Can you remember a player for Newcastle called Brian Pinas, don't think he played a first team game, but would love to hear Motson say Here's Pinas penetrating deep in the hole Here's Pinas getting stuck into Fanni Pinas, taking [insert name here] from behind RE: football - Andreos1 - 04 Aug 2014 (04 Aug 2014, 4:55 pm)marxistafozzski wrote Can you remember a player for Newcastle called Brian Pinas, don't think he played a first team game, but would love to hear Motson say Aye, I can. Played a few pre-season games and vanished. Was just thinking about him yesterday, watching Roland Arrons play. I wonder whether Stefan Kuntz would have been able to play in the hole? Re: RE: football - MrFozz - 04 Aug 2014 (04 Aug 2014, 4:57 pm)Andreos Constantopolous wrote Aye, I can. There is some great names in football Rafael Scheidt Danny Shittu Danny Invincible (although I am told his surname is actually pronounced In-vin-chee-bla) Ice Cream (a nickname rather than his name) Norman Conquest Nortie Nortei Segar Bastard Julian Dicks Stefan Kuntz...I'm sure a commentator once said "Germany are playing like there's 11 Kuntz' on the pitch" RE: football - MurdnunoC - 04 Aug 2014 (04 Aug 2014, 12:27 pm)marxistafozzski wrote I am unsure about Borini, people go on about the fee and I am now of the agreement that 14m is a bit too much for a player who did not hit double figures in the league last season This is how I feel Borini's fee should be rated. Imagine that he signed for Sunderland last season instead of being on loan from Liverpool. Now imagine that another (bigger) club wish to sign him from Sunderland. Now, ask yourself the following questions, would he command a £14m transfer fee based on his performance last season? Or, if you're a Sunderland fan, would you gladly offload him for £14m because you think the offer is too good to refuse (a la Andy Carroll)? RE: football - MurdnunoC - 04 Aug 2014 (04 Aug 2014, 4:57 pm)Andreos Constantopolous wrote Was just thinking about him yesterday, watching Roland Arrons play. I haven't seen Rolando Aarons in action yet, but someone on my Facebook feed described him as a 'black Scott Sellars'. I don't see any physical resemblance so I assume the person must have been referring to his style of play. I remember Sellars being a decent player. RE: football - Andreos1 - 05 Aug 2014 (04 Aug 2014, 10:30 pm)AdamY wrote I haven't seen Rolando Aarons in action yet, but someone on my Facebook feed described him as a 'black Scott Sellars'. Definitely no physical resemblance and to be honest, apart from being able to ping a cross in with his left boot, I didn't think there was much of a playing resemblance either with Scott Sellars either. Heard something mentioned on Total Sport earlier. Not the highest fan of Pulis, but he did a great job keeping Palace up and unless someone can get going in the role soon, I fear for the Premiership status of the club. On another note, one of his coaches was Gerry Francis - if anyone can confirm if he still has his mullet, it would be appreciated. RE: 2014-15 Football Season(Who will be the best North East Team) - Michael - 14 Aug 2014 Suprised hes left, shame about the fall out with the chairman, he did well to keep palace up last year... have a feeling they will struggle now Re: RE: 2014-15 Football Season(Who will be the best North East Team) - MrFozz - 14 Aug 2014 (14 Aug 2014, 9:34 pm)Andreos Constantopolous wrote No idea whether to stick it in the football thread or this one - but have plumped for this one. ![]() I think this is quite a recent shot of Ol' Gerald Re: 2014-15 Football Season(Who will be the best North East Team) - MrFozz - 14 Aug 2014 Hilarious story out of Peru Udder mayhem match in Peru invaded by herd of cows Udderly disgraceful scenes by the herd of mooligans RE: 2014-15 Football Season(Who will be the best North East Team) - Michael - 14 Aug 2014 (14 Aug 2014, 11:02 pm)marxistafozzski wrote Hilarious story out of Peru Udder madness RE: 2014-15 Football Season(Who will be the best North East Team) - MrFozz - 14 Aug 2014 Certainly looked like they were milking...For years seen as the English disease, this is the mad Cow disease...my jokes are not really funny tbf [SMILING FACE WITH OPEN MOUTH AND TIGHTLY-CLOSED EYES] Re: 2014-15 Football Season(Who will be the best North East Team) - MrFozz - 15 Aug 2014 I bet this has never been done before Mark Oxley scoring on his debut for Hibernian...Nothing unusual about scoring on your debut, I hear you say, this kid is the goalie, I know the keeper scores sometimes, but in his 1st game, has to be a 1st RE: 2014-15 Football Season(Who will be the best North East Team) - Andreos1 - 15 Aug 2014 Jarrow Roofing have appeared on the BBC website ahead of the FA Cup tie they're appearing in http://m.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/28734169 RE: 2014-15 Football Season(Who will be the best North East Team) - Michael - 15 Aug 2014 A full list of 2014-15 squad numbers is listed below for Sunderland: 1.
