Right, according to the website it says 24 months for the main device so it should still be under warranty. May have a play about with it a bit later. RE: Mobile Phones - PH - BQA - 15 Dec 2014 (15 Dec 2014, 1:14 pm)aureolin wrote Nope. I have an Xperia running Android, and a Lumia running WP8.1. Neither seem to have issues.Completely different subject, but have you had any problems with draft messages on your Xperia? I can't seem to get rid of them, which is annoying when you need to text someone in a rush RE: Mobile Phones - Andreos1 - 15 Dec 2014 Just been playing about with Lumia Creative Studio. Does quite a bit and nifty with quick edits. Will try and upload them from laptop later, site isn't allowing me from phone. Edit: It has uploaded after all.... The front destination explains the issues I explained on the T&WM thread! RE: Mobile Phones - Jimmi - 24 Dec 2014 Still having WiFi problems. Trying to do a factory reset but it seems to have given up on trying to back my files up. Slightly annoyed with the update my phone did last night, one thing in particular I'm hating is now when I press the magnifying glass button on the phone instead of opening Bing search it now opens Cortana which annoys me because I don't want to be say on the bus what I'm wanting to search (I'm not looking at owt dodgy, it's usually stuff relating to this hobby or random stuff like Mr Blobby land or where is somewhere). I know I could add it to my favourites but this takes longer to access the site. One positive though is the browser has changed slightly and I can now reply to posts on here again, although this site now looks incredible wide and have to zoom in and trying to fit the whole post in makes the text look tiny. RE: Mobile Phones - Andreos1 - 24 Dec 2014 Never use the magnifying glass/bing search bar. Always just type what I am looking for in the browser (prefer UC Browser over IE) and it finds what I need. UC Browser has the advantage of being able to upload files onto sites like this, whereas IE wouldn't let me. RE: Mobile Phones - Dan - 23 Jan 2015 Has anyone been keeping up with the Samsung Galaxy S6 rumours and speculation? It's been a daily search on Google News for me, and I'm looking forward to it. Definitely seems they're going to build a very good mobile phone to recover from their poor year last year with the S5. Apple are going to have to come up with something more than a bigger screen size, this time, for the iPhone 7! They're not going to like that Samsung will reportedly include 'Samsung Pay' and a thumbprint scanner similar to Apple's on the iPhone... Providing the price tag is not completely ludicrous, I may opt to ditch my Galaxy S4 this year! RE: Mobile Phones - Michael - 23 Jan 2015 I have an S4 to, i like it but the battery is rubbish, same as all Samsungs... good phones but need better batterys. My mates have got the new Sony Experia... which are good. Samsung all the way for me...I would not piss on Sony phone if they were up in flames...Since 2009 I have had Samsung Galaxy Ace Samsung Galaxy Note Samsung Galaxy SII Samsung Galaxy Note 3 I am now using an S4, which is great for playing games, I play football manager all the time on it... My contract is up in 18 months, though I will probably pay extra to upgrade about 3 months in advance, probably go for the latest in the Note Series or S series RE: Mobile Phones - omnicity4659 - 23 Jan 2015 I don't have a phone - I've got an iPad (well my mams) and the landline phone for an emergency. All you need really. RE: Mobile Phones - idiot - 23 Jan 2015 Those that have battery issues make sure all apps are closed and look at getting an extended battery off Amazon. Not that expensive either RE: Mobile Phones - Andreos1 - 23 Jan 2015 (23 Jan 2015, 9:25 am)idiot wrote Those that have battery issues make sure all apps are closed and look at getting an extended battery off Amazon. Not that expensive either Auto checking/syncing of emails as well as having notifications set for twitter and fb used to cause massive issues with the battery on mine. Switched the majority off and get a good 10/12 hours now. Not that expensive eitherWhat I normally do when I am out, as i like to play Footy Manager when sitting on the bus, turn flight mode on, and turn off every other connection, it extends my battery quite a bit when on flight mode RE: Mobile Phones - MurdnunoC - 23 Jan 2015 Can anyone remember the days when all you had on the bus, if you were lucky, was a walkman and a book to occupy yourself with? I remember when the bus used to be loud cacophony of people chattering. While that it is still present, it's a lot quieter these days! Back in the day when the only game you could play on a phone was Snake and if you wanted a good ringtone on ya phone ya had to key it in yourself on a ringtone editor RE: Mobile Phones - MurdnunoC - 23 Jan 2015 ...or back in the day when a mobile phone was bigger than the bag you were carrying and contained no extras such as games, a choice of ringtones, or text messaging services. RE: Mobile Phones - Andreos1 - 04 Mar 2015 Had the Lumia Denim update last night. Just playing about with it now, seems canny. It comes with new phones, but is being rolled out gradually with existing handsets. RE: Mobile Phones - Jimmi - 04 Mar 2015 (04 Mar 2015, 8:13 am)Andreos1 wrote Had the Lumia Denim update last night. Think my Lumia 520 had the Lumia Denim update a while back, I've never really played about with much of the stuff for fear I'd mess stuff up but some things seem good especially if you have a business of some sort which I don't. Just had a search of the Lumia Denim update and I am not 100% sure if I have had the update because it says things about the lock screen having weather or something on although I downloaded an app for my lock screen where I can have 12 backgrounds which changes a lot and also it has 5 day weather and calendar where I have chosen to display six events. Cortana is a good feature but can sometimes be a pain, was in Sunderland one Sunday and wondered what time Dalton Park closed and it kept coming back with it's probably closed which it wasn't and it wouldn't let me search for the opening hours just kept coming back with that. Although the worst thing about Cortana is that cringe worthy advert with Clean Bandit. RE: Mobile Phones - idiot - 04 Mar 2015 Just been reading about the s6. I will not be upgrading it as like iPhones u can't access the battery. Think you need a certain weather app for it to show on the screen. I have accu weather and it doesn't show. With denim, you can create these weird folders. I have put my 'messaging' apps into one. It still shows when you have a new message, but when you click on it, the folder opens out - still retaining the start screen. The alarm snooze button can be changed when the alarm goes off too. So in the past, it was fixed at 9min intervals. You can now change it to suit. Never seen that advert. I like the one where Cortana takes the p!ss out of Siri though. Now that I think about it, I may have had weather when it first updated but I have changed some things including downloading a different lock screen app. RE: Mobile Phones - Andreos1 - 04 Mar 2015 (04 Mar 2015, 3:32 pm)Jimmi wrote Now that I think about it, I may have had weather when it first updated but I have changed some things including downloading a different lock screen app. If you go to system -> settings -> extras & info, it will tell you the version. I have been putting off my update for a while now, cos of the need to make a load of space for it. RE: Mobile Phones - Jimmi - 05 Mar 2015 Seem to be having some problems with my Windows Phone in the last few weeks. The main problem is things seem to be running a bit slow and not very smoothly. Also apps keep closing especially when I open another app or lock the phone. Also apps struggle to open some of the time too. Anyone got any suggestions on what I could possibly do? I think part of the problem may be the amount of stuff I have on it and I am going to delete some stuff off here over the next few days. If you think the phones going slowly because of the forum... It's not. May I ask how many apps etc you have downloaded and where you have downloaded it from? Quick clear of my browsing history usually fixes it. |
