I think VOSA need 6 weeks notice for changes although I could be completely wrong. Stagecoach could of already sent more changes to them but they just aren't on the website yet. RE: Stagecoach North East: Upcoming Service Changes - V514DFT - 31 Mar 2025 With the 3 and 4 becoming end to end, then technically they could of canned the 18 aswell and replaced it with either/or then possibly extend the 12 to cover Biddick Hall? RE: Stagecoach North East: Upcoming Service Changes - Storx - 31 Mar 2025 (31 Mar 2025, 4:11 pm)V514DFT wrote With the 3 and 4 becoming end to end, then technically they could of canned the 18 aswell and replaced it with either/or then possibly extend the 12 to cover Biddick Hall? In fairness, you'd probably want to keep it. A bus every 7.5 minutes along Stanhope Road is probably deserved. Looking at timetables the 3 and 17 seem to pretty follow each other right now so it's pointless in a way since they go to same place pretty much, ignoring the issues with Laygate. RE: Stagecoach North East: Upcoming Service Changes - Youngymmv - 31 Mar 2025 So there is no east bound services to shields town centre from nevison Avenue as far as the nook. Could have routed the 4 back up that way in a reverse of its route then the 3 as per its new route covering the part of cancelled 17. Or maybe extend a few trips of the x34 to end in town centre RE: Stagecoach North East: Upcoming Service Changes - Storx - 31 Mar 2025 (31 Mar 2025, 5:32 pm)Youngymmv wrote So there is no east bound services to shields town centre from nevison Avenue as far as the nook. So it will terminate at biddick hall then not run back to shields, sure someone could draw us a map RE: Stagecoach North East: Upcoming Service Changes - Storx - 31 Mar 2025 (31 Mar 2025, 7:30 pm)Youngymmv wrote I’m so confused by this. So it will terminate at biddick hall then not run back to shields, sure someone could draw us a map Not terminate as such. The 3 will operate as it is from Shields to Whiteleas Bridge via Biddick Hall then go arpund Whiteleas same as 17. It will then go straight to Shields via the current 4 route down Boldon Lane and Stanhope Rd. The 4 will operate as it is from Shields to Biddick Hall but then return via same route via Ridgeway, Nook and Westoe Nevinson from top end by (what was) King George School and Holder House will lose its links to Boldon Lane etc. Unless you wait whole week to get the Sunday only GNE 25a which covers it. RE: Stagecoach North East: Upcoming Service Changes - Youngymmv - 31 Mar 2025 I see so it’s as I had originally suggested about the 4 returning the way it came between nevison Avenue and town centre. Many thanks for clarifying it for me RE: Stagecoach North East: Upcoming Service Changes - Retro Nero - 01 Apr 2025 Service Numbers will confuse some people, The current 3 goes from Biddick to the Nook, so for example, people will for the first few days automatically board the 3 to travel to the Nook RE: Stagecoach North East: Upcoming Service Changes - Storx - 01 Apr 2025 (01 Apr 2025, 7:43 am)Retro Nero wrote Service Numbers will confuse some people, The current 3 goes from Biddick to the Nook, so for example, people will for the first few days automatically board the 3 to travel to the Nook Agreed there probably better to number them the 9 and 19 tbh imo. The 19 doing the 3 side since it'll be combined with the 18 every 7.5 minutes and the 9 because it's free pretty much and serves similar areas to the 7/8/10/11 RE: Stagecoach North East: Upcoming Service Changes - V514DFT - 01 Apr 2025 (01 Apr 2025, 9:52 am)Storx wrote Agreed there probably better to number them the 9 and 19 tbh imo. RE: Stagecoach North East: Upcoming Service Changes - Aaron21 - 02 Apr 2025 (02 Apr 2025, 7:17 am)Retro Nero wrote I don't know why the 10 can't be the 10 on return journey, instead of 11 this is no longer a circular service ( long before Jarrow and North Shields and now Jarrow again) after all the 18 isn't the 19 on return from Brockley Whins. They do this due to the fact they have stops on the same side of the road. So both services use that stop. And it would be confusing to people have the number 10 to Jarrow have the 10 to South Shields as well. It's easier and I like it that way RE: Stagecoach North East: Upcoming Service Changes - Retro Nero - 02 Apr 2025 (02 Apr 2025, 9:14 am)Aaron21 wrote They do this due to the fact they have stops on the same side of the road. It's easier and I like it that way When the Northern ( Go North East) used to operate service 522 they used the same estates, Low Simonside and Hill Park and service 538 around Whiteleas and it worked fine for years ,same service number in both directions. Thats a good point tbf, didn't it stop being a circular when they merged it with the 13/14 RE: Stagecoach North East: Upcoming Service Changes - V514DFT - 02 Apr 2025 (02 Apr 2025, 9:14 am)Aaron21 wrote They do this due to the fact they have stops on the same side of the road. It's easier and I like it that