What buses does the 1,1A,N1 and 28 and 29 currently use? I believe some of Brighton & Hove's new double-decks are due to be delivered next month. Service 1 is allocated Wright Eclipse Gemini 2 bodied Volvo B9TLs - most of them are 12-plates. Services 28/29 are allocated East Lancs OmniDekka bodied Scania N270UDs - these are 57-plates. I understand 03 and 04 plate East Lancs OmniDekka bodied Scania N94UDs are expected to be cascaded as a result. Would expect these to be the examples route-branded for services 48 (628-633) and 50 (601-03/05) as well as the other examples in the YN04 Gxx series batch. Photo on Twitter below: https://twitter.com/CityBusNewsPW/status/724646006109945856 Just six "Regency" branded Scania N94UD/East Lancs OmniDekkas remain: 679 - 684. These should be cascaded to other routes, to replace older examples of the same vehicle type. In other news, Scania N270UD/Scania Omnicity 715 (YP09 HWB) has now been sold to sister Go-Ahead opco Metrobus. RE: South East Bus Operations - Adrian - 08 May 2016 Mind, I'm impressed with the new 'Regency Route' branding that Brighton & Hove have introduced. It looks like they've re-upholstered the seats into purple too, given that they were the standard Brighton & Hove red, when I used this batch last year. ![]() ![]() ![]() Photos credit to flickr user Stuart Robert Barber. RE: South East Bus Operations - Andreos1 - 08 May 2016 Had a go on my first MCV bodied Merc recently. It was operating on Thames Travel's X39 (or 40). Not too sure whether I liked it or not. Looking at the fleet list. It isn't a one-off. Will see if I can get any more sampled. RE: South East Bus Operations - Michael - 21 May 2016 Brighton & Hove fleet list shows 6 Mercedes Benz Wright Streetdeck have now arrived in their fleet, last updated on 20th May. Usually there for no more than a week before they get released to Belfast Docks. RE: South East Bus Operations - Adrian - 01 Jun 2016 (01 Jun 2016, 2:18 pm)Michael wrote A few more Mercedes Benz Wright Streetdecks have been spotted - (not sure where they are though) Just in reference to this, I'd asked about the Streetdecks when I was down there last week, and I was told it'd be the end of June before they would be entering service. An enquiry on their facebook page received the same answer. It seems to have taken them some time to fulfil this order, given that they've started taking the Geminis off the 1 and Regency branding them, already. East Lancs OmniDekkas were making up the slack on the 1 last week. Thanks for information Dan. How many will leave Brighton, will 12 Omnidekka's leave or will some stay behind just in case any problems come up? RE: South East Bus Operations - Dan - 07 Jun 2016 (07 Jun 2016, 7:13 pm)Michael wrote Thanks for information Dan. I think Brighton will hold onto most of them for now - they'll need some paint floats (for the Volvo B9s undergoing the Regency treatment) and general spares in case of any teething issues with the StreetDecks. |
