Quite like them tbh.The 20 switches drivers on its way to South Sheilds I believe. So they could do a 20 South Sheilds - 26 - 20 Sunderland . Quite like them tbh. I think it's less of the fact the conversion hasn't gone well and more that there probably just isn't the funds to finish the rest of them. And, as I've said before, being a fan of EVs, I actually prefer them with the hybrid system! Quite like them tbh. I'm not sure they've been dumped on services that don't really need them? The conversion of service 16 from single-deck to double-deck allowed the withdrawal of the scholars 816 service (which has always historically duplicated the 16), allowing a cost saving to be made. It's also permitting the cascade of 4x Euro 6 double-deck buses to services which need to be Euro 6 (i.e. one board on services 26/50 due to capacity issues on one journey on the latter service, and one board on service 25) and/or provide a more adequate number of spare buses which are Euro 6 and of a high quality for customers. Get the first one right, doing the job it needs to do, then yes, going forward, they'll likely be converted on failure of the Hybrid unit and/or other major components. If 9 Streetlites were freed up by the new electrics then you'd still be a couple short to meet the 26/50 PVR - unless the stipulation would be for just the 8 vehicles funded by the council to be replaced, in which case that would be achievable.I wold think the displaced Streetlights will end up on the 25 as this route will need euro 6 buses on it. Not sure what the PVR is. Not sure what the PVR is.PVR is 6 with atleast 1 double decker. Sometimes their is 2 or 3 on though. There also have some Angel Streetdecks on them, in the morning. The rest of the displaced Streetlights will probably be spares maybe 1 at cl and the rest at riverside to cover services entering Newcastle. Aye that's fair but argubly the 25/26/50 wouldn't need the Euro 6 buses if there wasn't emission mods in the first place and could use older buses so the newest buses are better used elsewhere at the same time. There's enough Versa's around to do the work at Chester Le Street (8307 - 8309 / 8319 - 8328). Imagine they're going to be doing those routes. Apart from the longer 63 plate Versa's can see them all moving out of Riverside as they don't really need them anymore. RE: Replacing Washington's Omnicity's - ASX_Terranova - 22 Nov 2021 They need a few more doubles on the 50 btw, people were having to stand on an onmicity this afternoon. RE: Replacing Washington's Omnicity's - 54APhotography - 22 Nov 2021 Without Dupes, buses are rammed again at school times, and zero respect, maskless in the majority. Not just at school times, and not just buses. I took a short Metro ride from Wallsend to the town on Sunday and that was rammed too. Seems to be a few more wear face coverings on the Metro, but still in a tiny minority at that. RE: Replacing Washington's Omnicity's - 54APhotography - 23 Nov 2021 Seems to be the case everywhere, this will just run and run. Metros seem to be doing quite well, and the busr journey's I've made recently all show decent returning numbers. Of course the amount of services missing altogether has impacted there at times. |
