RE: General TV thread - Andreos1 - 01 May 2015 Cracking show on BBC4 just now. Sounds of the 80's. Just had Depeche Mode on, followed by the Human League. I wonder if Relax will be on.... we know what the BBC were like when it was released! Doesn't look like it from the EPG. Mind, Depeche Mode, Yazoo and Erasure are on, so Vince Clarke will hopefully get his royalty cheque in the morning! Oh dear -.- RE: General TV thread - northern156 - 07 May 2015 If anyone is interested, there's a really good documentary series on BBC called Wastemen. http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episodes/p02npms8 Newcastle is much like any other city in the country, with one key difference when it comes to waste. Since landfill tax was introduced the desire to find alternatives to throwing rubbish in a hole in the ground has become the holy grail of the waste industry. And this goes far beyond simply encouraging residents to use their recycling bins. RE: General TV thread - Michael - 09 May 2015 Haha, Love away days on soccer am. General TV thread - Jimmi - 10 May 2015 Watching Breaking Bad on the worst sounding DVD player ever. General TV thread - DanPicken - 10 May 2015 A new program starts tomorrow on Channel 4 (?) called The Night Bus. Before that at 9pm, the new series of Benefits Street (Stockton). RE: General TV thread - S813 FVK - 10 May 2015 At least Stockton isn't the first place to fall victim to the Channel 4 crew. RE: General TV thread - Michael - 11 May 2015 Do you feel the power of the Gladiators? Can you face the challenge of the champions? Do you have the courage of a hero? Do you have the will and the skill? RE: General TV thread - S813 FVK - 11 May 2015 (11 May 2015, 6:40 pm)Michael wrote Do you feel the power of the Gladiators? Ah those were the days when Gladiators was a decent TV show. Sky's revival was awful. Yup, Saturday nights was sorted, it was Crystal Maze, Gladiators and Sunday's - was Fort Boyard. Jet was the hottest though . RE: General TV thread - Andreos1 - 11 May 2015 Wasn't sure whether to put it in this thread or the 'annoying' - ITV's insistence on putting TV shows, that follow 'celebs' around various parts of the UK and Ireland. Robson Green, Warwick Davies, Victor Meldrew, Christine Bleakley... There are probably more names that have been missed. Cheap telly and a little jaunt for the presenter and their crew. I didn't give ITV permission to film my life. It's ITV so Stephen Mulhern is probably in there as well. RE: General TV thread - Andreos1 - 11 May 2015 (11 May 2015, 7:52 pm)Jimmi wrote I didn't give ITV permission to film my life. A TV show following you around with your daily trials and tribulations would be better than the stuff their producers come up with! You just have to provide the commentary. Stephen Mulhern - urgh. RE: General TV thread - Jimmi - 11 May 2015 (11 May 2015, 8:04 pm)Andreos1 wrote A TV show following you around with your daily trials and tribulations would be better than the stuff their producers come up with! I am a rather plain person but even I could make more interesting viewing than this show sounds. I think there is enough film already showing Robson Green fishing, don't think we need another show with him and his massive fish. Anyone watching Benefits Street Stockton, not surprised this photographer doesn't want to be filmed as being part of this garbage. Why is it always the North East that ends up with all these documentaries, we aren't the only poor part of the country. RE: General TV thread - LeeCalder - 11 May 2015 One for Davie.... If Durham is a sh1thole, what is Stockton? ;-) (No offence to anyone that lives in Stockton... My Auntie lives there and she hates the place) RE: General TV thread - Andreos1 - 11 May 2015 (11 May 2015, 8:21 pm)Jimmi wrote I am a rather plain person but even I could make more interesting viewing than this show sounds. Forgot about Ade Edmondson doing one. The spin on his, was that he towed around a caravan and made/ate food. Robbie Coltrane travelled the UK, using B roads. I reckon there could be mileage in someone doing it on a bus like. RE: General TV thread - Michael - 11 May 2015 Watching 300, haven't seen it in ages! This is sparta! RE: General TV thread - Malarkey - 11 May 2015 Well The Nightbus on Channel 4 was dreadful. RE: General TV thread - Jimmi - 11 May 2015 (11 May 2015, 10:11 pm)Malarkey wrote Well The Nightbus on Channel 4 was dreadful.Being a Channel 4 programme it was pretty much what I was expecting, just showing a selection of young drunk people wanting to get laid. After a few minutes even though it has buses in it I lost all intrest and just became something that was on in the background. Another two episodes, don't think I bother with them. RE: General TV thread - northern156 - 12 May 2015 9 minutes in and I really can't be arsed watching it, it's crap. Mind, a program like that which is designed to draw viewers in (supposedly) will only have limited appeal anyway! If I wanted to watch videos of B9TLs I'd go on Youtube RE: General TV thread - Davie - 12 May 2015 (11 May 2015, 10:11 pm)Malarkey wrote Well The Nightbus on Channel 4 was dreadful. I was going to watch that, I'm pleased I didn't after what's been said!
