RE: Go North East: Major Service Changes July 2022 - busmanT - 21 Jun 2022 (21 Jun 2022, 2:56 pm)Dan wrote Presumably it means that there will be no changes to the route. Thanks for the confirmation Dan. (21 Jun 2022, 3:21 pm)Unber43 wrote So does anyone know of any fleet movements/changes, cos I think 39/A/B (why not just call it the 37/38/39) and 2/2A will be going into Park Lane both way or one? Aswell as the 38A.The 82 obviously hasn't been doing very well with GNE operating it! RE: Go North East: Major Service Changes July 2022 - DeltaMan - 21 Jun 2022 (21 Jun 2022, 2:37 pm)ASX_Terranova wrote Was trying to do a suggestion early today that replaced the r3/r4 in winlaton & hole in the wall, even that got me confused.Probably one for the suggestions but I am surprised NEXUS didnt think of splitting off the R5/R6 at Winlaton and merging it with the 12/12A to keep the routes seperate and easy to use as well as creating new links. The secured part between Winlaton and Ryton is covered by the R4 and I think it would save a bus. RE: Go North East: Major Service Changes July 2022 - MurdnunoC - 21 Jun 2022 (21 Jun 2022, 3:31 pm)Jimmi wrote The Prince Bishops Lites are presumably still to be repainted anyway given promotional material has shown the buses will be in a new livery (not yet adopted). They could be rebranded as the Sunderland and District Purple (or Violet or whatever). "You can float like a butterfly and sting like a bee, now that you've lost your bus from Houghton to Peterlee". RE: Go North East: Major Service Changes July 2022 - Unber43 - 21 Jun 2022 (21 Jun 2022, 3:32 pm)busmanT wrote Thanks for the confirmation Dan.Clearly but if GNE can't make it run successfully what chance do (i presume GCT) have? RE: Go North East: Major Service Changes July 2022 - ASX_Terranova - 21 Jun 2022 (21 Jun 2022, 3:32 pm)busmanT wrote Thanks for the confirmation Dan. Every time i see or use it theres people on it, but usually only Between Birtley and Washington. Timetabling the 50, 82, 84 so close together on the hour wont have helped either, this has been a issue even before sep 21. RE: Go North East: Major Service Changes July 2022 - Unber43 - 21 Jun 2022 Hopefully the timetables will be on by Friday RE: Go North East: Major Service Changes July 2022 - MurdnunoC - 21 Jun 2022 (21 Jun 2022, 3:40 pm)DeltaMan wrote Probably one for the suggestions but I am surprised NEXUS didnt think of splitting off the R5/R6 at Winlaton and merging it with the 12/12A to keep the routes seperate and easy to use as well as creating new links. The secured part between Winlaton and Ryton is covered by the R4 and I think it would save a bus. R5 is the Rowlands Gill/Burnopfield village service. R3/R4 is the old 616/617 between Blaydon and Rowlands Gill via Thornley Lane & Sherburn Towers (with a varied route between Blaydon and Winlaton and a detour into Winlaton Mill). It also operates between Blaydon and Clara Vale via the old 605/606 route (more or less). R6 is the Rowlands Gill to Winlaton via High Spen and Barlow section of the 616/617, continuing to Ryton via Stargate (I think it also goes along the Bypass and down Woodside Lane instead of going through Crookhill). Ha ha love it! RE: Go North East: Major Service Changes July 2022 - V514DFT - 21 Jun 2022 (21 Jun 2022, 3:20 pm)MurdnunoC wrote It says the services are being extended from Hadrian Park to Howdon and Holy Cross, so it is going a different way to what it has previously. People travelling to Wallsend from Holy Cross on the 41 will be travelling through Hadrian Park, Battle Hill and High Farm first. So its old old route when it was the 40/41 RE: Go North East: Major Service Changes July 2022 - Unber43 - 21 Jun 2022 60 is going to interwork with the 9& 61/61A on an evening it seems. Aswell the 24 going to hourly on a evening, it seems the 9 & 5 will interwork on an evening. With the 24 interworking with the 5 & 26 during the day, and the latter on an evening, presumably using streetlites. God knows what buses are going to run that & PVR. Hopefully the 39/A/B/38/2A/2(towards Silksworth) will move into park lane to provide better connections. 39/A/B they could use the current 73 stop towards Pennywell & stand N towards Doxford 38 can use stand E towards the Docks 2/2A can use Stand N towards Silksworth, this would be so much better for passengers RE: Go North East: Major Service Changes July 2022 - MurdnunoC - 21 Jun 2022 (21 Jun 2022, 3:58 pm)V514DFT wrote So its old old route when it was the 40/41 Wasn't the 40/41 a circular route? The route is this: Wallsend - Wiltshire Drive - High Farm - Battle Hill - Hadrian Park - Holy Cross. Holy Cross - Hadrian Park - Battle Hill - High Farm - Wiltshire Drive - Wallsend. I'm not sure whether it will be routed via Coniston Road and Windsor Drive; or via the Savoy Road area (or both) though. RE: Go North East: Major Service Changes July 2022 - Aaron21 - 21 Jun 2022 This situation with the Q3 confused QA/QB will operate different round Great Park Does that implement its gonna be. Q3 QA/QB or is its gonna be QA/QB. Is the Q3 getting withdrawn Is the Q3 being merged into two different routes Q3A/Q3B How's it gonna work then they leave Great Park. Will they still show QA/QB Is the Q3 following the same route back to Wallsend. Will it still go under the low bridge on the route back to Newcastle (21 Jun 2022, 4:03 pm)MurdnunoC wrote Wasn't the 40/41 a circular route?Does this add another bus onto the PVR or does it keep the same 3 required RE: Go North East: Major Service Changes July 2022 - ASX_Terranova - 21 Jun 2022 (21 Jun 2022, 3:47 pm)MurdnunoC wrote R5 is the Rowlands Gill/Burnopfield village service. The R5 was i think what was left over after the 714/715 (Stanley - Rowlands Gill) got withdrawn. There