The full list of meetings is:

If you want to go along you’ll need to register in advance by emailing necadevolution@newcastle.gov.uk stating which event you would like to go along to.

If you can't go along you can still give your views by filling in the online feedback form.

Remember you can keep up to date by following neca on Twitter at www.twitter.com/NorthEastCA
I'll be at the Durham meeting if anyone else is heading along.

Not sure it compares to the Central Motorway plans as suggested like.
If you are unaware, this is a brill site http://pathetic.org.uk/features/tyneside/

RE: Lord Adonis publishes NELEP North East Independent Economic Review - JakeSavage - 16 Oct 2015

Very good site is pathetic motorways. And the Tyneside story really does underline how "motorway mad" the city was to have been, before its policy change in favour of metro development.

Be interested to know how others view the plans for Percy street - seems to imply there'll never be a queue to the car parks....!

Hmm the real problem bit is the A19 flyover between Middlesbrough and Norton rather than north of there but obviously that's going to be a harder one to solve.

It may ease the congestion heading northbound, but can't see how it will help southbound traffic for the reasons you mention. That bottleneck at the flyover is going to be there, whether the Billingham bypass has two lanes or three.

Another link to improving road and rail links. When will it actually happen?

(30 May 2017, 8:03 pm)Adrian wrote A shame that appear to be going straight for greenfield destruction mind.

Someone from N Tyneside council appeared on Radio Newcastle the other day.
From what I could gather, he said that the plans are based on statutory legislation, that gives them more power and control over developers. This includes improving or introducing links to public transport and ensuring the developer pays.
