RE: Suggestions - CatsFast101 - 03 Mar 2014 Hi I've noticed we have an allocation list on each of the odd workings thread expect GNE, I've had a little list me and mate did a while back I combined it and correct some things such as mergers of riverside and Winlaton. Possibly a few errors/PVRs to change but this could be posted at the front of GNE odd workings thread so people can check certain allocations and to help new members etc. only a thought! :p Riverside TEN 10/10A/10B, PVR 13: Volvo B9TL Wright Eclipse Gemini ToonLink 11/31/32/47, PVR 13: Volvo B10BLE (8) // Volvo B7RLE (5) Crusader 27, PVR 14: Mercedes Citaro NexusBus 29, PVR 1: Optare Solo SR Blaydon Racers 49/49A, PVR 9: Mercedes Citaro Orbit 51/52, PVR 9: Optare Versa Saltwell Park 53/54, PVR 8: Wright Streetlite Fab FiftySeven 57, PVR 5: Volvo B10BLE CityLink 58, PVR 12: Optare Versa Service 64/95/96, PVR 5: Volvo B10BLR Pulse 67/69, PVR 4: Volvo B10BLE Loop 93/94, PVR 8: Scania L94UB Wright Solar Highwayman 97/98/98A, PVR 8: Scania L94UB Wright Solar MetroCente Shuttle S1, PVR 1: VDL SB120 Wright Merit TyneTees Xpress X9/X10, PVR 6: Volvo B9TL Wright Eclipse Gemini Great Park & Ride X40/40A, PVR 4: Scania L94UA Wright Solar Fusion Deptford Silver Arrows 2A/2C, PVR 8: Mercedes Citaro Prince Bishops 20/20A, PVR 12: Scania L94UB Wright Solar Service 29, PVR 8: DAF SB120 Wright Cadet (5) // Scania L94UB Wright Solar (3) Laser 35/35A/35B/35C, PVR 18: Mercedes Citaro (12) // Scania L94UB Wright Solar (6) Service 38, PVR 2: DAF SB120 Wright Cadet East Durham 238, PVR 2: Transbus Mini Pointer Dart (MPD) SimpliCity 39, PVR 5: Optare Versa SimpliCity 42, PVR 5: Optare Versa Fab56, PVR 15: Volvo B9TL Wright Eclipse Gemini Drifter 60, PVR 8: Wright Streetlite SimpliCity 61, PVR 5: Optare Versa Service 99, PVR 2: Transbus Mini Pointer Dart (MPD) FastCats X35/X36, PVR 11: Scania L94UB Wright Solar Percy Main Coaster 1, PVR 14: Scania Omnicity Service 9, PVR 7: Scania Omnicity (4) // Volvo B7TL East Lancs Vyking (3) Centurion 17, PVR 11: Volvo B10BLE (9) // Dennis Trident East Lancs Lolyne (2) Cobalt Connect 19, PVR 4: Scania Omnicity North Tyne Links 40/41/80, PVR 9: Transbus Mini Pointer Dart (MPD) Service 307, PVR 1: Volvo B10BLE Cobalt Clipper 309/310, PVR 15: Volvo B9TL Wright Eclipse Gemini Chester Lime 8/78, PVR 13: Volvo B10BLE Service 13/14, PVR 2: Dennis Trident East Lancs Lolyne angel 21, PVR 17: Volvo B5LH Wright Eclipse Gemini (15) // Volvo B7TL Wright Eclipse Gemini (2) theWaggonway 28/28A, PVR 5: Scania L94UB Wright Solar Lambton Worm 34/34A, PVR 4: Optare Versa Whey Aye Five-0 50, PVR 6: Scania Omnicity Service X22, PVR 2: Dennis Trident East Lancs Lolyne Service X25, PVR 5: Scania L94UB Wright Solar (3) // Dennis Trident East Lancs Lolyne (2) Stanley Lime 8/78, PVR 13: Volvo B10BLE Service 15/15A, PVR 3: Volvo B10BLE Diamond 43/44/44A, PVR 14: Mercedes Citaro Red Kite 45/46, PVR 9: Scania Omnicity Service X30/X31, PVR 5: Dennis Trident Plaxton President Service X70/X71, PVR 4: Scania Omnicity Washington Connections 4, PVR 11: Mercedes Citaro South Tyne 88/88A, PVR 9: Optare Versa (8) // Scania L94UB Wright Solar (1) Red Arrows X1, PVR 14: Volvo B9TL Wright Eclipse Gemini Service M2/M3, PVR 8: DAF SB120 Wright Cadet Service W5/W6, PVR 4: Alexander Mini Pointer Dart (MPD) Hexham: TEN 10/10A/10B, PVR 13: Volvo B9TL Wright Eclipse Gemini Tynedalexpress X84/X85, PVR 4: Scania L94UB Wright Solar TyneDale Links 74/74A, PVR 2: Volvo B6BLE Plaxton Concept 2000 (1) // Scania L94UB Wright Solar (1) TyneDale Links 683/684/686/688, PVR 4: Transbus Mini Pointer Dart Saltmeadows: South Tyne 5, PVR 4: DAF SB120 Wright Cadet Service 27X, PVR 1: Transbus Mini Pointer Dart (MPD) QuayLink Q1/Q2, PVR 9: Optare Versa NexusBus Network, PVR ?: Optare Solo SR Peterlee: WearTees Xpress, PVR 3: Mercedes Citaro East Durham 201, PVR 1: Transbus Mini Pointer Dart (MPD) East Durham 202/204/208/265, PVR 8: Transbus Mini Pointer Dart (MPD) East Durham 209/210, PVR 1: Transbus Mini Pointer Dart (MPD) East Durham 206/923, PVR 2: Transbus Mini Pointer Dart (MPD) Crook: Pronto X21, PVR 7: Volvo B7TL Plaxton President The OK Way 18, PVR 2: Transbus Mini Pointer Dart (MPD) Consett: Venture Network, PVR 10: Optare Solo SR Evening & Sunday variations: SimpliCity 42: 'Drifter' Wright Streetlite Lambton Worm 34/34A: 'theWaggonway' Scania L94UB Wright Solar Centurion 17A: 'North Tyne Links' Transbus Mini