Stagecoach North East Latest News - tyresmoke - 01 Feb 2024 Believe Stagecoach tend to repaint on a 3 year rolling program but first one lasts 5 years. Obviously there’ll be exceptions to this but they’re 69 plates so maybe next winter? The 16 plate 400 MMCs seem to be getting done now, a lot of the 66 plate single decks need to be aswell RE: Stagecoach North East Latest News - Lottie332 - 02 Feb 2024 it appears 27162s been spray painted rather than done by hand after repaint RE: Stagecoach North East Latest News - stagecoachbusdepot - 03 Feb 2024 (02 Feb 2024, 1:47 pm)toward6931 wrote The 16 plate 400 MMCs seem to be getting done now, a lot of the 66 plate single decks need to be aswell Was gonna say, 3 or 5 years might be the aspiration but seems more like 7-8 is typical and not unusual to see buses running round in original paint jobs at 10 years (several gas buses and various E200s until recently, and god only knows how long 19385 has had that Club22 branding) RE: Stagecoach North East Latest News - glen - 03 Feb 2024 I thought that 69 reg over 5 years now that there be repaint now I thought that buses 5 years get repaint? RE: Stagecoach North East Latest News - col87 - 03 Feb 2024 whatever happens this year stagecoach are going to have to get buses from somewhere for Hartlepool and Stockton. As much as I love the darts and man 18.220 the fact Hartlepool still has 2 04 plate darts in service really needs to be sorted. I think the last remaining 08 plate manviro in 39663 is probably going to be withdrawn in the next few month as well. So that’s 3 buses ideally needing to be replaced. As for the rest of the fleet most of it seems knackered as well. Ideally at least 4-5 new buses are needed for the 59 ( 3 in service and 1 or 2 spares ) as going to Durham and back when they already struggling won’t really be helping either. I don’t want to bring the issue of the pits back up but looking at them the 277s enviro 300s might just be able to manage the pits as they seem roughly about the same size as the manviro 200s so if Stockton can get cascades from somewhere I think 6 buses can be moved to Hartlepool in 4 of the 277s and the two remaining 18.220s that can see off the two darts from main service ( going into a reserve roll) and 39663 as well as the two worst Enviro 200s. That leaves the question of Cascades and where they coming from though. If Stockton gets successful with the Zebra funding that will help but in the short term if Manchester or London have buses ( especially deckers ) that need to be cascaded out then got 8 of them if possible for the 12, 13, 36, 37, 38 and 59 services. RE: Stagecoach North East Latest News - glen - 03 Feb 2024 It saying that Stockton are getting electric buses now that want it say but when I don't know? RE: Stagecoach North East Latest News - glen - 03 Feb 2024 Why should Stockton depot and hartlepool depot be getting cascades all time it Stockton and hartlepool depot new buses that I think ? RE: Stagecoach North East Latest News - col87 - 03 Feb 2024 (03 Feb 2024, 2:48 am)glen wrote Why should Stockton depot and hartlepool depot be getting cascades all time it Stockton and hartlepool depot new buses that I think ? your right they shouldn’t especially Hartlepool but let’s be realistic here Stagecoach are not going to buy new buses for the area anytime soon so cascades are the only option ( outside of funds been giving like zebra ). Hartlepool needs better buses so the only way to get them is cascades. Now looking at North East as a whole if Sunderland or Newcastle are successful in getting new buses that might free up some buses to send to Hartlepool and Stockton. If things get desperate in the next 12 months I suppose providing as long as they still in one piece they could temporarily bring some of the remaining Man 18.220 still at Stockton back into service as well. The recent cascades to Stockton are probably good for another 3-5 years though so they won’t be going anywhere. Looking at the fleet realistically within the next 12 month the following will be withdrawn from front line service Stockton. 05 plate Enviro 300s ( 4 ) Man 18.220. ( 2 ). Hartlepool 04 plate Dennis Dart SLF (2) Manviro 200s. (at least 1) Some of the 34 and 36 fleet as well which is unreliable. If you bring cascades in which are newer then the 2 04 plate darts can be used as reserves ( on paper they already are but are often still in use 7 days a week) and it should in theory see off the worse buses. Same with Stockton while nice buses and I like riding them if I get a chance the enviros and 18.220 should not be in daily use still and need to be replaced so cascades are the only way to do that. Credit to the engineering teams and Transbus really for building buses that have lasted this long but really newer buses need to be brought in. Saying that as long as they continue to be in decent condition I would happily see them for several more years. If, they win the ZEBRA 2 bid then there's 63 electric buses due between Redcar (Arriva), Darlington (Arriva) and Stockton (Stagecoach). What routes, as far as I'm aware, isn't in public domain though. I'd be surprised if it's not the 12 or 36/37/38 with Stagecoach though as they were the principal corridors for upgrades in an earlier TVCA document. RE: Stagecoach North East Latest News - F114TML - 03 Feb 2024 35224, 34833 and another Dart have been seen in Sunderland. That would certainly see off the enviro 300 and man 18.220s. (03 Feb 2024, 12:48 pm)Michael wrote Bet they end up at Stockton or Hartlepool. Hartlepool is very likely considering they are already a few darts here. Would likely see off 39663 and possibly a few of the 09 plates. Btw the 6 in Hartlepool seems to be on the list of Bus Improvement Corridors under the TVCA plans, not sure what means though. It don’t seem to mean anything as you go back to 2008 and the manviro 200s for the last time Hartlepool got new buses. I am definitely interested in trying to found out if they is any plans though. I sure as well that Stockton need full size buses so unless they planning new routes I don’t really see any darts going there, if it did though you can almost guarantee it would end up on the 36 with people squashed in. RE: Stagecoach North East Latest News - stagecoachfan - 03 Feb 2024 Stagecoach East Scotland Plaxton Elite 53719 was in Newcastle today on a private hire. Saw it face to face and it was also tracking on bus times - it seemed to stop moving close to Newcastle racecourse. Hi. Just to clarify. Kettering does not have town services as such, mainly inter-urban: Kettering to Northampton, Peterborough, Corby, Market Harborough, Wellingborough etc, but they still have some of the oldest buses in the area, such as ADL Enviro 400 19020 (MX56XAV) and ADL Enviro 200 36155 (KX60DPV). Possibly something to 'divert' to if needed and building knowledge just in case. Just by looking at the timetables you can see that the 36/37/38 cycle just doesn't have enough time to begin with, needs another bus to allow it to slacken off. Going via Teesdale, is slightly slower albeit more predictable. It will probably make it worse overall. RE: Stagecoach North East Latest News - Storx - 05 Feb 2024 I'm not sure which route these are but wonder if it might be this: After a procurement process in collaboration with the relevant authorities, TVCA has awarded the services listed below, which are expected to begin operating in February 2024 and will run for an initial 1-year trial period: • A new service, or an existing service extension, covering Riverside Park (Middlesbrough). • Wynyard service covering key employment sites (Stockton) It's quite close to the Riverside Park area in Middlesbrough and is a 'key employment site' in Stockton aswell. https://teesvalley-ca.gov.uk/about/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2024/01/Transport-Committee-Agenda-Papers-23rd-January-2024-fv.pdf - Page 21 in here. Other than the X10 and X12, there's either a walk to/from Stockton or a walk to/from Thornaby Station. Could diverting the 36/37/38 improve access and therefore justify the diversion?