way So it has to stay the 10/11 just because you like it that way, what a shite argument "they do this due to the fact they have stops on the same side of the road", okay so what about the 40/41 when that ran round Hadrian Park, or what about when Wallsend had 2 40's literally a bus stop apart, there's probably loads of other examples RE: Stagecoach North East: Upcoming Service Changes - F114TML - 02 Apr 2025 (02 Apr 2025, 3:41 pm)V514DFT wrote So it has to stay the 10/11 just because you like it that way, what a shite argument "they do this due to the fact they have stops on the same side of the road", okay so what about the 40/41 when that ran round Hadrian Park, or what about when Wallsend had 2 40's literally a bus stop apart, there's probably loads of other examples Dalton Park, Witherwack and Gilley Law are three places I can think of where buses serve the same stop in both directions. You could argue the likes of the 6 (Arriva), and 38 (SNE) do aswell since they've got different destinations on the same number. It's technically the same really. The 19 at Northumberland Park has 3. RE: Stagecoach North East: Upcoming Service Changes - V514DFT - 02 Apr 2025 Honestly has to be the most stupid arguments ive ever heard , so Stagecoach, you're not allowed to change the 10/11 to being just the 10 as Aaron likes it that way RE: Stagecoach North East: Upcoming Service Changes - Aaron21 - 03 Apr 2025 (02 Apr 2025, 9:33 pm)V514DFT wrote Honestly has to be the most stupid arguments ive ever heard , so Stagecoach, you're not allowed to change the 10/11 to being just the 10 as Aaron likes it that way Wow grow up. Never seen something more pathetic ever mentioned on this fourm. No need to put the blame. Half the stuff mentioning on here is pathetic as all hell. Grow up for once in your life. Why don't you go email stagecoach or join stagecoach yourself. Can't believe what your on about. I said one thing and then it started from there. Don't blame me. Grow up and act like a man once in your life RE: Stagecoach North East: Upcoming Service Changes - DaveFromUpNorth - 03 Apr 2025 (Yesterday, 2:01 pm)Aaron21 wrote Wow grow up. To us it's annoying. To regular passenger it's probably easier having a different number instead of the same one I can't believe I said this and everyone has simply decided to jump to the "that's stupid I know a route that does the same" Right okay congratulations. Its a fourm of discussion. Not for you to then decide to have a go at me all cause I said it's probably easier for passengers RE: Stagecoach North East: Upcoming Service Changes - Andreos1 - 03 Apr 2025 (Yesterday, 3:22 pm)Aaron21 wrote Imagine going this off cause I said something The Bolam Street turning circle at Teams had the 49 serving it in both directions too. The 649 before it and the 183 as well. I think they changed it to save time and to stop the confusion tbh. RE: Stagecoach North East: Upcoming Service Changes - Storx - 03 Apr 2025 (Yesterday, 3:22 pm)Aaron21 wrote Imagine going this off cause I said something Personally I'm not sure it does, it only benefits a minority of people who will understand how it works anyway as they're points where people don't really want to go. For everyone else it's confusing as hell. If I got the 57 to Whitley Bay for example, I'd expect to get the 57 back, not the 58 because it does a tiny loop somewhere. Just to pick somewhere like Teesside Park which also has a loop if you started doing the X12/X13 from Durham to Middlesbrough or 36/37/38/39/40/41 (or whatever) for the 36-38 series it'll soon turn a massive mess. It's just the same really. RE: Stagecoach North East: Upcoming Service Changes - V514DFT - 03 Apr 2025 Lol, he's telling me to grow up, riiiiiight, im not the one who got his knickers in a twist about the 10/11, how bout you have a little grow up, keyboard warrior, always a thing ive noticed with you, from way back with the whole GNE 42/42A nonsense, you start spouting dribble when you can't win an argument, or if its something that doesnt fit YOUR agenda, take a few weeks ago about the 352, getting angry about a service not going, I think you'll find YOU'RE the pathetic one, besides its not like the renumbering of the 10/11 is actually happening, was just people talking hypothetically RE: Stagecoach North East: Upcoming Service Changes - Aaron21 - 03 Apr 2025 (Yesterday, 6:06 pm)V514DFT wrote Lol, he's telling me to grow up, riiiiiight, im not the one who got his knickers in a twist about the 10/11, how bout you have a little grow up, keyboard warrior, always a thing ive noticed with you, from way back with the whole GNE 42/42A nonsense, you start spouting dribble when you can't win an argument, besides its not like its actually happening, was just people talking hypothetically I'm a keyboard warrior. You are the one who decided to call my name out and I'm the one that needs to grow up Wow bringing stuff up from years ago. Yea I need to grow up. I've never known anything like it.
