Future of the 14x StreetLites (51/52/53/54/55) - L469 YVK - 18 Jun 2023
With there soon being 14x StreetLites available, could Arriva not move these to Ashington to wipe out the Solos / Pulsars for the 1, 2, 57, 57A?

57/57A - PVR 4x
- 2x spare and Euro 6 compliant should they be needed as a last resort on the Morpeth / Ashington 'X' routes.

They'll head to Darlington imo. See most the Ecocities off which are supposed to be getting sent to Runcorn or withdrawn.

Not sure they'll want Streetlites there as they're not ideal on the express routes. The ones they've got already are having big problems. Have a feeling they'll get released buses from Durham and Stockton and their own reductions.
It'll be interesting to see if the earliest Temsa's get withdrawn mind to act as Christmas trees for the newer ones as they're arguably next in line to go and there's going to be quite a fleet reduction coming.

There is no shortage. They just need to fix their vehicles. They have a higher spare % than anywhere else.

Durham move would allow withdrawal of the E200s or maybe Stockton because it has routes that are ideally suited to Streetlite operation (7,8,9,15 etc).

Wouldn't the be ideal to send off the pulsar elsewhere and lose some of the older non reliable tesma

To be fair the best thing they could do is get some of the 13 and all of the 63 Plate Pulsar's to Redcar and get them on the X2/X3/X4/X4A and get the Streetlite's off them as they're useless on them. Where for the Streetlite's is up for debate, could do the 63 maybe which is desperate for an upgrade or sent them to Stockton or Darlington either and displace Pulsar's there elsewhere.
It's doable as the 2 at Walkergate will be released with the 51-55 cuts, and the ones at Durham and Darlington each will both be potentially released with their respective cuts depending how many 13 plates are sent.
