But I am intrested in what the 56 could be. RE: November 2023 changes - Iamtheone8483748 - 21 Sep 2023 I don't think the 8 will be a cut, given it was only just reintroduced to be half-hourly not long ago. Given the way they seem to be keen to expand/improve services recently, I'd hope some may be increases to service RE: November 2023 changes - KingSlayerRBLX - 21 Sep 2023 Probably most of them will be time changes, especially the 20,20A,65 with Durham's Bus Station set to open. Could be wrong tho RE: November 2023 changes - Unber43 - 21 Sep 2023 65 should leave Durham at :30 later in the evening for better connections to the X10, if it was advertised it might work. 18:20/19:20/20:20 leave Newcastle, the 65 comes at 21:10, be home in 10 mins, so just over an hour travel time, and all for £3 both ways much cheaper than the trains. Really there isn't a lot to do in Newcastle after 7/8 everything shut unless you plan to go drinking November 2023 changes - Theboyle92 - 22 Sep 2023 I'm led to believe that on a night there will be an extra service (2A) alongside the current hourly 2 from the Galleries to Silksworth instead of the mini 2A Biddick's that are currently running (sometimes being missed out due to late running of the inbound 2). This will mean the 2s should have roughly 16min layover/recovery time at Washington hopefully improving running time also giving hollycarside a late service. Oh that's good, makes sense, if the mini 2A's are sometimes missed out. The 20 I'm sure is Langley Park Sunderland on the current registration. Also to note there's no 61A either. Oh, didn't even notice that! RE: November 2023 changes - V514DFT - 22 Sep 2023 Maybe the 20 is being split RE: November 2023 changes - ASX_Terranova - 22 Sep 2023 (22 Sep 2023, 8:51 am)Storx wrote I'm not sure whether there's more coming here but Langley Park appears to be left without a bus service. Is that because the 2A will be running to Silksworth, meaning the section though leechmere and grangetown will be covered by that. I wonder if the 8 changes are to do with the fact the 09:09 ex Washington and 13:15 ex sunderland don't run the full route. RE: November 2023 changes - Unber43 - 22 Sep 2023 Langley Park could be the return of the X20, giving it in November hopefully they will have say the 20 staff extra to run that service, and they still have the older great branded buses for the route...oh wait RE: November 2023 changes - deanmachine - 22 Sep 2023 (22 Sep 2023, 2:24 pm)Unber43 wrote Langley Park could be the return of the X20, giving it in November hopefully they will have say the 20 staff extra to run that service, and they still have the older great branded buses for the route...oh wait Seems a little bit short sighted to me if true, as on an evening it's going to have to interwork with a 20 as it is, better to just stay the same service all day. (22 Sep 2023, 3:49 pm)deanmachine wrote That's what I mean, it just seems a bit pointless to me to have it as two different routes depending on the time of the day. It would most likely be the same route number all day, every day, like how the Sunday journeys currently interwork with the 50 at Durham. Perhaps a similar scenario could be adopted like in pervious where I think it was the 35A that ran from Sunderland to Houghton-le-Spring on an evening and would then continue to South Hetton? as the X35 (and subsequent numbers since) as the same bus. Doubt the 20 would continue to run to Langley Park at night given it's been taken off the registration. X20 return is questionable as the 20A is still on the registration, unless the X20 would exist in some other form to previously. Imagine it's because there's not a bus needed through Ashbrooke anymore (Stagecoach 13 runs all day / night now) so will just be a normal 61 instead. Not sure if it's up for tender but wonder if it might interwork with the 725, if they can win it (or the 25 restored in full as it's a dumb split when both are subsidised anyway) - believe it should be coming up soonish but could be wrong there. But the 25/725 should be combined, they literally time perfectly with each other. Joining the 25 & 725 into one route again likely won't happen due to Nexus funding the 25 whilst DCC fund the 725 and that would require two local authorities to work together which often doesn't happen or is rather terribly executed. You never know, GNE could decide to take it on commercially and join the two together. As likely as NF being a master at employee relations, RF slagging the paintwork on the North Tyne network and RS shaving his beard off and wearing trousers. But we can hope. Wasn't sure it was up tbf. It's badly an area which needs work on though and all subsidised routes becoming under one body - infact we just need one transport body so we don't have problems like it anymore. It's even bizarrely timetabled to connect aswell which makes it even more of a farce. That nice extra 2 service, rumoured to be running, would fill the gap for a chunk of the route aswell. RE: November 2023 changes - Greg in Weardale - 26 Sep 2023 From next year Durham, Northumberland and the Tyne & Wear councils combine into one Mayoral authority which will have responsibility for transport, so we might see more logical planning (eg. 725 and 25 joined), but they may, unfortunately in my opinion, go for franchising, as in Manchester. We may be able to lean on sister companies and get some drivers if that happens. RE: November 2023 changes - Unber43 - 05 Oct 2023 any more news on these changes?
