Both of these have age restrictions on the contracts RE: Arriva North East: Latest News & Discussion - February 2018 - upt50k - 16 Mar 2018 (15 Mar 2018, 2:16 am)Multi21 wrote Sounds like sour grapes from a washed up has been, I wouldn't take it to heart. I think the first reply is not in the spirit of this forum and off topic The meaning of sour grapes is acting meanly after disappointment. I will say that I was disappointed by my treatment at Darlington before I left after having treatment for cancer but I do not consider that I acted meanly by expressing an opinion as per the original post about staff shortages. I was a driver on x1 and have enjoyed bus driving over the years. I currently work for Garnetts and hope that they do not consider me to be washed up and are happy with my efforts From this info Mr. Wise will know that I am Colin Raine and he will understand my comment I hope this will bring this matter to an end Arriva North East: Latest News & Discussion - March 2018 - Mark51953 - 16 Mar 2018 2826 in Selby tonight Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk RE: Arriva North East: Latest News & Discussion - March 2018 - Andreos1 - 16 Mar 2018 (16 Mar 2018, 5:41 pm)tyresmoke wrote The newer Solos at Whitby are to be used on the 95, rather than Park & Ride... hence 7609/10 being on the P&R runs. I've no idea on the contract stipulations and restrictions, but two Solo's to cover that many parking spaces didnt seem to make too much sense. It was all down to the route NYCC stipulated. Arriva suggested to NYCC in the second year of operation that running all journeys via the P2 route was most logical, however it wasn't adopted. Unfortunately, the West Cliff variation is a political stipulation and the Solo has prohibited further growth (couldn't be any bigger due to the route it took) around West Cliff. For 2018, some obstructive parking spaces have been removed following consultation with residents, with DD operation now suitable around West Cliff. Goes to show, I don't think it has 'taken them this long' to realise. Probably taken longer to cut the red tape... That is exactly what I said to a member that’s on here, If Darlington are able to cover a Durham run then why aren’t they able to keep the X66, or better still just loan the drivers to Darlington, sure people want overtime RE: Arriva North East: Latest News & Discussion - March 2018 - S813 FVK - 17 Mar 2018 (16 Mar 2018, 11:31 pm)RobinHood wrote It was all down to the route NYCC stipulated. Buses have been pulled from part of Firth Moor again this afternoon "in the interest of public safety we will not be operating any services along fenby avenue due to a bus window being smashed." EDIT: the service 13a will be going down Geneva road then Harris street to Firth moor and the 13b will serve Harris street Geneva road. sorry for any Inconvenience RE: Arriva North East: Latest News & Discussion - March 2018 - Dan - 18 Mar 2018 2826 and 2831 now at Arriva Yorkshire. RE: Arriva North East: Latest News & Discussion - March 2018 - L469 YVK - 20 Mar 2018 (20 Mar 2018, 7:38 pm)Driver9*** wrote Early days yet but having 3 extra mins each way and not having those shitty electric buses on them should help. The timetable looks better but, I think adding the following would bulletproof the reliability (although the 306 PVR would also need an increase too): - North Tyneside Hospital > Billy Mill towards Newcastle = 1 minute (8 minutes) - Billy Mill > Willington Square towards Newcastle = 2 minutes (8 minutes) - Willington Square > Billy Mill towards Blyth = 2 minutes (8 minutes) - Billy Mill > North Tyneside Hospital towards Blyth = 1 minute (7 minutes) Also, would Arriva not consider running a parallel X38 running every 30 mins Mon-Sat and missing all stops between Billy Mill to Newcastle? Have E-mailed them in the past about it and they said it wouldn't save enough time but with the 308 now being run to 'manageable' times, it could provide a significant saving over the 308. 308 from Blyth to Newcastle (with ammendments above): 1hr 9mins 308 from Newcastle to Blyth (with ammendments above): 1hr 6 mins X38 from Blyth to Newcastle: 57mins (17 minutes between Billy Mill and Newcastle) X38 from Newcastle to Blyth: 54mins (17 minutes between Newcastle and Billy Mill) * Layover for X38 would be 5 minutes in Blyth and 7 minutes in Newcastle The X21 and 21 between Durham and Newcastle work well together with the X21 taking care of the punters who just want a quick journey whilst the 21 takes care of the hop on hop off punters as well as the ever popular CLS to Newcastle corridor. Don't see why an X38 wouldn't work and it wouldn't even need a decent vehicle type as such, maybe starting with a single decker with a few double deckers thrown in the mix later on if the peak time runs prove popular. RE: Arriva North East: Latest News & Discussion - March 2018 - Teessider2014 - 22 Mar 2018 1511 was parked in Stockton’s yard last night ready for run out so presumably transferred. Updated plan for cadets etc is; Frequenta Service 7 to be worked by pulsars with NSA 17/17A to remain Cadet/Centro. Any word on the possible destinations of the Solos currently on the 7? I think I noted in an earlier post the suggestion that a couple were going to, I think, Whitby, but I wasn't sure if that was speculation or an actual plan. RE: Arriva North East: Latest News & Discussion - March 2018 - Cock Robin - 22 Mar 2018 1511 instead of one of 1424-8?? Seems odd the 7s going from minis to Pulsars and the 17s keeping Cadets but at least I will still see/hear them in M'bro! Shame they hadn't dropped the Frequenta brand or they could have done some Pulsars up for the 7. Als 7632 another one of the new buses needs a new cab fleet number as it still says 1531. 1534 can hopefully keep the odd seat as it is funny and cozy as all the new buses are. And on the word of the new arrivals If anyone is interested the new buses ysualy pop up on the X7 X8 on Monday usualy the 8:00 X8 to newcastle |
