Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - November 2019 - streetdeckfan - 13 Nov 2019 Im regretting trying to travel down to Bishop tonight with all the delays. I only just managed to make it to Gateshead from Newcastle with the very short notice GNE gave that the X21 wasn't going to Newcastle Why can't there be a service between Consett and Bishop that cuts out Durham! If I wanted to go look at some lights I would have stayed in IKEA Sent from my LM-G710 using Tapatalk RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - November 2019 - Malarkey - 13 Nov 2019 (13 Nov 2019, 5:19 pm)JP6004 wrote MG retweeted about wrightbus back at work building and delivering buses. Hopefully not long before street decks arrive Good to see them back in business however I still think ADL make a better product, been on two of the new E400's on the X30 and I personally thought they were excellent although I will say I do a small soft spot for a few of the Angel Streetdecks as a couple of them have a bit of oomphh about them. Also with having a bit more time to do things with have a week off I took rare opportunity to go a bit scenic with my photos of the E400's, I must be feeling a tad unwell. 6338 - 6339 - Also noted on his twitter is one of the corporate liveried versa's has been repainted black, I have noticed 8320 has been a regular on the 6 over past week having photographed both yesterday and today, maybe an indication as to where some of the Versas will be allocated in the not so distant future.

I hope if they're redesigning brands on the Versa's then the fleet numbers will be in order, they seem all over. anyone know which Versa is in for repaint? - it could be a advert which is going on the Versa too? I only just managed to make it to Gateshead from Newcastle with the very short notice GNE gave that the X21 wasn't going to Newcastle It's not Lumiere, tonight. Preparations have made traffic heavier than usual but there is a collapsed manhole on Leazes Road, near new Elvet and there was a serious accident on Margery Lane, this afternoon, requiring someone to be cut out of their car, which would have taken the overload beyond tipping point. Isn't Beamish closed this time of year though, I only say that as the driver I had on the 8 this morning turned left at the entrance rather than going in as I expected. Thinking about it, I've been there over the winter period a few times over the years. Closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Years Day, and Mondays and Fridays from 6th January 2020 to 14th February 2020. Just had a thought on the bus that was mentioned being Beamish branded. The new bus depot is due to open soon at the museum so I’m guessing this is part of a promotion as Go North East has something to do with the construction of it from what I remember what was said when I visited Hownsgill Depot with the Northern Group Enthusiasts Club last month. Lack of driver usually, whether this be through a no-show, or previous incident on the drivers shift. It's a vehicle either broken down or so severely delayed that it can't make it to the right place at the right time. If it's the message about the 50, one passed me, on the way into Durham, at 16:05, either 5 minutes early or 25 minutes late. i saw the tweet about the 15:57 not running, so I'm guessing 25 minutes late. This time yesterday, GNE were terminating services at County hall and running shuttles to the bus station so they could turn around again without being too badly delayed. RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - November 2019 - Dans_bus_photos - 15 Nov 2019 With 5230/32 now at Deptford and on the 56, have some of the B9s left for refurbishment? What confused me was the fact that I'd it was a breakdown, they usually say "due to a breakdown" or if it's a delay they say something like "due to delays on the inbound journey", which is why I thought operational issues would be neither of those things? RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - November 2019 - streetdeckfan - 15 Nov 2019 (15 Nov 2019, 6:20 pm)big mac wroteIt could also just depend on who's writing the post. Or maybe they've just reached the quota for the breakdowns/lates so they have to switch to a more vague reason Sent from my LM-G710 using Tapatalk RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - November 2019 - Andreos1 - 15 Nov 2019 (15 Nov 2019, 6:20 pm)big mac wrote My own thoughts are that it's an easy cop out for them. It could mean many things, but experience/cynicism gives me the impression that the vagueness of it indicates that its something to do with maintenance or a rota issue. Looks easier on the eye than something along the lines of a 'breakdown' or 'lack of available drivers'. Can't say I blame them really, lately I'm so sick of hearing the phrase "the [insert time] Northern/TransPennine Express service to [wherever] has been cancelled, this is due to a shortage of train crew" almost every time I get a train lately, the urge not to complain to them about it is becoming more and more difficult to resist. Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - November 2019 - ryan.c.lawrence.5 - 15 Nov 2019 Wasn't it said but 5230 and 5232 are only at deptford on loan . Also Cobalt and Coasts are the only B9TLs to get refurbished. I'd imagine a retrim of some sort to happen next year Sent from my SM-G955F using Tapatalk RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - November 2019 - JP6004 - 15 Nov 2019 (15 Nov 2019, 10:58 pm)ryan.c.lawrence.5 wrote Wasn't it said but 5230 and 5232 are only at deptford on loan . Though, in fairness, there were no tracks for any train to run on, earlier this evening. That's why I just don't travel by train anymore, for the places I usually travel to it's easier, faster and cheaper to just fly, or if we have time we just take the car. Plus, if I wanted to sit on an ironing board for a few hours, I'd just do a few laps on the 26 rather than pay LNER for the 'privilege' of riding an Azuma! I suppose the only downside would be not being able to get a PlusBus ticket to explore the area RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - November 2019 - Andreos1 - 16 Nov 2019 (15 Nov 2019, 9:00 pm)Jimmi wrote Can't say I blame them really, lately I'm so sick of hearing the phrase "the [insert time] Northern/TransPennine Express service to [wherever] has been cancelled, this is due to a shortage of train crew" almost every time I get a train lately, the urge not to complain to them about it is becoming more and more difficult to resist. I wonder if the regulation that's left on the rails, means they can't bull$hit3 passengers with pithy excuses? Tocs: 'Missed your last connecting train - here's a complementary taxi to counter the inconvenience'. 'Delayed over 30mins or more? You can apply for delay repay'. Bus ops: 'soz N that, operational issues mean you're gonna have to pay for a taxi home or arrange a lift, cos we have cancelled the last bus'. 'Due to operational issues, you're going to have to hang around for half an hour and wait for the next one as we've span it round at Gateshead' As frustrating as it may be, I appreciate the apparent transparency offered by the tocs in situations like this. Rather than patter which could mean anything and everything and doesn't help the passenger at all. RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - November 2019 - L469 YVK - 16 Nov 2019 Despite being non stop services, are drivers on the TVT and X-Lines (X45/46/47) instructed to operate via the Teams even non stop (rather than via Pitz Soccer & Lookers Ford) in case the 97 needs to be regulated? |
