He has a good point to be fair, if you have to remain seated until the bus stops, the driver should wait until your seated until he drives off. Very rarely happens though.

Will it just be the AM ones that get updated (which simply show the route number then Lanchester St Bede's) or are you going to torture me for five weeks? I know that outlining that service 825 doesnt stop at Stanley Bus Station would be a good thing for the general public who try to board the service.

Nah, the AM ones are fine. It's the PM journeys which could do with a bit of tweaking to bring them in line with the timetable provided on Go North East's website (which appears to be incorrect, given that it shows 825 serving Stanley Bus Station!)

He should get himself one of those Bridge card things then which, when shown to the driver, means he has to wait until you have taken your seat.

All he is doing in that video is making himself look like a total arse and i completely agree with that Jay guy who has had ago at him (and got put down) for it.

Yeah he's going on ridiculous but he does have a valid point.

Unless you are elderly or disabled GNE never normally wait until you are seated to pull away from a stop, often it's pull ticket, close doors, away. Nearly went flying to the floor when I got on the 50 at Framwellgate Moor one afternoon a while back.

Arriva tend to wait until you are seated these days or at least Darlington depot drivers do and this applies to everyone as well not just elderly or disabled.

Been on three Angel Hybrids this morning and I felt like taking a sledge hammer to the announcements, it's not just the remain seated craic I just don't like the sound of either of their voices and this applies to their radio show as well.

There are currently passengers that use the 687 from Corbridge (admittedly @ 17:06 rather than 16:49) to travel to Hexham after work finishes @ 5pm.
Some of these arrived in Corbridge from Hexham on the first run of the day (Corbridge 09:02)

And where does the 10:55 687 come from to start in Corbridge?

The logical answer would be the 686 that terminates at Ovington appx 10 mins earlier!

When the 825 was extended to Flint Hill from Stanley in September last year, it did serve Stanley Bus Station. However, it was later discovered that the loadings were too much (going over the capacity limits on the buses). As a result, an amendment to the route was made from 10th November 2014 which saw the service no longer serve the Bus Station and people were told to get either the X31 or 828.

Look at the via points on the timetable. I've had the same PDF open for best part of this afternoon, so I'm well acquainted with it...

I'll not be cheeky and highlight it in a red box for you. Wink

I don't know why i underestimated your ability to read a timetable. Apologies Tongue

When i have continued from my usual stop at South Stanley to Flint Hill (where the service terminates), it has just gone straight around the roundabout - only once has it actually gone into the bus station.

When I was on the Q1 yesterday between Gateshead and Heworth, a couple of people did mention that the next stop announcements were annoying. I asked the driver if he was able to turn them on or off and he said he didn't know but they were bloody annoying.

RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - July 2015 - omnicity4659 - 27 Jul 2015

Re announcements.

I think he needs to calm his t**s over the announcements. He should be grateful that a clean, low floor bus with features for this generation turned up not a decrepit dirty old step entrance vehicle with benches for seats.

However, the "remain seated" announcements every time a bell is pressed is OTT, Arriva have scaled this announcement down to the end of routes. There isn't point in having printed safety leaflets either as Arriva's didn't last long.

No they cannot.  Remember Next Stop systems are there for the benefit of blind or people with bad eyesight as well as strangers to the area.  What is the point of having them if the drivers can turn them off and people with bad eyesight miss their stop??

I thought 652 was a Venture solo !

Do you mean 662 (NK15 GFO).

(27 Jul 2015, 10:30 am)Michael wrote Not sure if its being asked or not.... how will the Tynedale Links interwork with each other from next Mondays changes?

A large number of journeys on service 680 will by operated standalone - not interworking with any other services. These journeys are outlined below, and I believe they should be allocated Scania L94UB/Wright Solar 5210:
From Hexham - 06:55, 09:10, 11:10, 13:10, 15:35, 17:20
From Bellingham - 07:45, 10:05, 12:05, 14:05, 16:30, 18:15.

Similarly, a large number of journeys on service 682 will be operated standalone. These journeys are outlined below, and should be allocated an MPD:
From Colwell - 07:36
From Hexham - 08:35 then hourly until 16:35
From Acomb - 09:08 then hourly until 16:08

Service 683 will remain standalone, as present.

Services 74 and 686 will continue to interwork, as present (using an MPD), although additionally includes the journey of service 687 commencing from Corbridge at 12:55 (running off the 12:03 686 from Prudhoe).

The second board on services 74 and 686 which interwork includes the following journeys of service 688 (again using an MPD):
From Hexham - 05:58, 07:35, 15:40, 17:20, 18:10
From Allenheads/Allendale: 06:44, 08:04, 16:29, 17:49, 19:09

The remaining journeys of service 688 are covered by another MPD (previously Scania L94). This vehicle also works the 16:35 687 from Hexham.

There is another board which covers journeys on services 686, 687, 74 and 682 throughout the day. Again, this should be allocated an MPD. The morning/evening 680 journeys offering connections to/from Newcastle should be operated by a Tynedalexpress Scania L94.

As predicted, there will be some journeys operated by Stanley Depot on weekdays in between normal duties on service 689. This includes the 1135 687 service from Hexham (and return), as well as the 1210 682 service from Hexham (and return).

I think Next Stop systems (700 & 4) and other's should be more like Metro System. Where they are not over the top or shouting out but for people to understand what they are saying.

The Next Stop Announcements on service 700 has nothing to do with Go North East, I'm afraid. Nexus has liaised with Hanover (the supplier) to provide and set up the announcements.

I think the announcements on service 4 are fine, but that's just me!

Off the DCC website:

A693
Stanley Road, Oxhill, Stanley
Carriageway planing and resurfacing
2 way lights
10 August - 14 August

Rather than the road being closed, it will just have 2 way lights in operation. Doesn't even look like it is the top of South Moor Bank. More services X31, 44, 44A, V8, 78 and 78A that will be affected.

That is what i gathered from the proposals too.
With all of this splitting, i can't help but think it has something to do with QCS. Won't be long before they are trying to do something with the 8/8A/78/78A.
