RE: Go North East: Upcoming Service Changes v2 - S813 FVK - 07 Jan 2018 (07 Jan 2018, 7:30 pm)V514DFT wrote I dont think nothern4555 means into the car park itself, but i will say if GNE go ahead with the static display (much like the 21 and X21) then it shouldnt be an issue for much longer,i dont like the aerial font anyway, but yeah asking GNE to send the 5 into E.Howdon and R.Quays is nothing but a pipe dream unfortunately Yes I've had a look and it appears that he doesn't mean that - apologies. It was me assuming that it went past Royal Quays as per the 11 and 19. I suppose it wouldn't add much time for it to head down to the stops outside of Royal Quays, back around the roundabout to get back onto it's current route? RE: Go North East: Upcoming Service Changes v2 - Crusader - 07 Jan 2018 (07 Jan 2018, 7:08 pm)Northern4555 wrote I tried getting the 9 to actually go into royal quays a few years back, without any success.its ironic it says on bus'royal quays' but you have to get off and cross a busy dual carriageway, which I would be reluctant to let my children go to wet n wild on the 9 because of the roads around there,so getting GNE to send it thru east howdon will be be met with same not interested response. The section of route between Jarrow and North Shields is secured by Nexus, so it’s not necessarily Go North East who said no, Nexus would need to agree too. It was me assuming that it went past Royal Quays as per the 11 and 19. its basically like what the 42/A does at Wallsend, down to bus station, round it then back out,but we all know what Nexus is like,i dont think its down to GNE at all RE: Go North East: Upcoming Service Changes v2 - Swiny1 - 09 Jan 2018 I was having a look at the new 5 timetables last night and think ive got it. However are Washington going to do the 6.30 from N.Shields to Jarrow arriving 6.41? The only thing I can link that in with is to run light to Fellgate to do the 6.56 to S Shields Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk Go North East: Upcoming Service Changes v2 - Brandon - 09 Jan 2018 A new network map for South Tyneside has been added showing the new routes services will take. It was pretty clear anyway, but a map always helps me see things a bit better. https://www.gonortheast.co.uk/maps/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk RE: Go North East: Upcoming Service Changes v2 - Northern4555 - 09 Jan 2018 (07 Jan 2018, 7:36 pm)S813 FVK wrote Yes I've had a look and it appears that he doesn't mean that - apologies. It was me assuming that it went past Royal Quays as per the 11 and 19. Sorry should have been clearer.the 9 runs along top rd past royal quays. a busy dual carriageway, without a proper crossing point, and for a min or two it could run down to roundabout around and stop right outside the retail park without having to cross the dual carriageway.wet and wild is diagonally across from this bus stop on quieter rd with crossing points.the road length is maybe 300 yards so we are only talking 600 extra yards on the whole route, but the safety and convenience of passengers ot weighs the 2 mins extra.i also think, more passengers would use this bus or the new 5 ,because of the convenience of getting the bus outside royal quays car park. Someone at GNE needs to get there finger out and update the Peterlee map as the x7 still going to the boro and by the map the x35 still running, despite repeated times emailing them since the services were changed!. The most interesting thing about the map is it shows that no routes will pass under Black Road bridge anymore, so there's no height restriction for vehicles allocated to the 9, unlike the 88, which passes under the bridge. This is the 1st time in my 58 years that there will be no northern/GNE buses going under black rd bridge, which will cut the link between Hebburn quay area to clock area.i can see why this is happening,as all mercs cannot go under that bridge, due to the air on etc on the roofs on various vehicles.i suppose this takes away any risk of bridge collisions, which have been a few in past involving double decker buses. I would have thought it would have started a week earlier, rather than Good Friday (when other feeder services are on a reduced timetable). RE: Go North East: Upcoming Service Changes v2 - L469 YVK - 04 Feb 2018 Seen a post on FB (GNE page) rumouring that the 57 will no longer serve Hadrian Park and that the 309/310 (probably the latter) will serve it instead. Is that just a rumour or is there planned changes yet to be registered with VOSA? Seems daft if they do that, the 57 would then have to terminate at Battle Hill unless its not even going to run as far as that, and theres the frequency, always thought they would of sent the 42 in there by now,but i suppose on the plus side Hadrian Park would have a bus to North Shields re-instated RE: Go North East: Upcoming Service Changes v2 - Dan - 04 Feb 2018 (04 Feb 2018, 2:10 am)L469 YVK wrote Seen a post on FB (GNE page) rumouring that the 57 will no longer serve Hadrian Park and that the 309/310 (probably the latter) will serve it instead. RE: Go North East: Upcoming Service Changes v2 - L469 YVK - 04 Feb 2018 (04 Feb 2018, 5:15 pm)Dan wrote Think this rumour has been doing the rounds since the dawn of time! I don't think it would happen to be honest. The 310 and it's former reincarnations haven't served Hadrian Park for nearly 10 years (this March). The only thing I could see GNE doing is maybe curtailing some of the Sunday evening 57's to between Newcastle - Wardley only and have some of the Sunday evening 310's additionally serve Hadrian Park towards North Shields only. Plus, if the 57 during Monday to Sunday daytimes was to run only between Wardley and Newcastle, then buses would be faced with a massive layover in Newcastle as it would need a PVR of 6 as it couldn't previously cope with a PVR of 5 before it got extended.
