Go-Ahead agrees 1,200 zero-emission bus deal with Wrightbus - Malarkey - 08 Oct 2024 Go-Ahead agrees 1,200 zero-emission bus deal with Wrightbus - https://www.route-one.net/news/go-ahead-agrees-1200-zero-emission-bus-deal-with-wrightbus/ The new deal will see new zero emission buses delivered over the next 3 years. First year deliveries will include 201 examples that are part-funded by the second round of the Zero Emission Bus Regional Areas scheme, with the remainder for that period for Go-Ahead London. Years two and three will be accounted for “predominantly” by London, a spokesperson says. Areas outside the capital that will benefit include East Yorkshire, Gloucestershire, the Isle of Wight, and Plymouth. For every bus built under the agreement between Go-Ahead and Wrightbus, the two parties will plant 10 trees in the towns and cities where those vehicles are deployed. Of course there is no mention of the North East getting anything from this deal that has been agreed. RE: Go-Ahead agrees 1,200 zero-emission bus deal with Wrightbus - BusLoverMum - 08 Oct 2024 Yay. More cascades for us, then. RE: Go-Ahead agrees 1,200 zero-emission bus deal with Wrightbus - Storx - 08 Oct 2024 Interesting to note that reading through the lines, not a single bus is being purchased commercially without tax payer handouts. We'll just have to wait and see what happens. Going off of information from an article from Route One Magazine Zebra 2 from March 2024 is that Zebra 2 was to bring 201 buses to Go-Ahead Group with confirmed numbers being that Go South West’s Plymouth CityBus, and Go Cornwall Bus operators will share 50 buses thanks to £28.5 million of investment. Further along the coast, Southern Vectis and Salisbury Reds will add 45 zero-emission buses to their fleets. The operator’s Metrobus will fleet in Crawley will be boosted by 43 vehicles, while 16 will go to Brighton & Hove Buses. Newly acquired Pulham’s Coaches will receive 15 buses at its Bourton-on-the-Water depot. Thanks to a joint bid between Hull City and East Riding of Yorkshire Council, East Yorkshire Buses will introduce 21 zero-emission buses. With what is stated above that totals 190 of 201 accounted for with x11 I believe to be for Go North East not mentioned, further to that The Go-Ahead Group/Go North East have not yet confirmed what has been ordered under funds awarded via Zebra 2 funds that were an allocated amount of £7.4m to Transport North East for 43 Buses, I wonder what the hold up is when other local authorities across the country have since confirmed what they are ordering, we are now 7 months down the line since these funds were allocated and not a peep for the local authority or the operator who is due to receive these new buses. And quite right too. If the government wants everybody to go "net zero", stump up the money to help the change. They are changing the status quo, and that costs. Like the Newcastle CAZ zone and the grants for that. If Ed Miliband forced me to have a heat pump, he can pay for it.
