A day after it was revealed a £20m bailout from the Government.

Huge profits across the Go-ahead Group (which owns 65% of the Govia train division).
£57m declared profit in rail division.

But only £57m on revenue of over £2billion, so not that much really, was it only 2.6%?

Obviously not enough to afford £20m of improvements on the Southern network.
800k towards new staff and they cant cover that out of £57m...

Has anyone seen Chris Grayling's latest suggestion?
Banning strikes on the railway.

Even is own MP colleagues are looking for him to be sacked from the role

On what grounds? You can't just outlaw strike action because it causes disruption. It's met the criteria for the worst anti-TU laws in Europe, yet still not good enough for the Government.

To be honest, I don't think it'd stop the Southern drivers anyway. It'd just mean more wildcat strikes. POA members walked out a few weeks ago, and they're banned from striking.

I have no idea.
There's various quotes kicking around, none of which do him any favours.

Quite how he would manage to implement it amongst employees of privately owned companies, is anyone's guess. If they were employed by the state, then thats obviously a different kettle of fish. But we all know that wont happen under a tory watch.

The man is a buffoon, his previous record and his letter to Johnson about TfL sums up his attitude.

Depends which headline you read I suppose. I've just linked a generic 'DfT gtr' Google search at the bottom of the page.
Hopefully it provides a balanced context.

This quote taken from one of the links is pretty interesting, particularly if it's an agreement like your shareholder link purports.
"These measures do not make GTR immune from further sanctions in the event of any subsequent failure to perform."

Poor imo, after what's going on at South Eastern. They should be stripped of everything but it's no surprise with the current lot in power.