Pointer Dart (MPD) Pronto X21: 'angel' Volvo B5LH Wright Eclipse Gemini Service 29A: 'SimpliCity' Optare Versa Silver Arrows 2A/2C: 'SimpliCity' Optare Veraa (SUNDAY ONLY) Great Park & Ride 40A: 'Northern' Transbus Mini Pointer Dart (MPD) Tynedalexpress X84: 'TyneDale Links' Transbus Mini Pointer Dart (MPD, Sunday only) TyneDale Links 74A: 'TyneDale Links' Transbus Mini Pointer Dart (MPD, Sunday only) Service 15: 'Venture' Optare Solo SR (Sunday Only) RE: Suggestions - Malarkey - 09 Mar 2014 Just been having a look at the games section, and spotted yeti sports 1, when I was at School I used to play this version which far more entertaining. http://www.methodshop.com/games/play/yeti/yeti1-blood.shtml Also I used to play Copter which is extremely addictive, I downloaded it Yesterday on my New Samsung Galaxy Ace 3 http://www.coptergame.net/ Just a few suggestions from me, also Candy Crush and Splashy Fish as they quite popular atm, although personally I haven't played them. RE: Suggestions - Y961 XBU - 09 Mar 2014 I know i have said this before but is there any way that the Forum can be re-opened so Guests are able to read what's posted? i really think we are missing a trick here as people who see info on here are going to pass the link around and would give us more traffic and more of a chance of getting a few new faces RE: Suggestions - CatsFast101 - 10 Mar 2014 (09 Mar 2014, 10:28 pm)Y961 XBU wrote I know i have said this before but is there any way that the Forum can be re-opened so Guests are able to read what's posted? i really think we are missing a trick here as people who see info on here are going to pass the link around and would give us more traffic and more of a chance of getting a few new faces Guest used to be able view threads, I actually only joined so I could see the threads! Your traffic increases yes, but you tend to find you don't get as many registrations. What's increased traffic without contribution? How does that benefit the site? How does that benefit the site? well if the viewer is of a decent mind he would credit where he got the information from and that should bring in views to the site and when people see the area this forum covers i would be shocked if many people turned down the chance to join this social group RE: Suggestions - Andreos1 - 11 May 2014 Just a thought relating to the 'other types of transport' thread. We have water, rail and air - but not road. Thought discussions could take place with regard road building projects such as the Wear bridge, move the St Marys Road realignment project discussion into a more appropriate area, dualling the A1 and the current upgrade to motorway standard between Leeming and Barton etc. Does anyone have any thoughts or opinions? RE: Suggestions - MurdnunoC - 11 May 2014 (11 May 2014, 11:10 am)Andreos Constantopolous wrote Just a thought relating to the 'other types of transport' thread. I would welcome the creation of a 'roads & infrastructure' area of the forum to discuss road-building schemes both past and present. Proposed and abandoned schemes, such as the myriad of sub-surface motorways planned for Newcastle in the 1970's, could also be discussed here. I can remember seeing those several years ago and being genuinely taken aback. To keep it bus related, there be discussion about bus lanes, pinch points, ideas on improving junctions and heck, we could even get Andy 'traffic and travel' Clifford signed up with some live bulletins! RE: Suggestions - MurdnunoC - 11 May 2014 (11 May 2014, 5:18 pm)Andreos Constantopolous wrote I can remember seeing those several years ago and being genuinely taken aback. Why keep it bus related? The discussions which take place in the Trains, Planes and Water sub-forums are not always bus related. To keep it strictly bus related would severely restrict discussion (in my view at least) and is largely covered by threads in the 'Bus Management and Infrastructure' part of the forum. I would love to see the Cliffmeister giving regular traffic and travel updates right here on the forum. The additional web-traffic it would generate for the site would be unreal. Perhaps if we all chipped in enough money we could get him his own private helicopter! RE: Suggestions - Andreos1 - 11 May 2014 (11 May 2014, 5:38 pm)AdamY wrote Why keep it bus related? Of course, it doesn't have to be all bus related. However, there are members on the