Would make a lovely change from the SPDs I've been having recently, that's for sure! Tongue

RE: Go North East - Latest - Michael - 23 Sep 2013

Didn't expect that like.. Wonder if we will see the M2/M3 in a new brand on Versa's from Saltwell Park?

Introduced? It's been around for years!

I'm thinking a new brand will be created for M2/M3- maybe rejoining MetroLink brand is another option. I think the Washington Street Shuttle brand maybe be dropped.

It seems daft having just the M2/M3 as Street shuttle, they should join the Metrolink brand but iv'e just being told by a friend.. (it was discussed on here last week or week before)... that the new M1 brand will be 4connect.. not confirmed.

Blue? Nice. Blue like Whey Aye 5-0 blue would be nice.

connect 4 would seem more likely if the M1 really is be renumbered.

In the midst of all the fun and games on here tonight, I shall interrupt by saying that there have been no reported fleet allocation changes on GNE's website this week.

They're 09 plates, therefore must be due their first repaint given they're coming up 4.5 years old?

Really looking forward to the Versas on the M2/M3. Just a shame I'll be moving about 30 mile away by the time they're there. Tongue The M2/M3 still gets quite busy on an evening, so it's struck me whether there'd be potential to run it commercially again once the 'entertainment complex' opens at the galleries, plus the new leisure centre.

RE: Go North East - Latest - Michael - 24 Sep 2013

Me to, better than the MPD's.

Changes for the M1 should be posted in the next few weeks - changes are planned (by VOSA) on the 20.10.13 (as someone kindly re-posted it from VOSA =D, (saves me going back)

I think GNE will want to let people know about the change early since its a new brand and a new number. - Alot of confused OAP's!

We have so many new buses coming and fleet changes... its gonna be a good year and start of a new year.

Looking forward to seen the new Waggonway Brand on the Scania's soon

Noted a mistake on the new 13/14 timetable - Langley Park Stringer Terrace
1801,1830,1902,2002,2102,2202,2304,2400

Can you spot it?

No doubt DCC will publish those times on the information board in good faith.
When a passenger complains they have been waiting all night for a bus...

HEXHAM’S date with national fame is getting even closer – and ideas are wanted to make sure the town makes the most of its role as the North-East’s centre for this year’s BBC Children in Need events.
Anyone who wants to take part in the monster telethon is invited to a meeting at the Beaumont Hotel on Wednesday, September 18 from 5pm to put their ideas forward.
The event is on November 15, when Pudsey Bear, along with BBC North-East television personalities Carol Malia, Paul Mooney and others will be broadcasting live from the Market Place.
The day is being coordinated by Hexham Community Partnership, whose manager Tamsin Beevor said: “Let’s see if Hexham can raise the roof with its fund-raising efforts this autumn.”
Hexham has seven hours of potential national exposure to show the town to its best possible advantage.
Among those expected to take part are North-East-based Horrid Histories children’s author Terry Deary, soldiers from Albemarle Barracks, children from local schools and the Tyne Valley Big Band.
A website is being developed and a Go North-East double-decker bus will be decked out in “Children in Need – Hexham” livery.
Stalls and other attractions are expected to take up much of Beaumont Street, the Market Place and Fore Street.
If you want to participate in the event on November 15, contact info@cdchexham.co.uk

I wonder if 3964 will be the double decker branded for the occasion, given that she's already in a yellow base livery and the Real Radio event has now finished? Wink

Blackberry's really aren't designed with a camera in mind, so the quality is somewhat poor.

Introducing the replacement MetroLink brand... "Connections 4".

Look really smart in that blue, i just hope the brand isn't gonna be rubbish

If it is the 4 (like BJ10 VUS, I'm sceptical), how many key points does it serve?

- Galleries
- Concord
- Heworth

Nah, not even GNE are that daft - surely?

I got the name bit wrong - but the 4 key points were (possibly) right!
Although Heworth surely needs to be replaced by Fencehouses :p

RE: Go North East - Latest - Michael - 24 Sep 2013

I looked back and founds Rob's post on changes for Washington.. before all these new rumors start, im gonna post what he said:

From Rob on page 72:

Basically yes, all of the buses arriving are different to those currently in service. The brand has to be updated to match the new style of the vehicle. If you are to ask if brand names will be changing, then it is a mixed answer. Some will change, some will stay the same. I'm pretty sure a few references to those changes and those staying have already been made on this forum. A little bit of searching and I'm sure the results can be found.

The Saltwell Park Versa will be making their way to the Washington Street Shuttle services M2 and M3. 4 will transfer to Chester-le-Street for 34 and 34A services, leaving the remaining 4 at Deptford for service 61, which I believe is due to leave the Drifter brand identity. Services W3 and W4 are to leave the Washington Street Shuttle brand, and will be operated by MPDs 603-606, with 1 spare older MPD being retained from the current batch of Washington Street Shuttle MPDs, I believe it will be 570.

The MetroLink is to be re-branded and will feature a brand new striking design on the Citaro's bright blue bodywork.

This gives Washington depot a newly designed MetroLink (at present) brand and a newly designed Washington Street Shuttle (at present) brand.

I do look forward to the rumors circulating regarding our bright orange Volvo B9s and the lovely flower patterns to be covering these vehicles.
