Ye, i think that too, that work killed the 6 off too. Stagecoach killed the service off when it took on the roll of service 6 route and also killed it off many years ago when there axed the evenings and Sundays services which forced customers to change into the town centre for onward travel Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk RE: Stagecoach North East: Upcoming Service Changes - idiot - 26 Sep 2020 That is also true. Was essentially a lot of oaps used it on the evening and Sundays to. Especially airshow weekend RE: Stagecoach North East: Upcoming Service Changes - Michael - 26 Sep 2020 (25 Sep 2020, 11:23 am)Economic505 wrote On VOSA today, 18/18A Sunderland timetable change 26th Oct. According to bustimes.org, the change is: 11 Sep 20 26 Oct 20 Registered 18/18A.Revised timetable. 0841 ex Southwick to depart 0903 and operate to off peak running times. Operating between Sunderland and Grangetown or Gilley Law given service number 1819 / 18 / 18A effective from 26 October 2020. Seems like its heading that way.Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if they withdrew the 18. Stagecoach have a tendency to withdraw these kind of 'round the houses' routes. It's a shame if it goes like the 5/ 5A. They both provided local links and not just into town and back. The 18 is a shadow of it's former glory now. ![]() RE: Stagecoach North East: Upcoming Service Changes - Economic505 - 26 Sep 2020 The old PTE service 121/122 was a service I used frequently as a kid. Tunstall Rd terminus to Seaburn via the Town. These were replaced in 1983 by 118/119. RE: Stagecoach North East: Upcoming Service Changes - GrahamD83 - 26 Sep 2020 Does anyone know if Sunderland will be introducing the changes they had planned for April 2020 which included a new route 22? Apart from swapping the southern termini of the 4/23 and renumbering 23 to 22 they have basically introduced the April changes - which were otherwise just the frequency cuts iirc. RE: Stagecoach North East: Upcoming Service Changes - Acky81 - 26 Sep 2020 No changes have taken place yet to my knowledge RE: Stagecoach North East: Upcoming Service Changes - Michael - 26 Sep 2020 (26 Sep 2020, 6:44 pm)Acky81 wrote No changes have taken place yet to my knowledge Although, not official, I would say that the current frequency times, may end up being the the permeant times for the future... 3 - every 12 minutes on full route (now running both Gilley Law and Farringdon instead of split) 4 - every 12 minutes 8 - same as pre-covid 10/11 - same as pre-covid 12 - every 12 minutes 13 - every 30 minutes 16 - every 12 minutes 18 - Hourly but the timetable, ripped apart (close to be withdrawn) 20 - every 10 minutes 23 - every 12 minutes E1/E2/E6 - same as pre-covid X24/X34 - same as pre-covid Although surprised to see the 13 every 30 minutes still. Saturday timetables are still really reduced.. with the 23 for example being only every 30 minutes instead of every 12 minutes. Was essentially a lot of oaps used it on the evening and Sundays to.It connected a lot of people to Asda from the likes of Grindon and Thorney Close etc. It was a well used service for estates where not everyone owns a car but wanted to do some shopping at a larger store. Why Stagecoach couldn’t see that continues to baffle me. RE: Stagecoach North East: Upcoming Service Changes - Acky81 - 27 Sep 2020 Why would the 13 be every 30 minutes? My post was just a list of the current frequencies and my predication of them staying the same for a while or even permanent, after this pandemic is over.... although, remember those dupe buses Stagecoach promised, haven't seen one at all on the 16 or 23.... Except on a Saturday when for some reason both services run every 20 mins - giving a combined 10 mins frequency. No idea why 12/13 need increased capacity on Saturdays, when the rest of the operation is scaled back compared to Mon-Fri. Much less confusing to the passengers and it already happens on Saturdays. Strange not to have them for weekdays as well. The 12/ 13 are quite well used as well. RE: Stagecoach North East: Upcoming Service Changes - Acky81 - 27 Sep 2020 Strange how there’s more 12s than 13s too considering the 13 is the full time route where as the 12 is only mon-sat daytimes RE: Stagecoach North East: Upcoming Service Changes - V514DFT - 28 Sep 2020 Strange things happen in Stagecoach land RE: Stagecoach North East: Upcoming Service Changes - Gonorth91 - 29 Sep 2020 Has anyone got into bygone era i cant as im looking for a old bus service in newcastle the 34 ran from central to wallsend if anyone has any pics are anything RE: Stagecoach North East: Upcoming Service Changes - V514DFT - 29 Sep 2020 It was the 34/34A/35/35A if i remember rightly, must of been round about 2005 when they bit the dust, as im sure thats when the Q's were introduced, but i can get in to Bygone Era perfectly fine RE: Stagecoach North East: Upcoming Service Changes - ASX_Terranova - 29 Sep 2020 (29 Sep 2020, 1:05 pm)V514DFT wrote It was the 34/34A/35/35A if i remember rightly, must of been round about 2005 when they bit the dust, as im sure thats when the Q's were introduced, but i can get in to Bygone Era perfectly fineI cant access the bygone era either, posted about it in the site queries thread RE: Stagecoach North East: Upcoming Service Changes - Storx - 29 Sep 2020 (29 Sep 2020, 12:33 pm)Gonorth91 wrote Has anyone got into bygone era i cant as im looking for a old bus service in newcastle the 34 ran from central to wallsend if anyone has any pics are anything https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/news/north-east-news/gearing-up-for-a-battle-1585189 - There's an article on it there, seems to be scrapped when the Quaylink came into existance. There's a network map of Stagecoach in 2005 before it went aswell which has it on, pretty much the Q3 nowadays even known there was a gap of about 10 year where it didn't exist. Bit off topic but it's quite impressive how similar the network is today. RE: Stagecoach North East: Upcoming Service Changes - Gonorth91 - 29 Sep 2020 Yeah from the Newcastle Theatre the old 34 follows the now Q3 route RE: Stagecoach North East: Upcoming Service Changes - V514DFT - 30 Sep 2020 Look how many services they had 15 years ago, do you have anything earlier than that one you posted? |
