Anyway it’s rumoured that next year that them B5’s are going on there from the X9/X10 RE: Go North East: 2019/2020 Financial Year Order Predictions - deanmachine - 22 Dec 2019 (22 Dec 2019, 10:20 pm)michaelb wrote The B9’s have been on before but I’m not sure on how a B5 would do turning round Newbrough. Deckers have better turning than Citaros, as long as they can fit under the bridges they'll be fine, not as long and not as wide. It's the A69 that would be the problem if they can't deal with the A19. Possible new vehicles for crusader in 2021. Cant see any of the citaros being rebranded (apart from 63 plates) as they will no doubt start to be withdrawn in next few years. Also doubt 10s will get refurbed and more likely go end up replacing older DD like the 11 plates. E200 probably more likely for 12 and 57 to help meet CAZ in 2021. Possibly even Quaylinks RE: Go North East: 2019/2020 Financial Year Order Predictions - Michael - 27 Dec 2019 (22 Dec 2019, 10:38 pm)JP6004 wrote 58 getting electric buses in 2020. Some reason, i don't think they'll refurb anymore B9's, although i could be wrong! With the 6 and 12/12A interworking from January 26th, its possible they might get new buses, but hoping Blaydon Racers brand is dropped so its just GNE. I do hope we see new buses on the Quaylink, although, 23 is a high number for just 1 brand, maybe in the next few years, phasing them in so Q1/Q2 first, then the Q3? I was hoping we would see new buses on the 56, but its not happening, as its confirmed for repaint and a new brand "Newcastle Sunderland Citylink", probables looking at the start of January for those repaints to begin. Do hope its black and red... Honestly, not even sure where the B9's from Red Arrows would go? some for the 13/14/25?, rest in a spare role, replacing the Omnidekka's which in place, will replace the tridents/Vykings. B5's from X9/X10 could head to the X84/X85 within the next year too. The 14 Volvo B9s on the X1 are also receiving Euro 6 SCRTs, so will definitely be found on services in and around Gateshead and Newcastle (sorry cbma06!) Don’t think the remaining scanias will be held until mays X1 upgrade. The revised allocation for the 93/94 from the end of January will be 7x Euro 4 Versa - some of these are already being allocated since the withdrawal of 5220 and 5225. Wouldn't be surprised if 10 received new Streetdecks to keep fleets standardised with B9s possibly upgrading another single deck route/ replacing older DD RE: Go North East: 2019/2020 Financial Year Order Predictions - streetdeckfan - 29 Dec 2019 (29 Dec 2019, 2:53 pm)JP6004 wrote Yes MG has stated B5s will be cascaded to X84/X85. They're 2013 (just) so with a euro 6 upgrade they'd be allowed into Newcastle. I think if they put StreetDecks on the 10, they would have to be the 6 cylinder (I assume GNE still has an order in for one of them?). Well they can be placed on any service going into newcastle, so possibly some chester services, upgrading crusader, cascading to the 1 allowing hybrids to go on 50 etc RE: Go North East: 2019/2020 Financial Year Order Predictions - Stanleyone - 29 Dec 2019 (29 Dec 2019, 2:31 pm)Dan wrote The revised allocation for the 93/94 from the end of January will be 7x Euro 4 Versa - some of these are already being allocated since the withdrawal of 5220 and 5225.No sign of the order from wrightbus any time soon in that case. Interesting that it is route 58 to gain electric buses. I thought it would be the Quaylink routes. I understand the Yutongs are due in July. Judging by the recent mainly double-deck deliveries, with just the E200-MMCs for route 97 being an exception, it seems that some routes may have been double-decked to enable the Scania - Solars to be withdrawn. Think there been numerous comments made over the years that the 45,46,47 needs to be fully upgraded to DD, which will in turn lead to L94 withdrawals RE: Go North East: 2019/2020 Financial Year Order Predictions - streetdeckfan - 05 Jan 2020 (05 Jan 2020, 1:08 am)JP6004 wrote Just the 93/94 is being upgraded to DD, also down to frequency reduced to every 20mins. The issue is that most services need to be double deckers during peak time, but for the rest of the day they could probably get away with a Solo. The X21 for instance, during peak times the StreetDecks are crammed, but the rest of the day they're not even half full. (I'm on the X21 now and so far, I think the passenger count has averaged 10) But then you have the question is it worth it to fully upgrade to deckers and carry around the extra weight the rest of the day, or to have a few deckers that are on the peak runs with single deckers making up the rest of the PVR, like what Arriva do with the 6. Don't get me wrong, I love nothing more than having the entire upper deck to myself on a night, but how much extra fuel is that using (as well as the additional up front cost)? My point was it has been said previously; before the order was placed, that the red kite services need to be upgraded to full DD.
