Channel 4's insistence on putting ancient comedies on, on a morning.

Switched on this morning and found 20 odd year old episodes of 3rd Rock from the Sun and the omni present Frasier.

Motorway service stations.

You see old 60's/70's ones made out of concrete and pebbledash, newer ones constructed like at Wetherby - but never any old ones demolished and replaced...

Admittedly, as a fan of Brutalist architecture, I would not like to see any of the motorway service stations of which you speak demolished. Some are quite grandiose for their purpose and look better suited to airport terminals but, just like the former Trinity Square Car Park in Gateshead, they were probably built to be multi-functional with restaurants, hotels and conference rooms and ended up housing a few shops, a garage and a greasy diner.

It was getting a bit like that! I was more concerned at the OAP queue forming at the bus door, half expecting a fight to the death for the front seats.

To answer an old old question in this thread, everything goes grey.

Twice in three days. X12 has been dumped again with the doors closed. I'll start thinking it's personal! Wink

At least the driver of 4968 in Park Lane has stayed with her vehicle whilst waiting for her replacement.
No sign of the replacement like.

Why is it when you see shoes or gloves on the ground when you are out and about, you only ever see one of the pair.

Who supplies gas and electric, to the likes of NPower or Scottish Power?

Just wondering if they shop around for the best deals.

This was on the radio the other day and it got me thinking!

Not sure there was a definitive answer, but does your device get heavier when you download something on to it?

The A1 (Western Bypass).
Historically, the southbound carriageway always struggled between the Metrocentre and Coal lhouse, clearing as you passed the angel/Bowes Incline - where the road becomes wider and ultimately faster (the 50mph limit is reduced there).

However, since the widening of the traditionally slower section, traffic is now coming to a standstill on the faster, motorway section.

Has me baffled as there is no logical reason for it to slow down and there appears to be no more traffic joining at the coalhouse than previous.

RE: lifes little mysteries - Andreos1 - 19 Mar 2017

There's been a stat kicking around over the last week regarding the last 5 fixtures between Forest and Derby.
The stat said something about the number of managers the clubs have had and how each of the last 5 fixtures between the two clubs, featured a different managerial match up.
Yesterday, it was Warburton and Rowett. Earlier in the season, a French fella and McClaren.

It got me thinking about the Tyne & Wear derby and the managerial match-ups over the last few years.
Although it doesnt hit the same standard as it has done in the East Midlands, the managerial turnover up here, is pretty high. However, my mind has hit a blank and I can't work out all of the managerial duels over the last few years.

Benitez - Moyes.
Moyes - McClaren.
Allardyce - Carver.
Pardew - Allardyce (or big Dick?).
Pardew - Big Dick.
Poyet - Pardew.
Pardew - Di Canio.

Then my mind hits a blank. I can't remember the gaffers on Wearside. Was it O'Neill? Bruce? Keane?

The M6/A74.

Many roads cross the border between England and Scotland. None of them change their number as they cross the border.
Apart from the M6/A74.

Any ideas?

It's about as clear as the A63/M62 situation.

Forgot about that one.
There's also the M62/M60/M62 section a few miles west too.
