honest, As he spent the Majority of the time out Injured. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_WWE_pay-per-view_events#2001 From looking at wiki HHH would injured himself during a Match on RAW (21/05/2001), Tearing his Quad, which was the night after the Judgement Day 2001 PPV, which then meant he missed the entire WWF(E) vs WCW/ECW Feud which as we know put both companies out of Business, HHH didnt make his In Ring Return until (07/01/2002) on RAW, 3 Months after WCW went out of Business. Furthermore Sting didnt feature at all during that time either as WWE Purchased WCW in March 2001, with Sting vs Flair being the last Main Event of WCW Nitro, after that he sat on the sidelines until the expiration of his then AOL Time Warners Contract despite constant discussions about working for WWE, during which the feud between WWE/WCW was showing on Television, Instead he went to WWA (World Wrestling All Stars) in 2002 before joining TNA in 2003. So in reality what I said above in my previous post which has been stated as the reason on RAW is complete and utter bollocks, which makes zero sense as neither were around at the time of WCW going out of Business Storyline wise, unless Sting sees it as with HHH being married into the McMahon Family then he is therefore responsible along with HHH being the last remaining active Wrestler of that time, looking at it, it looks like WWE have booked it as an "End of an Era" Match like they did with HHH/Taker at Mania a few years back, with it this time being the last of WCW vs the last of WWE from that time. RE: Wrestling - MurdnunoC - 18 Mar 2015 Just been thinking... The last piece of WCW Merchandise I bought was in 1994. If I had have bought more merchandise then perhaps WCW would still be in business. By not buying more merchandise I helped WCW go out of business. I wonder if Sting will come after me next? Better put what I learned at those four wrestling training sessions I attended in 2004 to good use. RE: Wrestling - MrFozz - 18 Mar 2015 (18 Mar 2015, 8:42 am)MurdnunoC wrote Just been thinking... He was 35. Perro suffered fatal injuries during Friday night’s match in Tijuana. Reports indicate a ring rope snapped into his throat or head, and he fell to the mat unconscious. It was originally believed he was just selling, but he’d actually been knocked unconscious. Perro was rushed to the Del Padro hospital, and pronounced dead early Saturday morning. It's also worth noting that Perro had a cancer scare a few years back which resulted in doctors removing a benign tumour from his stomach. He was advised to take a year to recover but, like most wrestlers, he was back within two months of his operation. I was always entertained by Perro's antics. He was a superb heel who was immensely charismatic. The likes of Perro Aguayo (and Ultimo Guerrero) were responsible for Mistico's (Sin Cara v.1) rise to the top. Without such talented rudos to work with it's debatale how he'd fare on his own, with or without family connections in CMLL's front office. He was also partially responsible for this iconic shirt - a piece of merchandise I always wanted but never owned: ![]() RIP Perro Aguayo RE: Wrestling - Malarkey - 21 Mar 2015 (21 Mar 2015, 6:25 pm)MurdnunoC wrote Here's what CubsFan had to say about this tragic incident:Just been reading this maybe tried for Manslaughter, with many pointing the finger at Rey Mysterio. I think it's unlikely that Rey Mysterio will be tried for Manslaughter. The story has attracted world-wide attention (as videos of the incident are available online) and many news outlets are putting two and two together and jumping to the wrong conclusions. Having viewed the video, it appears that Perrito died upon positioning himself for the 619. Rey barely touched him. Rey must be inconsolable in aftermath of these events - I don't think pointing the finger of blame at him is likely to do anyone any good. Here are a few more updates from CubsFan www.luchablog.com Updated (2:00): Wrestling Observer says the doctor at the hospital called the injury as “cervical spine trauma”, believed to come from one of the two impacts of the rope into his throat. The doctor was unsure which one, though it appears it’s more likely the first.
