RE: Stagecoach North East: Upcoming Service Changes - stagecoachbusdepot - 09 Oct 2024 (09 Oct 2024, 3:24 pm)busmanT wrote But BSIP funding is several £ millions whilst a Sunday improvement like this will only cost in the low £10s of thousands. Need a lot of little improvements to spend the BSIP money! It's almost as if its a blatant misuse of public money to fund returning previously commercially viable frequencies to be once again become commercially viable, but only once the taxpayer funded handouts dry up. Whether its Stagecoach, GNE or anyone else, it stinks. Learnt something new about bustimes.org today - found the above items on bustimes.org listed as Short Notice changes. Also note there are similar ones for Stagecoach CNL 685 as short notice changes. The text below appeared on Stagecoach CNL dated 11 Oct 2024: "685 Carlisle - Newcastle: A revised timetable will be introduced to improve punctuality of this service. There will also be a minor route change around Melkridge. In addition, Sunday services will operate as through journeys to Newcastle rather than Hexham funded by Northumberland County Council. Updated timetable available to view soon." Wonder if they've got funding to advance some of the services to pre-covid frequencies. Well they can’t exactly cut much else from Hartlepool as they struggling to keep on time and buses full for some journeys as it is. Hopefully some more services although probably unlikely. This is deliberate to stop early running. RE: Stagecoach North East: Upcoming Service Changes - lewisparker1509 - 04 Nov 2024 Won't go into too much detail but I put in an email to Nexus regarding the 18 between Four Lane Ends and Walker last Sunday, and they replied saying the 18 is "not contracted by Nexus" and they "cannot investigate commercial services". Is this true or is it just Nexus staff either trying to treat people like they're stupid and take the heat off themselves or their staff genuinelly have no clue? And if they are paying for the 18 and lying about it, what would the best way to dispute this? One of things I hate most is liars, and I will fight with any liar to prove them wrong as it is imoral. I'm not trying to be spitefull or anything towards them and I hate to be an actual male Karen, but like I said, it's a different story when it comes to lying throught their teeth. I want to make 100% sure that me thinking the 18 is a Nexus paid service before I start playing the "you're a liar" card. Yeah it is a fully contracted service by Nexus. Whoever responded to your email is probably not lying deliberately - it's more likely that they just don't have a clue. I've found in the past Nexus staff are generally incompetent. RE: Stagecoach North East: Upcoming Service Changes - BusEnthusiast.com - 17 Nov 2024 Does anyone know if there are any service changes coming any time soon? I heard a rumour about changes for the end of January 2025. Nothing on VOSA yet although it would be too early. RE: Stagecoach North East: Upcoming Service Changes - Adrian - 17 Dec 2024 (17 Dec 2024, 6:51 pm)Michael wrote Heard a rumour that the E services frequencies will be increased using government funding. Which is laughable really, if that's the case. Everytime I see those services, they've heavy loadings in both directions. More so in the Summer of course. It's one of those services that could have been improved commercially, but where's the incentive to do that, when there's BSIP money to be spaffed. RE: Stagecoach North East: Upcoming Service Changes - Michael - 17 Dec 2024 (17 Dec 2024, 10:29 pm)Adrian wrote Which is laughable really, if that's the case. Summer loadings are daft, hence all the deckers out on them. I get the funding for winter but not for summer.. like you said, Stagecoach could use their own cash to improve it, even if it was only from Easter until September for example. RE: Stagecoach North East: Upcoming Service Changes - deanmachine - 18 Dec 2024 (17 Dec 2024, 11:38 pm)Michael wrote Summer loadings are daft, hence all the deckers out on them. I keep saying it, but if they really want to make a proper open top service, they need a direct route along the coast using only the open top buses during the summer. Call it the E3 and it'd relieve the other services from some of the tourism of people wanting to go to the beach. RE: Stagecoach North East: Upcoming Service Changes - DeltaMan - 19 Dec 2024 The E services are not recieving any BSIP money. The registration states no subsidy. https://www.vehicle-operator-licensing.service.gov.uk/search/find-registered-local-bus-services/details/629654/ RE: Stagecoach North East: Upcoming Service Changes - Economic505 - 19 Dec 2024 (19 Dec 2024, 6:40 am)DeltaMan wrote The E services are not recieving any BSIP money. The registration states no subsidy. The X24 is BSIP funded onna Sunday. However, on VOSA, this service says it is not supported by subsidy. Therefore, it’s possible that the E changes are BSIP.
