So they won't be done to the same spec at 4653? I think having uncomfortable seats for a long journey is unacceptable.

I give up! Can nobody get what I'm hinting at - 4660-4 will be refurbished, their current seats (which are the same as in the Pulsars just with headrests rather than holders) will be re-trimmed into the current Arriva moquette of two-tone blue squares as found in the Pulsars.

RE: Arriva North East - Latest - robisdave15 - 02 May 2014

I got it! Love the Ommis and pleased they are to be dobe, disappointed Redcar are losing theirs but hey ho, got them on the X66 and I read that Stockton are keeping theirs, which I guess could benefit from a respray.

I'm not. He's quite right!

(01 May 2014, 4:55 pm)Kuyoyo wrote 1766's move is ahead of the 168 moving across to Belmont from Classic.

Further PVR allocation changes are as followed:
Stockton
28 and 29 swap over - 28 is now allocated Prestiges and 29 Cadets

Ashington
35 allocation is now split - 3 workings for B10BLEs (those to be upgraded to Streetlites later in the year), and 3 for DAF DB250
X22 now down for 4 deckers (DAF DB250) and 2 singles (B10BLEs)

Durham
6/42 remains interworking (no mention of a 42 board) - 10 boards are allocated Pulsars while 3 are down to be allocated DAF DB250s

Jesmond
No chance

Redcar
Change to X3 and 81 - 2 81 boards now down as OmniCity worked while 3 X3 boards are allocated Pulsars

No chance of what?!

Think he meant no change?

RE: Arriva North East - Latest - JoshP - 02 May 2014

We really need to move on from this HOURLY bashing of the X93 it is so boring now. It's like the 'Latest Category' is now the 'Lastest rant about the X93 category'.

The Darlington NHS Solo's have been Debranded and are now plain white. They are probably due to be repainted asap.

RE: Arriva North East - Latest - robisdave15 - 02 May 2014

I have been a little critical here, particularly of our friends at Redcar? In fairness some if it was kinda 'deserved' but here is not the place to air these opinions and also it's quite right to look at the bigger picture before giving voice. Tyresmoke has been good, via the PM system, in answering some questions and giving me a little bit background in what's going on, and I thank him. It's now a period of transition in a number of areas with new fleet arriving and such like; I'll be watching with interest what goes on, particularly down here on the X93, X4. In the meanwhile I'm doing what Richard says and stopping the backstabbing and moaning.

The worst part about it is much of it is well deserved! The amount of communication behind the scenes is a lot more than the moans on this forum I can say that for sure... It has resulted in some improvements that we see today in that the X4 gets solid Pulsar allocation including Whitby's share. Redcar can no longer get away with giving them all the crap they don't want.

RE: Arriva North East - Latest - robisdave15 - 02 May 2014

Thanks for that Scott. Haven't said I won't moan but let's just see what happens over the summer? Have commented already about the X4/4 ? Sure they are gonna struggle with the loadings on that? The Streetlites are 44 sweaters, right? And what about the timings? On paper they look fine, but a busy day in Whitby, sun blazing out of a blue sky? You get the picture?

RE: Arriva North East - Latest - robisdave15 - 02 May 2014

Just out of curiosity what is the total PVR for Redcar / Whitby? I made it 54 which seems like a tough call for them? Now gonna try and match the actual fleet against the number they need?

Winge away.
You are a paying passenger and this a forum to let your steam out.

Can't say that everyone will appreciate it, but that's their problem.

RE: Arriva North East - Latest - robisdave15 - 02 May 2014

Appreciate that Andreos. Right I need a bit of help here guys, please. From the PVR requirement for both Redcar and Whitby I made the total 54 ? Have listed all the vehicles I think they have and got to 67 ! Obviously I don't know without checking if any of these are VOR or some such but as things stand, by my calculations they should meet their PVR's without any problems and everything should meet allocation? Obviously this doesn't happen but this ain't a criticism, just interested.

RE: Arriva North East - Latest - tyresmoke - 02 May 2014

Redcar PVRs are pretty simple now, the 63 has 14 (upped one in February) which is allocated Temsas, the 22/64/64As all interwork taking 15 buses, allocated as 6 DAFs and 9 Darts. The X4 is split between Redcar (5) and Whitby (3) using 8 VDL Pulsars and the X3 gets the 3 Pulsars remaining plus 2 Scanias to make a total of 5. This leaves the 81 with 2 Scanias and 2 Temsas (total 4).
The Whitby towns are now 2 Darts, with the 2 Solos for the Park & Ride and the Sainsburys Dart. 5 deckers are used on the X93 of course.

