Monday to Friday morning journeys revised to operate slightly earlier, with afternoon journeys to operate slightly later. Stand time taken out of Pooley Road on all affected trips Monday to Saturday, installed into recovery time at Chapel House. 71 (72, 72A, 87) - Following discussions with Ward councillors and Nexus, Service 72/72A revised to operate via Stamfordham Road (Golf Course) and Hillhead Road towards Chapel House, omitting Hillhead Estate, in order to improve reliability. Services towards the City Centre will still operate their current route. There will be other minor reliability based changes to all routes, with Monday to Friday morning buses on all services generally operating slightly earlier until around 1000. 516 - Monday to Saturday service. Minor timetable changes to Monday - Saturday afternoon peak trips for improved on-time running. 960 - Revised timetable to pm journey into South Shields to improve reliabiliiy. Miscellaneous Works Contract. 23 - Minor intermediate timetable changes to provide additional reliability. E1/E2/E6 - Minor timetable changes to all services to improve reliability. ------------ So the E's staying the same, that now leaves 10 Yutongs spare - hopefully will be used on a local route - or having 10 a day in the depot is a waste of time and money. Wonder what the 18 change is around Grindon? RE: Stagecoach North East: Upcoming Service Changes - F114TML - 09 Jan 2025 All I can think of is they're changing the loop so it either avoids Chester Road or goes straight up Greenwood. You get 4 minutes to do the loop and often lose most of it at the roundabout outside the Hastings Hill, so you just play catch-up rest of it. Would make sense for it to go via Tay Road - Gleneagles road - Chester Road (Aldi) - Greenwood road then back on to Gleneagles road then on to Grindon lane in to Pennywell. No point using it since visiting hours are not till 2 and if you have an afternoon appointment you not going to get it at 9:30 to just sit about. It needs to really be 7 days a week and at the very least an hourly service up until 8:10PM departure from North Tees for anyone visiting. It's TVCA-supported as part of a scheme to trial and expand the network and identify areas that could do with links like this. Also you are actually missing the bigger picture here - while it is a new link to the Hospital, you're missing out the fact this reintroduces the long-gone link from Port Clarence to Billingham Town Centre - one that, for now at least, gives them an hour and 40 minutes there. Yes it’s all very well from that point of view but it’s just useless really if they are going to do this then it is better doing it properly not just because Stagecoach have a spare bus sitting about. If we on about TVCA wanting to improve the network and create new links then Hartlepool desperately needs some because at the moment as usual it’s just forgotten about. Totally agree. Hartlepool gets overlooked . It has a piss poor bus network. Completely agree with this - another example of what's wrong with our system, public money spent to fit the operational convenience of a private operator, not the actual needs of the public. I suspect we'll see this withdrawn due to low usage once the inital money has been wasted. It's mad that the funder would buy for a second the idea that there is potentially sufficient demand for a service one journey each way on four random days of the week, to somehow be sustainable. Yet no need other days or times. Truly bizarre. Can now confirm it is at the request of the councillors for Port Clarence - requesting a bus from there into Billingham. The private aspect is that Stagecoach can only currently provide an additional vehicle on those days of the week fitting round existing contracts. So in that case it’s better to put it out for tender and doing it properly then. If Stagecoach can not commit to it for at least 6 days as a proper service then really it should go to an operator who can do it even if it was Stockton Council doing it themselves. It’s not so much ‘Stagecoach can’t commit’ it’s that there is no money at present to fund it - the local councillor’s have raised the funds through projects with Stockton Council to fund it as a trial. Bearing in mind most usage will be Port Clarence to Billingham the timetable works for most shopping trips and is able to slot into current schedules efficiently! |
