The changes and new timetables for Teesside effective November 5th are now online: https://www.stagecoachbus.com/service-updates/serviceupdatesarticle?SituationId=ID-17/10/2023-17:22:05:240 Main points to note are: 35 - serving Norton Grange again and terminating on Stockton High Street North 36/37/38 - most trips now via Teesside Park with frequency changes, now combined 10 min frequency on the joint section of the routes, buses will then continue every 20 minutes to Billingham and Hartlepool as Service 36, hourly as Service 37 to University Hospital of North Tees, or as Service 38 twice an hour to Norton Glebe. 57/58 - revised timetable. On Saturdays, buses will follow a timetable which is more consistent with weekdays. 59 - extended to Middlesbrough every 15 mins via Middlesbrough Road & Stockton Road (current all day 36/37/38 route), times are spaced to essentially provide a combined 7/8 minute frequency between Middlesbrough & Stockton High Street in tandem with Arriva's X66/X67 during the daytime, albeit taking slightly different routes. How about Stagecoach try this? Would possibly need an evening & Sunday service to make it worthwhile. TNE, Arriva & GNE have come up with nothing productive on the Coast Road other than amalgamate routes. What's it with you constantly suggesting the Coast road is bad. Every post is the same Your not saying GNE & Arriva have with nothing productive. So the whole coast road agreement is nothing then. Why you'd want less services I have no idea. Personally I'd make it a loop through to Grangetown and City Centre. Its not like Stagecoach Sunderland are struggling other than for drivers - which I mentioned earlier are for scholars anyhow. The 18/18A is one of those routes that really needs to be looked at under BSIP and someone decide what exactly is the point of it. It goes to a lot of places, but I'm failing to see exactly anything of real note on the whole route, it avoids both Sainsbury's stores, it avoids Doxford Park to the South, avoids the business park North of the water, avoids the businesses near the new bridge, avoids the businesses near the A19 near Pennywell. It's a bit bizarre route, comes across as a route designed 50 year ago and never really changed with stuff changing around it. https://www.google.com/maps/dir/Morrisons/54.863764,-1.4364315/@54.8854444,-1.4246434,1245m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m59!4m58!1m55!1m1!1s0x487e663e702e4759:0xacfd2ee9cded0801!2m2!1d-1.370404!2d54.93728!3m4!1m2!1d-1.4038103!2d54.9198723!3s0x487e65d76300f997:0xcff6bad3cd608679!3m4!1m2!1d-1.4166209!2d54.9189757!3s0x487e65cf74243f73:0xb8fb794fc0c76e55!3m4!1m2!1d-1.4192853!2d54.9124828!3s0x487e65cb90d2d3cb:0xa75b65e8f3e81597!3m4!1m2!1d-1.4157927!2d54.9033637!3s0x487e6433d62fab4d:0x2d08b6bbeee0709e!3m4!1m2!1d-1.443073!2d54.8963515!3s0x487e645a6a346d61:0xe802951d4cc58733!3m4!1m2!1d-1.4516113!2d54.8892369!3s0x487e645f800d9249:0x49f130df5f453b09!3m4!1m2!1d-1.4305606!2d54.8823115!3s0x487e646be02fdea5:0xcc2687213a98a771!3m4!1m2!1d-1.4227241!2d54.8887583!3s0x487e643f99b856a3:0xcb99ec1c6f0eb308!3m4!1m2!1d-1.4172176!2d54.8874704!3s0x487e643df4c593fb:0xf743fc13016f7f9e!3m4!1m2!1d-1.3996718!2d54.8730228!3s0x487e64025492fa95:0x2f0fd08814fb1455!1m0!3e0?entry=ttu - Something like that would be better imo, it's basically serving the same areas but you've now got Sainsburys at Silksworth, Morrison's at Doxford Park, Doxford Park Enterprise Park, Pennywell, Aldi Chester Road, Royal Hospital, Pallion Retail Park, Hylton Retail Park, Southwick, Aldi Southwick, Fulwell, Seaburn Morrisons / Beach. Connects loads of little places up for pensioners etc and they're all hard to get to, no service from Doxford Park to Silksworth etc or anywhere really North / South to the West of Sunderland. RE: Stagecoach North East: Upcoming Service Changes - F114TML - 17 Jan 2024 Around school times, the 18 and 18A are particularly well used. It's also the only bus round parts of Southwick and the back of Roker Park. It's quiet but rare for it to be completely empty. It was going to be withdrawn in July (or June whenever it was), but didn't because "it's political". The kids, mostly going to the college on Durham Road I guess, which I assume it the purpose for the long 18's(18A) still existing? |
