(08 Sep 2023, 10:49 pm)Dan wrote 5292 was one of the buses in storage at Chester-le-Street after the depot closed - every bus in storage there had more or less every window smashed, some 600 windows had to be replaced (or buses scrapped as a consequence). Six-figure sum repair bill, thanks to vandalism from mindless youths (and, of course, nothing could be done about it).

GNE cut the windows out of another scrap Citaro to donate to 5292 and allow it to carry on in preservation.

I can't think of any other way the depot would be accessible as the walls were quite high even backing onto the dual carriage way,
