Usually a mix of independents who are local but you usually get some from further afield, expect a few from Yorkshire given they run to York, some North West firms tend to appear too such as Spencer Graham Coaches, even had one or two from Scotland last year. During this time there will also be Rail Replacements in operation between Bishop Auckland and Eaglescliffe. There isn't normally any real notice of who is running them unless someone from a company claims to be doing them. LNER diversion route is up the Durham Coast Line. RE: Durham Station Works - omnicity4659 - 05 Jan 2023 First Travel Solutions (Lumo/TPE), Arriva Road Transport Services (CrossCountry/Northern) and Stagecoach Solutions (LNER) will get operators from anywhere in the country to assist. Arriva usually end up having to source vehicles from a lot further away. There was one weekend in autumn 2022 where Rail Replacements on multiple Northern services were cancelled at the last minute including parts of the North East owing to lack of willing operators with the weekend prior at least half in the NE were provided by Mario Coach Travel based in Burnley.
