One option could be for these to go on the 35 (as they all are today coincidentally) displacing the 8320-8327 which are Euro 6 compliant. If these went to Washington for the 25/28/29 the Streetlites could go to Percy Main, with the Orbits split between Percy Main and Consett. Can't see them going to Washington for the second time, they had severe issues last time. Remember there's: 6308 - 6314, assuming the Streetdeck's go on the X21 otherwise you've got the Streetlite's either. 5380 - 5390 5442 - 5452 Ex London Deckers which are all E6 and could potentially be used. I don't know what the loads are like but wherever 6308 - 6314 go could release singles to go to Consett. I've heard the 20/20A being mentioned though which could release some of the Sunderland Streetlite's to Consett. If the E200s were to go elsewhere, 8320-8327 could then go on 6. Deptford would have less uses for those versas if the 39 goes to solos. Yes 8339-46 are now allocated to 35s from today RE: Go North East September 2023 changes - Michael - 24 Jul 2023 (21 Jul 2023, 5:49 pm)Michael wrote 3rd September 2023: School contract changes? 351 - Revised route and timetable 353 - Route and timetable change 354 - Revised route and timetable 307/309 - Revised route (service 307) 27 - Revised route and timetable Rest are timetable changes ------------- So it looks like the full routes for the 351-355 are going to be: 351: Newcastle to Holystone via Hadrian Lodge, Benton Asda, Scaffold Hill, Holystone Park 352: Newcastle, Haymarket Bus Station to Cramlington, Dudley Lane Shops via Freeman Hospital, Killingworth, Dudley 353: North Shields to Cramlington via Cobalt Park, Shiremoor, Forest Hall, Killingworth, Burradon 354: Newcastle to North Shields via South Gosforth Roundabout, Four Lane Ends, Quorum Park, Cobalt Park, Shiremoor 355: Forest Hall to Newcastle via South Gosforth Roundabout, Longbenton Estate, Forest Hall RE: Go North East September 2023 changes - V514DFT - 24 Jul 2023 (10 Jul 2023, 7:50 pm)L469 YVK wrote 22 - PVR would reduce by 1x. There's quite a few adjustments for it and the Stagecoach 317 mentions it in their change. Will likely just be the new interchange and I don't believe Stagecoach have registered a variation for the 22. Plus the 51 looks to be getting tendered out as the 351. Going from dialogue with Nexus, Hadrian Park must still make money for GNE plus the bang on 10 minute combined frequency with the 309 via High Farm. According to the correspondence, GNE & Stagecoach expressed no interest in making retrospective changes to services 307 or 22. RE: Go North East September 2023 changes - Storx - 27 Jul 2023 Must say I'll be very surprised if the 352 and 355 see out beyond March 2024, the 352 in particular. There's very limited reason to use them unless you only travel Monday to Friday day times when Stagecoach are covering them with a more frequent service and an evening / Sunday service with cheaper fares to boot. Even the 353, I wouldn't be surprised if it's a Killingworth to North Shields only service aswell for similar reasons on the Northern end of the route, with the 19 the same frequency and quicker for Cramlington to North Shields / Cobalt passengers. Definitely agree with your point on the evening/Sunday offerning, but Stagecoach fares aren't cheaper. Go North East's day ticket for the area is £4.30, compared to £5.00 on Stagecoach. Go North East's weekly ticket is £16.00 vs £17.00 on Stagecoach. Flexi5 is also £20.00 with Stagecoach, compared to £17.00 with Go North East. Go North East's day ticket also covers Cramlington - I'm assuming on Stagecoach you will need to buy a Tyne and Wear Plus Day/week ticket with is more expensive to cover Northumberland. (as is the arrangment with Ponteland and Hexham) RE: Go North East September 2023 changes - Storx - 27 Jul 2023 (27 Jul 2023, 12:00 pm)Thomas12 wrote Definitely agree with your point on the evening/Sunday offerning, but Stagecoach fares aren't cheaper. Must admit, I've missed those Stagecoach hikes, they weren't £5 the last time I looked and that wasn't too long ago (don't use them admit that). Yeah think they've gone from around £4 to £5 in less than a year to be honest. Aye I thought it was £4.30 or £15.50 a week, not sure where those numbers come from but they're from somewhere. I can only imagine the 352 was planned thinking that Stagecoach wouldn't extend to Cramlington. That they are extending to Cramlington, are offering a far greater level of service than GNE plan to, and have funding for the evening service probably means the 352 is DOA. Similarly, it's surprising that Nexus are funding the evening section of the 38 to Forest Hall, though I imagine that's likely due to it being cheaper to do that than fund an entire service. Either way, to the general public the service with a way to get back in the evening will probably be more appealing. Yeah that's my thinking too tbf. I'm surprised they're doing the 38 aswell tbh. Doesn't seem like there's anywhere which won't have a bus service at all if I'm right. Mind it'll be interesting to see long term if we might see changes with the 62/63 or whatever one goes that way since it should be quicker. (27 Jul 2023, 7:44 pm)busmanT wrote Whickham View to Cramlington is a very lengthy route, wonder what the reliability will be like? In fairness the GNE route is longer really as the 352, 353, 354, 355 are all interworking. There's a lot of space for that to go wrong. It's just not noticeable currently as Arriva regulate services at Haymarket and swap things around when things go really wrong something that GNE have an aversion of doing. It's ultimately going to be a similar length to the 22, so it's not as if Stagecoach don't have experience running long routes. Crikey, they might even have knowledge of how to regulate late running trips on said long routes. Obviously service regulation and timekeeping is a novel concept for GNE, and the idea of a long route would be totally out of the question for them. https://bustimes.org/services/1-whitley-bay-gateshead-via-tynemouth-north-shield RE: Go North East September 2023 changes - Unber43 - 27 Jul 2023 (27 Jul 2023, 7:55 pm)Storx wrote Yeah that's my thinking too tbf. Unless that's changed, can't see GNE allowing a 20+ minute layover at Haymarket for the 355 to interwork with the 352 & 354. However, I do note that conveniently.....the main part of the 355 times marry up with the @ xx:15 307 and @ xx:45 309 departures. So could interwork with the 307 or 309 unless the 355 will be wholly standalone with remote reliefs at Palmersville or an intentioned long 20+ minute layover at Haymarket 'just in case' given how unpredictable some parts of the 352/354/355 can be for traffic. Only way to get hold of the proposed bus timetables, either you know someone who works for the bus conpanies in the affected area, or wait until it’s leaked out, or contact VOSA and pay a high fee for copies of timetables etc… which have been logged/registered with VOSA, also copies would be sent out to bus companies, local authorities to see if there’s any impact for any secured journeys if needed, or as Michael have mentioned above post to just wait until there are released in the public domain.
