RE: Go North East: Service Suggestions - dannygee - 07 Feb 2016 Sure they wont get rid of omnicities for them though on 19 RE: Go North East: Service Suggestions - dannygee - 07 Feb 2016 Heard that percy main could be getting all the 9 and would possibly work out as North shields- sunderland Sunderland-jarrow Jarrow-sunderland Sunderland-north shields. No too sure how they would do it time wise RE: Go North East: Service Suggestions - Michael - 07 Feb 2016 (07 Feb 2016, 9:36 pm)dannygee wrote Sure they wont get rid of omnicities for them though on 19 I'm in the same boat as you, i think they'll stay on the 19. Yep the need something with power on that route also comfy for passengers and reliability. RE: Go North East: Service Suggestions - biglugs@yahoo.com - 07 Feb 2016 4. peterlee-easington- hetton- -hougton- fence houses - shiney row - fatfield-washington - concord- heworth X6 peterlee-blackhall-hartlerpoool X20 south shields-cleadon-sunderland-east Herrington-doxford international-hougton-hetton-east rainton-belmont -Durham 4 replaces x35 peterlee to -hougton at every 30 mins hourly on Sunday X6 close numbers to 206 but express through to Hartlepool X20 hourly normal route to east Herrington then does the x35 to hetton to then replace service 168 to east rainton then limited stop to Durham RE: Go North East: Service Suggestions - James101 - 08 Feb 2016 (07 Feb 2016, 9:50 pm)biglugs@yahoo.com wrote 4. peterlee-easington- hetton- -hougton- fence houses - shiney row - fatfield-washington - concord- heworth RE 4: I can see the benefit of a Peterlee - Washington link, though this is fairly easy via a number of routes with a change now. I did like the extension of the X1 to Peterlee on evenings and Sundays way back in 2007 and later the 35. RE X6: Do you propose this as the existing X35 Coast Rd route or via Wingate & Hutton Henry as you mention the 206? RE X35: Would the X35 be kept Houghton - Sunderland only? No the x20 will be hourly and will replace service x35 -hougton to Sunderland RE: Go North East: Service Suggestions - biglugs@yahoo.com - 08 Feb 2016 In hetton a suggestion 265 seaham-dolton park- hetton le hole - east rainton- Durham city retail park -Durham 35 boldon- Sunderland - hougton-hetton downs ,-hetton le hole -low moorsley-durham city retail park.-durham This suggestion will see service 168 replaced hetton downs by 35 east rainton by 265 and easington lane by alternative buses. 265 kept hourly from east rainton its direct to Belmont 35 every 30 mins but hourly between Durham and moorsley RE: Go North East: Service Suggestions - Andreos1 - 08 Feb 2016 I had a thought yesterday that the 50 and 82 could integrate somewhere in addition to the changes to the 5. Having had a look at the timetables and fleet lists, I think this is do-able. Whether it fits in with rotas and other issues, I am not sure at this stage. 5243-46 would move from Percy Main as a result and will be replaced with the Eclipses from Riverside. 50 Stays as is on half hourly frequency. PVR 6. 50A Durham A167 Chester Birtley (follows old 551 route to make up for withdrawal of the 82/82A and then continues to Peel/Barmston Slip Road via 82 route via Westerhope Road/Barmston Centre. I have timed it going through Vigo and Barley Mow, but I am pretty sure the roads wouldn't be suitable for an Omni). Waterview Park Boldon Follows 5 route to Jarrow. PVR 4. The 50A would take some pressure away from the 21 on the southern section of the route and aid competition with the X12. I don't think the section around Waldridge warrants an increase in frequency to every 15 minutes. To ensure Rickleton has a connection to Washington following the withdrawal of the 82/82A, the 84 will be introduced. 84 Coach Road/Donwell Bus Link Concord Peel Retail Park Waskerley Road Biddick Galleries Lambton Harraton Rickleton Ayton PVR 2. RE: Go North East: Service Suggestions - cbma06 - 08 Feb 2016 (07 Feb 2016, 9:50 pm)biglugs@yahoo.com wrote 4. peterlee-easington- hetton- -hougton- fence houses - shiney row - fatfield-washington - concord- heworth the X20 idea has already been done before, GNE took it off due to it wasn't any quicker as it almost followed the 535 and 220 at the time, service 20 does it now following the proposed service suggestions around peterlee and Houghton areas, im just glad that there are not real suggestions as the bus company would be bankrupt. and more passengers will have to change buses a few times more to get to there destinations. RE: Go North East: Service Suggestions - James101 - 08 Feb 2016 Speaking about depots gaining runs..... Is there an argument for 2 diagrams of the X9/X10 being ran from Peterlee? I imagine the 05:10 and 05:27 from Gateshead can't carry any passengers southbound and are more positioning runs for the peak northbounds from Middlesbrough. If these first two departed from Peterlee instead, it would wipe out 50 miles based on two buses running from Riverside to Peterlee empty. I'm aware Peterlee is a low cost operation and Tyne Tees drivers (I think) are on an enhanced rate of pay but shifts could be organised so Peterlee drivers are taken off at the earliest opportunity and riverside drivers could have breaks in Peterlee. This would also allow two later departures from Newcastle at 21:15 and 22:15 to match the later departures Middlesbrough currently gets and Newcastle doesn't. RE: Go North East: Service Suggestions - cbma06 - 08 Feb 2016 (08 Feb 2016, 6:06 pm)James101 wrote Speaking about depots gaining runs..... l told the MD at GNE at the time when Arriva closed peterlee depot, that their should purchase the peterlee depot and take off the low cost unit for the depot, and have the X9/X10, peterlee locals (east durham buses at the time), X35, 60 and 61 services starting in the morning from peterlee and ending on the last journeys at peterlee and close Washington depot down and transfer the buses over to Deptford. I even sent an email to Arriva if there would consider negotiate a deal for the depot, and I got an email back from the management with details and also asked what my relation to GNE. But GNE just wanted to see what the fall out was for the bus services after the depot closed but Arriva ran the services from other depots in the region. RE: Go North East: Service Suggestions - biglugs@yahoo.com - 08 Feb 2016 Now may be long but X10 Newcastle-gateshead-heworth-east Herrington-sunderland - seaham -peterlee -direct to Norton - Stockton - Middlesbrough all in less than 2 hours Quicker than x12 PVR 4 6043-46 with 6047 as spare The x9 will remain the same at a pvr 4 6048--6071-6084 The interwork pattern X10 Newcastle to Middlesbrough 30 mins layover X9 Middlesbrough to Newcastle Then back on x10 The x7 will be PVR 2 and will allow 5333 to transfer to riverside to replace 6084 Then with the x10 Sunderland to Newcastle via east Herrington it can allow service x36 to ternamate at downhill Same pvr RE: Go North East: Service Suggestions - MurdnunoC - 08 Feb 2016 (08 Feb 2016, 6:43 pm)biglugs@yahoo.com wrote Now may be long but Why go via East Herrington on the way to Sunderland? I do like reading other peoples suggestions, some of these are quite good. I'm not saying people should stop suggesting routes.... The 9 needs better buses but nothing new, maybe the Scania's from the Prince Bishops? Does the 9 still need to use a decker during one of its runs?, if not, the whole route should be Scania once the Steetlites arrive. If people get left behind on the X66, the next bus is only moments away... I still think the X66 and S1 should interwork, meaning a frequent service around MetroCentre, of course two extra vehicles would need to be sourced to keep the service every few minutes.
