RE: Go North East: Upcoming Service Changes v2 - BusLoverMum - 23 Jun 2017 I think the number of people actually travelling all the way from Birtley to Heworth woud be fairly small, no? Besides, the 82 or its new variants doesn't make sense to use all the way to Heworth from Washington. The 4 is much more direct. RE: Go North East: Upcoming Service Changes v2 - Washingtonian - 26 Jun 2017 Noticed that there is a mistake on the new timetable for the 81/2/3/4. It has the number 83 as going to Heworth and the 84 as terminating at Concord, above where it shows the times of the first journeys Monday to Friday: - https://assets.goaheadbus.com/media/cms_page_media/3712/81_82_83_84_July2017_WEB.pdf RE: Go North East: Upcoming Service Changes v2 - Jamie M - 26 Jun 2017 (26 Jun 2017, 12:44 am)Washingtonian wrote Noticed that there is a mistake on the new timetable for the 81/2/3/4. The penshaw short was shown at least twice Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk RE: Go North East: Upcoming Service Changes v2 - S813 FVK - 27 Jun 2017 Just found this on the Go North East twitter page: https://twitter.com/X10Social/status/879735115366236160 Now if what they have heard turns out to be true, it would allow them to get out of the need for a tachograph by splitting the X9 at Peterlee and X10 at Dalton Park - perfectly coinciding with new vehicles too! I agree that it would appear odd if it was fully commercial. One of them going via Dalton Park by any chance!?, that seems to be rumoured a lot haha, Would be a good idea to divert one that way, in line with competition the X55, on a Saturday, least its a more regular service then and opens up new links. Edit: I did some digging and found these: Seems they had one in for the X9 or X10 to go via Dalton Park but was withdrawn........ Wonder if it'll be re-registered so its on one page so.... Newcastle - Middlesbough via Peterlee, Dalton Park instead of: Newcastle - Dalton Park Dalton Park - Middlesbrough RE: Go North East: Upcoming Service Changes v2 - S813 FVK - 13 Jul 2017 I think that it would be the X10 that would be sent into Dalton Park. The 2 registrations that you have posted make it clear to me that they are looking to split the services to avoid the use of a tachograph. The X9 can be split at Peterlee but the X10 can't be split from the Peterlee slip-road but can be at Dalton Park, as shown by Stagecoach's X55. The X55 doesn't stop on A19 sliproad anyway, nothing wrong with splitting the X10 on peterlee sliproad as there's a bus stop at this location. I may be wrong but i think there is criteria on which stops can be used when splitting services and i believe that the A19 sliproad does not meet this. The X55 is too infrequent to survive. The long one stands half a chance, but only for people who want to spend the working dqy in Newcastle on Satuday only. Most people wanting a bus to Newcastle for work wil have a GNE weeky or monthly pass, for that route. You could probably count them on the fingers of one hand and still pick your nose on both sides with the spares. Just hope diverting the X10 to Dalton Park doesn't cause chaos for the people who use it. Personal opinion is that the route should be every 30 mins on Sunday route (ie all trips via Peterlee, Billingham and Stockton) allowing the split at Peterlee Bus Station, thus omitting Dalton Park. Another solution for X10 could be to Run via A194(M), A182, Galleries, A182 to Hall Lane Estate then to Dalton Park. or X10 from Heworth via A194(M), A1(M), A183, A1052 to Houghton then via Hall Lane to Dalton Park. |