seemed to be a lot of M-prefixed services in these areas too, GNE operated practially all of them according to The Bygone Era RE: Go North East: Major Service Changes July 2022 - citaro5284 - 21 Jun 2022 (21 Jun 2022, 4:08 pm)Aaron21 wrote This situation with the Q3 confused Sounds to me like Q3 withdrawn and QA and QB will operate the same route to Great Park from Wallsend, then one goes one way and one goes the other round Great Park RE: Go North East: Major Service Changes July 2022 - MurdnunoC - 21 Jun 2022 (21 Jun 2022, 4:11 pm)citaro5284 wrote Sounds to me like Q3 withdrawn and QA and QB will operate the same route to Great Park from Wallsend, then one goes one way and one goes the other round Great Park QB or not QB, that is the question innit? Depending on the timings that could mean you end up getting the QA from Wallsend to great park but if you want to go back to Wallsend having to get the QB which could be confusing. RE: Go North East: Major Service Changes July 2022 - Aaron21 - 21 Jun 2022 Surprised they didn't renumber them the Q1/Q2. Don't understand why they have had to go with QA/QB. Sunderland Interchange is just a white elephant these days, unfit for purpose. Why divert the 39 series to park lane interchange , it’s going to add more costs to the bus company for increase pvr due to added running time, and also will save the bus company money for each bus going into the interchange. This is why stagecoach pulled out of the interchange due to the fee and added journey time and there own passengers still using g the bus stops on holmside and John St. Service 24 should do the same route as stagecoach E1/E2/E6 round the city centre Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk RE: Go North East: Major Service Changes July 2022 - Drifter60 - 21 Jun 2022 (21 Jun 2022, 4:17 pm)Aaron21 wrote Surprised they didn't renumber them the Q1/Q2. This is the QuayCity QA service to Great Park Or just give them a number, drop the Q? 17/17A as a random example. It seems to be an example of trying to move away from traditional numbers and have it just known it as the “QuayCity bus” RE: Go North East: Major Service Changes July 2022 - BFK - 21 Jun 2022 (21 Jun 2022, 9:58 am)Drifter60 wrote They also haven’t confirmed evening buses for South Hetton. The 35 is reduced to hourly on a evening so I’m guessing this means the current short 35’s to Houghton which then operate as the 55 to South Hetton will no longer run - with the one 35 that does operate going to Low Moorsley. Nexus are extending service 79A to South Hetton. It is on there website. I’m not sure I completely understand the hate for Sunderland Interchange? I suppose since GNE are saying the 39 is the main way to get Doxford International during the day, there’s a reason to put in back in the interchange - so people can interchange between buses if needs be. (21 Jun 2022, 4:42 pm)BFK wrote Nexus are extending service 79A to South Hetton. It is on there website. Thanks. Jimmi pointed it out earlier, I missed that. Hadn’t expected Nexus to step in to make sure an area in County Durham is still served!! RE: Go North East: Major Service Changes July 2022 - idiot - 21 Jun 2022 Will through tickets and guaranteed connections between 20 and 24 exist Dan? RE: Go North East: Major Service Changes July 2022 - Michael - 21 Jun 2022 No Sunday service to Beamish? - seems odd that. RE: Go North East: Major Service Changes July 2022 - BFK - 21 Jun 2022 (21 Jun 2022, 1:15 pm)Aaron21 wrote Odd that it mentions the 39A going to Houghton Le Spring only on the 55 part. But doesn't mentions it on the 39/39A changes at all Service 61A is to run evenings and All day Sundays. Will run from Sunderland to Murton via Ashbrooke, Leechmere ASDA, Grangetown then current 61 route to Murton. Basically covering for withdrawn services 38/38C between Sunderland and Leechmere ASDA. Then down to the Alexandra Roundabout at Grangetown, then as current 61 from Grangetown. (21 Jun 2022, 3:31 pm)Jimmi wrote I doubt the Prince Bishops brand would be retained for the 24 considering it's a brand centred on County Durham. 24 will presumably be unbranded especially if the rumours of interworking with services 5 & 26 are to be believed. 5425 is currently at Saltmeadows Road for repaint. Depending on the timings that could mean you end up getting the QA from Wallsend to great park but if you want to go back to Wallsend having to get the QB which could be confusing. Having just worked it out it would appear that in order to keep the timings evenly spaced at every 15 minutes between great park and st peters while running every 30 minutes to Wallsend the QA would have to run from Wallsend-st peters-great park-st peters and the QB would have to run the reverse. This would mean a PVR of 8. In order to have the QA run Wallsend - great park - Wallsend and the QB run at peters-great park-st peters only you would need a PVR of 9. *This assumes the same route is taken to Wallsend as previously RE: Go North East: Major Service Changes July 2022 - MurdnunoC - 21 Jun 2022 (21 Jun 2022, 4:48 pm)Michael wrote No Sunday service to Beamish? - seems odd that. Well, to be fair, everything was closed on Sundays back in 1913 and the 1950s respectively. The 8 will still serve Beamish on Sundays as it’s still operating CLS to Stanley only. (21 Jun 2022, 4:49 pm)BFK wrote Service 61A is to run evenings and All day Sundays. Then down to the Alexandra Roundabout at Grangetown, then as current 61 from Grangetown. They could have done that route on all journeys really, to save differentiating between evenings and daytimes. That way they could have said the 38 would be replaced in the main as it’s not like they need the 61 on the Grangetown to City Centre corridor between the 39,60 & 2. |
