RE: Nexus Tenders | Newcastle & North Tyneside - March 2022 - Storx - 18 Feb 2022

(18 Feb 2022, 10:16 pm)L469 YVK wrote I wouldn't say the 306 is quite a big enough blow, but a tit for tat extension of the 22 would see the end of GNE's 1.

306/308 will be interesting to see if they will revert back to every 15 mins Mon-Sat or reduce and interwork every 20 mins each? The 309/310/311 however are no longer the "Micky Mouse" secondary routes on the Coast Road running around on SPD's & Cadets like the old 300/305, 315/316, 75/76

The problem is without the PAX from the outer reaches then it will struggle. There's not than many houses along the Coast Road to warrant a six minute bus service (ignoring the 22, 51, 52, 306, 308, 38 which all hover around) if the outer legs are dead. Even the busiest Stagecoach services and the 21 aren't that frequent.

In fairness we haven't seen the changes yet for all we know the 30 drivers could partially be coming from the 311 being binned off at the same time. 30 drivers seem quite a lot from the 11, half the 41 and 42 and 42A, 6 days a week 6am - 6pm roughly. We'll have to wait though.

So if gct are taking the 42/342. Does this mean they have lost the W routes and 335 as if they have thay. They don't have the buses to cover

There's changes with the W services, 333, 335 and (3)59 should have enough buses.

It's only the evening 311 journeys being binned off with the 310 serving Hadrian Park during the evenings? Which to be honest is a sensible choice and I would even go further with some 310 journeys before 7am Monday-Friday and 8.30am on Saturdays and 9.30am on Sundays serving Hadrian Park towards Newcastle.

Re-routing the 310 via Hadrian Park during the day would only save a PVR of 2x.

What is happening with the W services? 333 and 335 are merging I believe? 359 changes?

W3 withdrawn I think

359 withdrawn

335 isn’t replacing the 333 I think that’s the 317.

Honestly not sure, don't believe anything has been leaked about them yet (if there's anything) but 2 buses is quite a lot it's 200 hours of work or so. Depends on the X39, as I know it interworks with that.

There's way way too many buses along there though and I know Dan has commented about they're struggling before. The death of working in offices with Cobalt will have hit them hard aswell as that was the point of the 309 pretty much.

In the future could we end up seeing North Tyneside Taxibuses.

So if all the little coaster routes are going. What's happening to the solos. Repainted and debranded

Obviously. Why do you post so much shit?
You've answered your own question. GNE always paint their buses. Apparently they might go to Hexham in a swap.

In theory though, it's already well streamlined. GNE used at have 12x buses per hour with the 57 running as an oddball. Now they only have 9x.

Going by what the Chronicle put out from what they seen, it looks like the evening 311 is being withdrawn (served by 310 instead) so that implies the 311 will stay.

Aye but remember there's the Arriva 8x aswell. Can't see them budging without GNE budging. If they both went down to 6 buses an hour then you'd have a nice 12 buses an hour which is probably what it should be.

Just have to see though wouldn't surprised if neither budge though ha.

Honestly imagine some will be withdrawn. There's no use for them anywhere. Wouldn't be surprised if some went to Hexham though to replace the 3 Versa's on the 684.

Why can't gne just withdraw this route and put the 310 serving Hadrian Park. The Newcastle to Hadrian Park route is pointless. It's been withdrawn/changed so much

Early mornings & evenings it makes sense. But the 310 does get a fair few users around West Chirton travelling through and putting the 310 through Hadrian Park espeically during the peak times would certainly p*** them off! They'd just end up walking down or up to Formica for the 306/308 in most instances.

So is the 42a service between hazlerig - airport - kingston park now a goner?

Being replaced by the 342 apparently

342 is not serving the airport, idiot. False information doesn't help anyone. 342 will run from Hazlerigg to Kingston Park and then M71 route to Westerhope. The 342 will not serve Dinnington, the airport or Woolsington, instead running along the carriageway.

Yes, Rob44, it's a goner. No idea what service there will be around there after the changes. Hopefully GCT will turn up and run the 342 properly.

Is there any need to be so rude?

Its different when you’re asking repetitive and stupid questions.

Yes, because he won't be told and then spreads the nonsense around, confusing everyone. 342 is not 100% replacing the 42A, and people who ask questions want accurate information. Then before, he answered his own question in the same post, and it was already suggested Percy Main and Hexham would swap. He seems to post because he's bored and not even read what's been said and just say pointless things. Always has.

Whatever I do wrong I put right. Questions are good to learn, and I admit my dislike for Stagecoach with many valid reasons, has lead me to suggest new services (the new 342 links Westerhope to places further afield like Wallsend and Killingworth, yet when I suggested Westerhope be linked with more distant places I was shot down.

(19 Feb 2022, 1:01 pm)Train8261 wrote Oh aye and what information do u have. Do you have a source that tell u all this stuff. God forbid we haven't seen anything apart from a few post on here

I have inside Stagecoach information and saw the leaked information about the Nexus tenders. You answered your own question, and didn't acknowledge the Percy Main/Hexham swap possibility and if the information hasn't be made available nobody can answer it. We know the 342 is not serving the 42A route between Hazlerigg and Kenton Bank Foot, therefore don't tell someone the 342 is replacing the 42A, because that's incorrect and doesn't help. "Apparently" suggests you don't know anyway, so why say anything? Maybe I could say "apparently" the  21 is going to be extended to Newcastle Airport.

So how does anyone know if it is or isn't if nobody knows. Jesus

We can only speculate about the Little Coasters buses. 342 is known.

Read, then post. Less questions if you read the information.

The 643 was also won by GNE.

Thank you. So no GNE service to Royal Quays?

643 I expected to be won by GCT.

Are the Newcastle tenders awarded on 28th February? Not as many in Newcastle as North Tyneside but it will be interesting to see which operator/s win the 18, 32, 35, 75, 76 and 84/84A. I'm guessing Stagecoach for 18, 32, 35 and 75 and GCT for 76 and 84/84A but just a feeling.

Is it not just most likely that GNE / Stagecoach retain the routes they already had with GCT pinching a few.
