It's almost as if they're intentionally putting the prices high so they can miraculously drop them when it opens. No way will the train cost £9 RTN from Ashington. It's only £6 from Saltburn to Middlesbrough which is a similar distance so expect the fares to be similar or £7 from Darlington to Middlesbrough. Even cheaper if you have a railcard. Adult and child return Morpeth to Newcastle only £5.45 with the railcard and only £4.35 Morpeth to Cramlington Return. RE: Changes to fares Arriva North East fares from 13th March 2023 - Unber43 - 03 Mar 2023 Do they even look at them. As it seems all Arriva pages are run by some office miles away. I complained about the Mcdonalds at the metrocentre retail park to the HQ. got £20 quid voucher and told it would get sorted. Baffles me how tickets that have low demand are withdrawn. Just promote it. Advertise it. Let people know about it. RE: Changes to fares Arriva North East fares from 13th March 2023 - Unber43 - 03 Mar 2023 Also what does it cost them to keep the routesavers on sale...low ticket sales seems a bit of a poor excuse tbh RE: Changes to fares Arriva North East fares from 13th March 2023 - BusLoverMum - 04 Mar 2023 (03 Mar 2023, 9:08 pm)Unber43 wrote Also what does it cost them to keep the routesavers on sale...low ticket sales seems a bit of a poor excuse tbhTime. There are so many ticketing options that drivers don't even know about half of them. Some will spend time looking for what you've asked for, not quite sure how to find it, others will insist that there is no such thing - see my comment about the X12 routesaver - I'd begun to suspect that it had been withdrawn long ago. Changes to fares Arriva North East fares from 13th March 2023 - tyresmoke - 04 Mar 2023 I’d imagine they probably want to try and cut down on ticket types where they can so an opportunity to take a few low selling ones out is probably one they’d take. There are far too many across the NE network! Its free real estate! In fairness, not really fair but still, the only reason that one and the three zone triple ticket have been scrapped is they've put the prices up that much it's more than the regionwide ticket (note the missing low demand part). Unless they keep the £2 fares permanently, there's going to be hell on about the price of both of those as they're a rip off especially Ashington as £9 for a return is not cheap by any metric. Arriva know these products won't last, but they will be reimbursed the difference anyway. They know what they are doing. Because the Vix is somewhat limiting, Stagecoach just have one button marked 'psgr list' which brings up a menu which shows every type of saver ticket you can sell, except the smartcard ones which have their own button. RE: Changes to fares Arriva North East fares from 13th March 2023 - tvd - 10 Mar 2023 I'm sure they do need to reduce the amount of weekly ticket types, but if they promoted some of them a bit more, people would know they exist. An example being the Whitby Town ticket. Surely you'd have some marketing material inside Whitby's Solos that are on the 95 every day, highlighting these tickets? Very easy to do, even if its just an A4 sheet that can soon be changed if prices change. There's plenty of other examples too. And what about the Explorer tickets - yes they're a multi operator ticket, but I've not seen any publicity about these on buses for years. It's almost as though they want to keep their existence hidden away. In fairness there's only 3 tickets withdrawn and I can't imagine there's many people who only use the X12 or travel exclusively in Alnwick or Whitby. They're all a bit limited. |
