Blyth Depot - No Service - Storx - 21 Feb 2022 Just a heads up as information is a bit sparse there's no service at all from the Blyth depot atm as there's a power cut and according to Facebook the electric power shutters are jammed down. Probably not the best idea to have shutters which can't be overrode at all when there's no electric... You would think there be an option to manual open the shutters, I’ve got roller shutters on my garage and if there’s no electric it can be manually rolled up, it might take a little more time for the bus depot shutters though Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk RE: Blyth Depot - No Service - GNE6312 - 21 Feb 2022 (21 Feb 2022, 8:18 am)Storx wrote Just a heads up as information is a bit sparse there's no service at all from the Blyth depot atm as there's a power cut and according to Facebook the electric power shutters are jammed down. They should atkeast be trying to hire from other operators to run atleast somewhat of a,service on the Blyth routes. Amy idea on how long they recogn they'll be no service for? RE: Blyth Depot - No Service - MurdnunoC - 21 Feb 2022 Roller shutters should have a manual device which would allow operation in the event of a power failure: Regulation 18 of the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 1. Doors and gates shall be suitably constructed (including being fitted with any necessary safety devices). 2. Without prejudice to the generality of paragraph 1, doors and gates shall not comply with that paragraph unless: a. Any sliding door or gate has a device to prevent it coming off its track during use b. Any upward opening door or gate has a device to prevent it falling back c. Any powered door or gate has suitable and effective features to prevent it causing injury by trapping any person d. Where necessary for reasons of health or safety, any powered door or gate can be operated manually unless it opens automatically if the power fails e. Any door or gate which is capable of opening by being pushed from either side is of such a construction as to provide, when closed, a clear view of the space close to both sides. I'm guessing someone has either lost or misplaced the pole which is used to open the shutter in the event of a power failure. In fairness the hassle for it and getting the message out it probably wouldn't have been worth it for Blyth to Whitley Bay with the 309. Other than that everywhere is covered by another service where GNE competes (306, 51, 53, 54). Credit where it's due they've done a decent job at running buses dead allover the place to get the service back on track rather than just waiting for the bus to do it's runs which they could've easily done. Other than a board or two on the 308 it seems like everything is back to normal already. Just not one big enough to get a bus through. I think not putting anything on facebook until around 7 was not good at all. There are quite a few folk who travel on buses long before 7am. |
