Arriva North East: Latest News & Discussion - August 2016 - Jimmi - 24 Aug 2016 4644 is apparently the Omnicity on-loan to Redcar for Egton Show shuttle service 193 today. Arriva North East: Latest News & Discussion - August 2016 - Mark51953 - 24 Aug 2016 2602 and 2603 arrived at Selby this afternoon from the north East and will be used on York and Selby town services from as early as tomorrow Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk RE: Arriva North East: Latest News & Discussion - August 2016 - Kuyoyo - 25 Aug 2016 (22 Aug 2016, 7:07 pm)palatine3833 wrote 1412 was expected to transfer to Stockton, but is still in service at Durham, presumably because we have so many extra running boards today. We now have an extra 2 6s, 1 43, 1 49. The 46 is now standalone, as is the 48. Whether this will stay the same after the timetables revert to normal in a few weeks is anyone's guess. (22 Aug 2016, 8:50 pm)Mark wrote I can confirm 1474 has moved to Stockton for the duration of the additional workings instead of 1412. It seems Stockton's Durham transfer has changed again.....as 1476 is here on 9/27/27a today Arriva North East: Latest News & Discussion - August 2016 - Jimmi - 25 Aug 2016 1429 is now in Frequenta base livery, saw it heading south on the A1(M) just under a hour ago. RE: Arriva North East: Latest News & Discussion - August 2016 - Cock Robin - 26 Aug 2016 1429 not yet branded. RE: Arriva North East: Latest News & Discussion - August 2016 - L469 YVK - 27 Aug 2016 With a usual Sunday timetable being in operation tomorrow and BH Monday with the tall ships being on, could Arriva legally not interwork the 306 / 308 and instead just give them both a 22 minute layover at Haymarket? RE: Arriva North East: Latest News & Discussion - August 2016 - Cock Robin - 27 Aug 2016 4512 still going strong yesterday. RE: Arriva North East: Latest News & Discussion - August 2016 - David McGloin - 27 Aug 2016 Redcars sapphire X3/X4 next stop announcement has been updated with a new voice and lobster Inn stop now included in stopping points on coatham road RE: Arriva North East: Latest News & Discussion - August 2016 - omnicity4659 - 27 Aug 2016 (27 Aug 2016, 8:57 am)L469 YVK wrote With a usual Sunday timetable being in operation tomorrow and BH Monday with the tall ships being on, could Arriva legally not interwork the 306 / 308 and instead just give them both a 22 minute layover at Haymarket? Both services are running extremely late today, and 308s today have hit 90 minutes late. I don't think anything will stop the severe disruption. There is also a cycle race through parts of Northumberland, along the coast and via Cramlington so there will also be severe disruption from that too. RE: Arriva North East: Latest News & Discussion - August 2016 - DavidSBrough - 27 Aug 2016 People are complaining to Arriva saying that they should have put double deckers on all the 1s and 2s from/to Blyth but what people don't seem to realise is that there are only so many double deckers, Arriva can't put them on all the routes as there isnt enough. Arriva Blyth does seem to have an X12 double decker so they have at least one extra for this weekend. I do have to say Arriva Blyth could of planned a little bit better. Last night at 21:30 after the fireworks the bus station was busy but there wasn't any buses because Arriva were taken them off. Mmm, interesting point. Surely Arriva should have considered their ability to run their usual services that would incur increased demand at a time such as this. However, instead theyve tendered for nexus work and placed at least 4 deckers on the 900. Seems like commercial interest has gone over sensible planning for a major event and the loser is Joe public RE: Arriva North East: Latest News & Discussion - August 2016 - omnicity4659 - 27 Aug 2016 Like how Jesmond never swapped deckers for minibuses/saloons at Blyth like....5 people were the most I saw on local Newcastle routes on deckers. Newcastle played at home last night, would have been mayhem if Jesmond served up minibuses on their routes, when 49000 made their way to SJP. RE: Arriva North East: Latest News & Discussion - August 2016 - Designline - 29 Aug 2016 Not sure if it will happen but there is a double decker due to move to blyth while an 02 reg Volvo b7tl is to be refurbished to max standard as another spare. it was noted a transport vehicle magazine RE: Arriva North East: Latest News & Discussion - August 2016 - RobinHood - 29 Aug 2016 (27 Aug 2016, 2:53 pm)Cock Robin wrote When did it start stopping there?! It started when the service changes came in, as the 81 was taken off Coatham Road, the X3/X4 were revised to serve all stops on that bit, to compensate. Don't know about about a 02 reg one getting refurbed, But 7445/7446 were meant to be getting refurbished quite a while ago. RE: Arriva North East: Latest News & Discussion - August 2016 - omnicity4659 - 29 Aug 2016 Wherever these deckers are being sourced from, would be from a depot with an existing vehicle shortage... Might be Buses, with a certain short baldy fella from Haymarket creating duff gen. RE: Arriva North East: Latest News & Discussion - August 2016 - L469 YVK - 29 Aug 2016 For Today, why didn't Arriva just pay an extra driver or 2 to come in and run the 306 with a 23 minute layover at Haymarket instead of interworking it with the 308? Surely by the time fuel and wages were taken into consideration, it wouldn't cost much more than paying for all the overtime needed plus any other expenses acquired. And not just mentioning Arriva as the same goes for GNE and the 310 too. It wouldn't need a driver or 2, it'd need about 4/5 drivers. Delays were minimal today, with all buses running about 20 minutes late due to the Sunday timetable and passenger loadings. All interworking services were having delays including the 35/X21, where I was tracking a 35 running 25 minutes late due to the passenger loadings on the X21. Arriva North East: Latest News & Discussion - August 2016 - S813 FVK - 30 Aug 2016 7404 is at some sort of an event at Whitby with a fantastic MAX bouncy castle too. Delays were minimal today, with all buses running about 20 minutes late due to the Sunday timetable and passenger loadings. Wasn't the fact it was a Bank Holiday but the fact that the tall ships were on plus the usual bank holiday delays (some 306 / 308 90 minutes late), then at least an extra few drivers with a PVR increase of 1 wouldn't go a miss. Anyway, most Bank Holiday service despite not warranting a full Saturday service warrant somewhere in between. Given your example, the X21 / X22 deserves a 30 minute each frequency (upto every 15 minutes) plus the 35 still remaining hourly but forming additional journeys between Morpeth and Newcastle to combine with the X18 upto every 30 minutes.
