Trying to visualise this route - will the route go into Market Place and exit via Elvet Bridge?

It says 'near' the market place. I envisaged it using the road from Claypath that runs in front of the Prince Bishops car parks and on to Elvet that way.
Must admit to thinking initially that it was going in to the Market Place

I doubt they'll send it that way, as it's not great for navigating around pedestrians. I'd say it'll most likely be Leazes Bowl -> New Elvet -> Hallgarth St -> Science Site -> Josephine Butler college.

Scarlet Band have demonstrator Enviro200 MMC - YX65RLO on loan. Unsure on details as to what they'll use it on.

I'll keep an eye on the 58, since that's mostly E200 run (and often fills up), anyhow.

Apparently YX65RLO will be used on 113.

It's supposedly doing 113's, it won't be the 14:45 off Bishop Auckland as X315CBT is on that, didn't see what was doing the 13:45 off Bishop Auckland whilst waiting in Ferryhill because it was late and I stormed off onto a 7 home after the driver on the 110 refused to let me on because of the fact that the 110 and 113 run within 2 minutes of each other to Spennymoor running almost the same route except the 110 runs into ASDA at Spennymoor, so instead he just ran light to Ferryhill Comprehensive School to do the school 110 service at 14:45.

One of the Solos was the 13:45, which was 10 minutes late even though it was parked on layover at the bus station.

If anyone is looking for YX65RLU, it is on PR1 in Durham (and from the sounds of things, it was on there yesterday as well). It is just heading for Sniperley now.

I can confirm that Kx51ucu has also joined as it was sat at the depot today. Yj51xsr was sat as spare and later made an appearance at Bishop Auckland on the 85 to Barnard Castle. And Mx10dnu was in the pits at Scarlet band with a bunch of engineers in it. Also an Optare van made an appearance at the depot as well as Yj64dyf has been having some issues. W7jpt was sat at the bottom of the depot with parts of the engine removed.

Is there problems with the enviro's i use the 58 regularly in my Electric Wheelchair the solo's are tight to get into and the ride is uncomfortable, where as the E200 are easy to get on to and the ride is much better.

There nearly always seems to be one on the Chester-le-Street services leaving only 4 to cover a PVR of 3, seems like one often gets allocated to another service, for example the 110/111/112 circuit on Monday.

Mx10knu not Mx10dnu that was in the pits.

I've only seen DXL and either KNW or KNV on the 58, this week. There's been at least one solo allocated. Haven't seen the other KN* E200 for a while.

That said, the solos are much more comfortable from an arthritic bum on seat POV, but yes, the wheelchair spaces and manouvre room around them are tiny on some of them!

1 big problems is Durham Bus Station, and this affects all the Solo's. Since they have there front Wheels in front of the entrance Door there is not enough space to get a manual or electric wheelchair safely off or on as the bays are not wide enough + having a bollard on it doesn't help. I used too get on at Millburngate but that's shut for a further month. I always get off at the top of the bus station assuming the driver stops.

I just hope these things are taken into account when they build the shiny new bus station. The bays are a bit terrifying with a bouncy neurodisabled child and a load of shopping bags because I have to keep him from jumping off the kerb when he gets excited about a bus pulling in right next to us.

That would be a tad uncomfortable.

Noticed that the problems with the blinds in their E200s seem to be spreading. Thought KNW was fixed, but it was worse than ever, today. Another one seems to be having problems with the rear blind.

Would that be the reason why 58 has had Solo's recently however on Saturday there was 3 E200 on 58 blinds fixed ? People complain that the E200 are uncomfortable but me been in a electric wheelchair I find the Enviro's a lot easier to get on and off.
Durham Bus Station is a nightmare while North Road road works are still on been informed that it now May till completed

Aye - KNW looked fixed, last week, but was glitching like mad, this morning.

The problem with those E200s is the same as the arriva ones - the urban 90 seats. No padding whatsoever and I have HMS/EDS and fell and bruised my hip, a year or so ago - probably worse than bruised, but I've given up getting injuries investigated. After 45 minutes on one of those, I'm lucky if i can stand up again. If I'm using an arriva ticket to get to the Arnison centre, I time it so I can at least spend one leg of the journey with my knees to my chin on  dart on the 62 because it hurts less.

I'm doing better than I was 5 years or so ago, mind. I had a course of hydrorotherapy and the bus journey there and back (I think there were SPDs on the 63/64 back then) left me feeling worse than the hydrotherapy made me feel better. I just walked back into Durham, one day, because i couldn't face the rickety bus and knew I wasn't in time for a 7 from UHND into Durham. The musch newer fleet has made a big difference to me.

Unfortunately for SB, i don't think they can make such an investment.

Scarlet Band Motors - 2bagstew - 14 Mar 2017

You never know if they get the 58 back they might invest in some better buses, can't see it Or Another bus operator may get the contract.
