RE: Go North East - State of the Fleet - X919 WGR - 31 May 2026 (31 May 2026, 11:29 am)L469 YVK wrote Which services asides from the 56 will be due new vehicles this year? X10 Needs something fresh 100% X21 100% I Do Think these should also be in conversation of getting new vehicles: - the Venture Network: V1, V2, V5 would be nice to have something new after 13 Years. - Diamond 16/16A: Just Something Fresh and more comfortable. - 27: Again Something fresh from the 14/15 Year old Gemini 2s RE: Go North East - State of the Fleet - Malarkey - 31 May 2026 I'd say at least 120 New Buses need ordering which is a massive investment, this does not include orders for the 56/307/309 as we are already aware of potential new buses for these services. 70 - Midi/Full Size Deckers [*]50 - Double Deckers [*]New Buses would replace anything new 2012-2014 which in turn would see a large chunk of the existing fleet withdrawn, pretty sure you could guess which services these would be going on given they've had nothing new since or have had repeat cascades from other services or are operating with second/third hand vehicles. I actually forgot about electric buses on order for those services. RE: Go North East - State of the Fleet - L469 YVK - 01 Jun 2026 Just seen this and given GNE's ties with ADL, why don't they make an approach to ADL & Volvo for a 12m version or......encourage Volvo to come forward with a two-axile B8TL giving competition with the Cummins Wright Ultroliner? Would definitely win orders from GNE! RE: Go North East - State of the Fleet - F114TML - 07 Jun 2026 NL72 EVA running around in base Voltra - no branding and no fleetnumbers that I could see. Wrightbus do offer a 12m version with a Double Rear Axle for the Hong Kong market alongside a 12.8m version. I believe Alexander Dennis and MCV also offer the same with their Bodywork applied. Lothian Buses have ordered 60 12.8m Single Door version with Alexander Dennis in the last week, so I guess if there is demand from operators then they'll happily build them if they're big orders otherwise if your like Shitty Transport and your begging for just one then it's not worthwhile. RE: Go North East - State of the Fleet - Retro Nero - 08 Jun 2026 Anyone know what has happened to 6400 ? Hasn't been out since 13 May! RE: Go North East - State of the Fleet - Malarkey - 08 Jun 2026 (08 Jun 2026, 6:35 pm)Retro Nero wrote Anyone know what has happened to 6400 ? Believe it was the one involved in a RTC in Newcastle City Centre at Castle Keep a few weeks back. Ok !! Thanks RE: Go North East - State of the Fleet - MCN881L - 09 Jun 2026 6400 was parked at the front of Washington depot, when I passed yesterday. So she's back. RE: Go North East - State of the Fleet - NEtransport - 09 Jun 2026 6101 is not allowed into the Newcastle CAZ. Probably explains why it spends most of its time on the 340/341 while Streetlites end up on the X39/307/309. I'm guessing this is fairly recent since it was in Newcastle end of May 5466 managed to block Newcastle Bank out of Birtley this morning at rush hour which was entertaining RE: Go North East - State of the Fleet - deanmachine - 09 Jun 2026 (09 Jun 2026, 8:07 am)NEtransport wrote 6101 is not allowed into the Newcastle CAZ. The B9s apparently keep needing to be reregistered to be able to use the CAZ, and for some reason they keep lapsing. Not sure if it's admin falling behind or what. Same story as to why there's City Riders on random routes in Sunderland and X-Lines B5s on the 56. RE: Go North East - State of the Fleet - Malarkey - 09 Jun 2026 What's the situation with the E200EV's not being fully allocated to the X66 as I have noticed both yesterday and today at least two of them have been allocated to the 49/49A/96. Have the bigwigs at GNE Towers realised they're not suitable capacity wise for the X66. Seems to be issues at Arriva aswell; 7553/7621/7630/7635 are all stuck on locals at Ashington, the last 2 for a few weeks now so it's not just a GNE issue. RE: Go North East - State of the Fleet - X919 WGR - 29 Jun 2026 I Guess my question suits this thread more. So with the recent repaints, why are they ignoring the remaining CountryRanger livery Streetlites? I thought they should of been long done by now. Unless a possible 2026 Livery on the horizon for them? RE: Go North East - State of the Fleet - Annfield East - 02 Jul 2026 6336 noted being dragged by an Alpha recovery vehicle, heading East along the A692 Leadgate Bypass at 1135 today. RE: Go North East - State of the Fleet - BusLoverMum - 08 Jul 2026 6301 abandoned, barely out of Durham bus station on its way out on a 50, this afternoon. RE: Go North East - State of the Fleet - idiot - 11 Jul 2026 Why are destination blinds constantly showing On Diversion when there on route? RE: Go North East - State of the Fleet - Arlo400H - 11 Jul 2026 (11 Jul 2026, 8:50 pm)idiot wrote Why are destination blinds constantly showing On Diversion when there on route? i believe its due to some minor diversions around gateshead because of the flyover works RE: Go North East - State of the Fleet - deanmachine - 12 Jul 2026 (11 Jul 2026, 8:50 pm)idiot wrote Why are destination blinds constantly showing On Diversion when there on route? `It's to inform passengers that the bus will be on a diversion. The passenger asks about the diversion and sees if it effects them, it's working quite well. RE: Go North East - State of the Fleet - idiot - 12 Jul 2026 Oh so it displays for the whole of the route if just a small part of the route is diverted? Surely it would be better if it went back to normal after the diversion? But what if someone gets on at the start of the route, but is planning to get off in the section where the service is diverted but is unaware of the disruption? I think he means that (for example) someone catching a 21 from Durham to Brandon doesn’t need to know that it’s been diverted in Gateshead. RE: Go North East - State of the Fleet - WestDurhamSwift - 13 Jul 2026 the 60 plate Geminis that were at GNW appear to have been sold to Tyrers so aint heading North. the other 2 61 Plates 3289/90 still showing on GNW fleet lits but wouldn't be surprised if they rocked up at Riverside. |