Total
63 - 14
22/64 - 15
81 - 4
X3 - 5
X4 - 5/3
X93 - 5
94/95/96 - 2
S1/S2 - 1
171 - 2
This should give a total for Redcar of 43 and Whitby 13, 56 altogether.

RE: Arriva North East - Latest - robisdave15 - 02 May 2014

Yep, thanks for that Scott. So now given they should have : 18 x Temsa
12 x Pulsar
15 x Dart
5 x Ommicity
3 x Prestige
3 x MPD
2 x Solo
3 x ALX300
6 x B7 and
2 x E400 equal to 69 vehicles, they should, in theory, meet their respective PVR'S / allocations with ease. Obviously I can only go by what I can recall about the fleet at Redcar, some of these will be VOR no doubt and others off for engineering? Other than that it just seemed to be an interesting exercise as opposed to handing out my grief!! Cheers for any replies guys.

Is there any news on the Temsa movement situation yet or is this out of the window now and they're staying at Redcar?

Staying at Redcar now, considering Darlington are now getting 4648-51/5 from Redcar.

RE: Arriva North East - Latest - robisdave15 - 02 May 2014

Following on from what I was saying / doing earlier the consist of vehicles to meet the PVR for both Redcar and Whitby should be :
TEMSA - 4701 through to 4720 with 4708/14 being the ones destroyed by fire
PULSAR - 1429 through to 1440
MPD 1101 to 1105 , 1737,1739, 1743 and the one used for Whitby Sainsbury (fleet number not
known)
DART - 1305/6/7/8 and 9
1638/51/53/54/55
SCANIA OMMNI - 4648/49/50/51 and 55
PRESTIGE - 3041,3042 and 3044
ALX300 - 4092/4/5
E400 - 7501 and 7502
B7 - 7484,5,6,,8 and 9

think that's it but I am going from memory and would appreciate input from the members on this. Thanks.

ALX400 7466 was being towed through Ashington earlier.

Information on what happened would be appreciated.

Broke down on the X21 at the junction- rather inconveniently- before Hartford bridge (on the way to Newcastle) shown on the live map as 30 minutes late at around 1.30 Smile

RE: Arriva North East - Latest - robisdave15 - 03 May 2014

Thanks for the info Scott, I'd missed a couple and the Whitby Solos I think? So given this healthy number of vehicles based there they should meet their respective PVR and allocation targets with ease shouldn't they?

RE: Arriva North East - Latest - VolvoMarkII - 03 May 2014

It would appear that the fact Redcar have a spare % allocation that is almost double any other depot, the Arriva management are trying to give them some breathing space and tools to get themselves sorted!

Commendable, but definitely should not be long term as we all know how Redcar will get used to it...

I calculate Redcar & Whitby with a total 68 buses.
A PVR needed of roughly 59,leaving 9 spares....
Other depots seem to have similar no. of spares but have bigger fleets.
I think they should be able to manage!

I seem to remember this happening before................hmmmm.........but before they had a much newer fleet than they've got now. History repeats and all that.

RE: Arriva North East - Latest - robisdave15 - 03 May 2014

A lot of people out there seem to know how Redcar "operate?" Perhaps things will be better now they've had a shake up? I've said I'll reserve judgement for now but if they mess up then, criticism where its due.

RE: Arriva North East - Latest - robisdave15 - 03 May 2014

Just as a point of "interest", I wonder if Arriva have allowed extra running time for the B7's to climb the hills on the x93 route? Nice buses and all that, better than the E400's but still poor on the climbs. Came out of 'Boro on 7486 and despite a run at Ormesby Bank it was flat to the boards way before the top! Gonna want some sensitive driving over the summer I reckon.

RE: Arriva North East - Latest - robisdave15 - 04 May 2014

So according to what I can see/read Stockton has a PVR of 67 against, to the best of my memory/reference to the flret lsits of 67 vehicles?
22 x Pulsar
6 x MPD
24 x Cadet/Centro
13 x Prestige
4 x Ommnicity
Am suspecting I'm wrong somewhere here? Either that or it's a challenging task down at Boathouse Lane meeting the PVR / allocating vehicles? Over to you guys, am sure Scott will fill in the blanks?
