- Lime
4850-55 withdrawn, 4896-4902 cascaded to replace older B10BLEs

- Crusader
14x Citaros available for cascade - perhaps 9 to Stanley for "Red Kite", and the remaining 5 to Stanley for X30/X31, with a number of doors open for the cascades (one of which being the "Centurion")?

- Laser
12x Citaros available for cascade - perhaps all 12 to remain at Deptford for use on "Prince Bishops" service 20, in turn allowing the currently allocated Solars to replace B10BLEs in the fleet?

- Toon Link
4841 and 5144-50 withdrawn, 4978-82 perhaps to take a "spare role" in the fleet to replace older spare vehicles. "South Tyne" 5 comes to mind with this one too.

- Fab57
Vehicles withdrawn

Shocked to see fab57 getting investment straight away but yeah this sounds about right, same I said in the other thread. 4 Solars from Prince Bishops' over to Pulse possibly? Could we see 64/95/96 get some too under a new brand?

Pulse - Possibly - not sure on numbers though, not from the area - with spare solar's - seem's likely.

64/64A/95/96 - might rejoin the Highwayman? - Whats their PVR?

Has certainly been suggested for a good two months or so now - and not by me this time!

Well... Do you think the Pulse is gonna go red in a few weeks' time? If so, I see no problem with that suggestion. Wink

As for the 64/95/96, I doubt it - not yet.

4969/5211/5212/5213 to the ''Pulse'' services, which leaves 5214/5215/5216/5217 to go somewhere. Possibly the X70/X71?

It seems daft that all the B10's from 17/17/67/69/69A will go Northern when their inline to be withdrawn this year -.-

Even though Dan said - a good tidy up might increase value, i still think its daft their wasting money when they won't even get much for them

Gotta think - those B10BLEs have had a bit of work done to them! They're Euro 4, after all. Interiors aren't too shabby at present, but if they're given a thorough clean regardless...

If they're in a more appropriate red (rather than a tired old yellow which hasn't been repainted for a good while), operators who are less likely to be able to afford £1.5k or so for a repaint, may be more tempted to buy them.

We should hope that the current livery will be retained on the Mercs - should the PB receive them! Tongue

If GNE think it's another Crusader, it's entirely possible we'll have a cheap in-house design unfortunately.

RE: 2014 GNE Bus Order Predictions - Tom - 11 Feb 2014

This could possibly happen if the Crusader did receive investment.

Crusader Citaros:
5310-14 - Stanley for services X30 and X31.
5315-19/5328-29/30/32 to Stanley for the Red Kite Services.

Laser Citaros:
5298-5309 - Deptford for Prince Bishops.
Solars would displace Renowns.

Red Kite Omnicities:
5234-42 - Percy Main for Centurion along with 5250 which could be a branded spare.

Prince Bishops Solars:
4989-92 - Riverside for the Pulse.
4969/5211-13 - Riverside for the X40.
5214-16 - Chester-le-Street for the 71, branded as the ''Lambton Worm''. 5216 would be a spare for both the 71 and 34/34A.
5217 - Riverside for the Soccerbus.

Saying their euro 4 - then i agree - i didn't know that, as for being red, ye saves getting rid of the shabby yellow

Tom- theirs also 4989-4992 - which is still the wrong colour for the Prince Bishops on the fleet allocation

I would say

67/69/69A - 4969,4989,4890,4891,4892
--------------
Then theirs

5211,5212,5213,5214,5215,5216,5217 - Removes more B10's from frontline service.

The current Prince Bishops doesn't look cheap, i really hope its not going to be Crusader job and be rubbish - if of course they receive them Tongue

I think the Prince Bishops livery is very good so if it's a new cheap one on the Citaros I'd be disappointed slightly.

Yes, I know. PVR for the Pulse is only 4.
4989-92 - Riverside for the Pulse. (Replacing 5160/1/2/3)
4969/5211-13 - Riverside for the X40. (Replacing the tired Artics).

That's the problem. I highly doubt it was cheap.
Even though it's only a few vinyls, I'd suggest it wasn't on the cheap side.

If GNE think it is to receive investment the following year (far too early to be discussing this, but hey ho!), I'm inclined to suggest that it will be a cheaper design to get them through the year prior to yet another cascade (probably the Fast Cats, or something similar).

Yeah, mostly. It's normally on the Blaydon Racers when the Soccerbus isn't operating, but is branded for advertising.

Simple answer to that net - it was either a plain purple one or use the present branding, so easy choice to make.

As for mentions of investment for Fab57, would I be as bold as to throw something I made earlier into the speculation Wink

It looks much better on a versa than the current B10's.

Why else would you think I'd choose that rather than a Citaro (other than not presently having a decent Euro6 style Citaro net)?

I agree with you Daniel, I believe I mentioned this a few months ago in the Service Suggestions Thread or Perhaps even this Thread, and I also agree Kuyoyo has completely missed the point you were making, which was to have the 57 under the Citylink Branding along side the 58, as they are pretty similar Routes between Newcastle and Heworth, So therefore branding the 57 Citylink would make Perfect sense, Hence the Reason Dan put the Citylink Versa Image up on his Post.

Right here. Wink I'd think the X66 Merc artics would possibly suit as a replacement for the X40 Scania artics?

I would also agree... i would of also included the 56 in the Citylink brand, since it links 2 city's

so the 56,57,58 would all be under the Citylink brand

Would be a good idea - not so sure if the Scania artics would be worth as great a value as the Merc when traded in part exchange (we assume...) using Optare Direct though...

Also the issue of re-creating the X40 livery. Rather expensive that one was, and obviously required external painters (Thornton's) owing to the size of the bus and the complexity of the base livery.

RE: 2014 GNE Bus Order Predictions - Malarkey - 11 Feb 2014

Just a thought what if GNE Traded in the Following via Optare, how much Discount would they get on such a Big Order, Plus would Intu/Great Park put any Money in Towards Investment, Like the Cobalt/Npower have for the Geminis on the 309/310 and X1/921, Just Curious, As this would then Allow for Vehicles to be Withdrawn, and obviously if the Crusader/Laser/Toonlink and Lime all Receive Investment, Further Cascades would allow for Further Withdrawal of older Vehicles in the Fleet, Thus allowing for Further Standardisation of the Fleet.

X40 Artics
X66 Artics
FAB 57/Pulse/Centurion Renowns

Total of Versas = 32 Versas

Plus

28 Citaros = Lime/Toonlink
34 Geminis = Laser/Crusader

Total = 94 New Buses - Over the 80 we are Expecting this Year - But for Discount on Big Orders/Possible Investment from Intu/Great Park, Then might worth Investing in Another 14 Buses

That's a good point. I guess it comes down to the trade in cost vs replacing the Scania artics soon (12 years old now?). May be worthwhile keeping the Mercs and paying a bit extra for the Versas.