forum who only contribute in certain threads and possibly miss out on other aspects of the forum - due to it lacking a bus related theme. However, if there were elements of buses in the proposed 'road and infrastructure' thread, I can't see it doing any harm and could help it grow and would add to the other things we have suggested could be a part of it. I wonder if Liam is able to sort out a live webcam feed from Casa del Clifford for the bulletins? I can imagine it now. "There has been an accident at Billy Mill Roundabout and Srrivva services 306 and 308 are affected as a result That's your traffic and travel news for this evening." RE: Suggestions - Jimmi - 19 May 2014 Can the SB Travel thread be renamed to include JSB Travel, as I imagine having two separate threads could be confusing. RE: Suggestions - Adrian - 21 Jul 2014 Not sure how possible it is, but could we perhaps look at getting the 'Like' system back? Or perhaps something that you can give a post a thumbs up or thumbs down, rather than having to reply at length to have an opinion? Could we also look at some sort of mentioning/tagging plugin? Found this on the MyBB site which gives the functionality I was thinking of. http://mods.mybb.com/view/mentionme RE: Suggestions - R852 PRG - 21 Jul 2014 (21 Jul 2014, 8:41 pm)aureolin wrote Not sure how possible it is, but could we perhaps look at getting the 'Like' system back? Marcus likes this RE: Suggestions - Andreos1 - 01 Sep 2014 Following on from the discussions/debates relating to scholars and workers services and it being the start of a number of contracts - is it worth creating a thread/database of these routes, contract holders and details of allocations? Similarly, something could also be set up for the likes of Nexus contracts such as the 37/73. It was bizarre - I think there may have been some posts about it when we did roll it out. I remember Quote+ was one thing affected. I found a hashtag plugin earlier today, so I'll give that a blast tomorrow morning hopefully. Setting it up as a database will be difficult because we rely on Liam to design these things then he leaves me (or at least someone besides himself) to do the content side of things usually. I know Liam is quite busy with work, Uni and everything else, so won't have a great deal of time to do that. Content-wise, I'm a bit pushed for time lately too. Scott has been working on the indep fleet lists a lot recently and updating the ANE one as/when things occur. Aureolin has a few things up his sleeve re tendered services, but I'm not sure if anything has come of it yet. Doing it on a thread would be good though. We should use this as an opportunity to gather ideas so we can think about how we'll do it. RE: Suggestions - Adrian - 01 Sep 2014 (01 Sep 2014, 8:29 pm)Dan wrote I think aureolin may have suggested something like this a few weeks back, though I'm not sure if it was on the public board, our private board or via PM. Something I've been working on in terms of collating the data. Councils and the PTE so far have been forthcoming with the information, but unfortunately it's not of a standard. I'm looking to review and go back to a few over the next week or so, and we'll see where we are from there. I'm hoping it's no more than quarterly, and also that I can get the councils to supply me the info without prompt. Once we have all the info, we can probably determine how frequent it needs to be updated and what format it is best displayed in. The current of an Excel file isn't suitable, as it's not friendly for mobiles and some tablets. Web based would probably be better. A closed thread sounds great, probably quite easy to set up too - simple copy/paste from the VOSA lists. When a vehicle is spotted on a route, the information can be added by an admin/mod - rather than every Tom, Dick and Harry getting their paws on it. Got to say I started on the "regular wrong workings" threads and people submitted info and I'm sorry I haven't got any further with it. Typical of me, I start a million projects and never finish them properly! I must start to push through with ideas and finish them before starting a new one.... Been working on the independents fleetlists quite a lot recently, we're about 60%-70% done now I reckon RE: Suggestions - Andreos1 - 19 Sep 2014 Not wanting to do it for any narcissistic or ego massaging reasons at all - more of out of curiosity.
