351 - Newcastle to Whitley Bay
359 - Killingworth to Whitley Bay (via Murton)
335 - Killingworth to Hadrian Park.

From my maths, this could be done with 5 buses. I don't really see any need for the section beyond Hadrian Park on the 335 if 359 can serve Murton.
Wonder if GNE would bid for these especially given some commonality with the 354 and 359?

Wonder if the 'unpopular' move will be to axe service from Morwick Road and Landsowne Terrace given the proximity to the 1, 317, 353 and 354?

In essence though.....Billy Mill Avenue and Chirton Green is covered by the 1. If Lansdowne Terrace badly needed a service, the 353/354 could cover that?

So if the 335 is up for tender. Is this the full route or part. Be strange to see if they cut it to work with the 351/359

Looks like my prediciton was correct:

Bringing this thread back up - I wonder if the 335/351/359 will be withdrawn come March citing ‘low passenger numbers’ as the reason.

Considering they’re running practically empty, as no one knows they’re running if Nexus are using passenger data from the past and upcoming months to inform decisions that could be a concern.

335 maybe, the other two won't though as they'll leave areas completely unserved so they have a duty to run them.

Didn't stop Arriva, or GNE in the past for that matter.

They're all Nexus tenders, those 3.

Then they'd just give up the contract if they didn't want it.

Wouldn't it be easier if they merged the 335/359 into one full route

How do you work out the PVR for a service?

Every bus can do 60 minutes of a timetable an hour. So generally you need to work out how much timetable there is an hour.

So for something like the 335/351/359 it's as simple as adding all 3 routes up then doubling it to reflect both directions as they work in a line. Then dividing it by 60 as it's only 1 BPH. If it's more frequent then you'd times it by the number of buses an hour before dividing it.

For interworking services, you'd generally just add everything together so for the X7/X8/X9 at Blyth you'd just work out the time to do an X7, an X8 and an X9 and doubling that instead.
