I see it's been posted elsewhere that 3x Brighton & Hove OmniDekkas have been spotted at Wetherby today, in the form of 601 GX03SVF, 602 GX03SVG and 622 YN04 GJJ.

Durham Road beside Bede Campus heading into Sunderland closed services 20 and 35 diverted via Premier Road and Silksworth Lane

Pretty sure the 35 doesn't run on a Sunday....

But according to the Stagecoach website it was closed at 18.00 on Saturday night, and there is a 35 journey that runs down there after that

4 have been reported. 603 (GX03 SVJ) was arriving as the person who reported the other three was leaving.

I know haha

Are they to be mixed between depots or all allocated to the same depot?
It's been said on here Chester-Le-Street could receive them.

It's rare I get anything other than a Hybrid on the 21.

I have the ability to see which vehicles are allocated to the Angel every day, and I can tell you now that there aren't five Hybrids off the road every single day.

At a PVR of 17, it would be only right to expect at least one (possibly two) corporate liveried vehicles on the service every day.

These corporate liveried vehicles will be allocated to certain running boards (if possible), providing they've been allocated from start of service. They'll be allocated to these running boards as they're likely to be the ones which return to the depot earliest.

There's nowt on the GNE website (it will also affect the Scarlet Band service), but Pelaw Bank will be shut 17th July for the week, between the hours of 0930 and 1530.

Diversions galore and (I hope), some sort of shuttle bus.
One to keep an eye on.

6056 and 6070 are two that seem to have frequent problems from what I've observed. I'm sure 6070 has significantly less mileage on it than the rest of them. They're not the best mechanically, some drivers love them though. But then some are pleased when a straight-diesel is allocated to the board they're on.

I don't know if it has been mentioned here in the past, apologies if it has, but, the NSA's on the 21....

Shipcote. On the NSA's it is at first pronounced 'Ship-Cot' and then Shipcote.

Which on pretty much every bus leads to someone saying 'It's Shipcote, not Ship-Cot'

Emma is currently in the process of recording new announcements for the Angel to be rolled out shortly.

(09 Jul 2016, 8:03 am)Adrian wrote Forgive my ignorance, but what's to not understand? Two services that share a common section of route, with almost a grouped brand? Makes perfect sense to me, and the colour will clearly help to differentiate the two to a customer.

Same concept applies to the Citylink 57 and 58.

Forgive my ignorance, but the common section of route is only Gateshead Interchange to Team Valley North.  The routes deviate at every other point.  If the new 11/11A operate the same way as the Green Arrow from Newcastle to Gateshead, it's a bit better.

RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - July 2016 - palatine3833 - 11 Jul 2016

(09 Jul 2016, 10:44 am)Dan wrote As Adrian said - two services which share a common route have been grouped together by having a similar brand name, albeit on a different base coat. This gives Go North East some clear messages to sell to people in Gateshead and Newcastle, and allows the company to present things such as combined frequencies etc to key points along the route (ie Metrocentre).

This concept is not new, but it's something which appears to becoming more of a common trend now so perhaps we'll see more of it in the future in other areas. One of the first times this was used was of course with the Fab56 and Fab57, but in its current form, service 57 was actually linked more to service 58 than to service 56, which is why these services are now grouped together under the "Citylink" brand.

I'm sure Go North East could have come up with something else if they so wished, but it's clear to me that marketing the links to the more successful 97 service is of greater importance to the company than coming up with a random brand name to encompass the new 11 service. Regardless of what the service is actually branded as, it's a huge step up for the current 96 service. Having route branding on this service allows potential for growth, and it brings it on the hierarchy of receiving newer vehicles in future.

Sorry Dan, but it wouldn't have been a huge step up for the 96 service had it not had a step down a few years ago.  If you remember it was route branded 'The Highwayman' with 04-plate Merits.

Speaking of 'The Highwayman', there's your case for similar routes receiving the same brand.  All services operating between Newcastle, Gateshead and Lobley Hill received the name, albeit a complicated one to new users, but it shows it's nothing new.

(10 Jul 2016, 6:46 am)citaro5284 wrote The 58 is going to operate every 12 minutes according to the new timetable online, so you could not have every other one like now going to Hadrian Park and the service must not warrant everyone going to Hadrian Park, so replace that section of route with the 57 that operates on a 20 minute frequency as the Hadrian Park extension does now so the service is maintained, quite simple really Tongue

Is it totally unrelated that they'll need Versas for the extension to the Q3? Tongue

Nobody said that the routes needed to be identical to eachother. The changes state that the new 11/11A will exit Newcastle via the High Level Bridge, which is the same way as the Green Arrow services.

I'm not saying that they have to be identical.  What I'm saying is, they don't have anything in common bar the Newcastle to Lobley Hill section.  That was the reason we were given for the Highwayman being withdrawn, because it was 'too complicated'.

Both services operate between Newcastle, Gateshead, Lobley Hill and Metrocentre. Yes they do split off from eachother after Lobley Hill, as you have pointed out already, but the link between the routes is still present.

On a similar note, the 8 and 78 both fall under the 'Coast & Country' brand but after Chester-le-Street, the routes don't come together again until Sunderland. I suppose its different as it is grouping the Stanley to Sunderland services together but they certainly don't follow eachother anywhere near as much as the old Diamond routes, for example. I'm sure other brands will be similar.

309/310 is another one in my opinion, people could argue that the 310 doesnt really touch the cobalt in compariaon to the 309 but it still falls under cobalt clipper, and both services split twice

I've always found it amusing that the Geminis only mention 'the fast and frequent link between Newcastle and North Shields', not if it's on the 309 though Smile
