American Airlines Flight 5342 (PSA Airlines)

Very sad news coming out of DCA (Ronald Reagan Airport) with a ERJ-145 and a Blackhawk Helicopter colliding seconds after ATC instructed flight 5342 from Wichita Kanas, to change runways and land on runway 33 (shortest runway at DCA) commonly used for Embraer Jets.

With these events the response was quick and urgent however it was soon seen as a recovery incident not a rescue operation, with ambulance staying unmoved for hours as the search went on. Companies, People, Groups give there thoughts to the incident. However one man was more focused on the blame of Biden, Obama, Butigeig, Diversity, not the cuts he just forced through within his first 10 days in office (this is going to be a long 4 years), incuding marching out a senior office in FAA as he had fined SpaceX in the years previous, or the firing of 100 safety personal.

Just coming out that the DCA ATC Tower only had 1 operator missing two more, was this down to the cuts which Trump imposed (Ofc not, nothings his fault its anyone else)

Very Sad day for America, the deadliest crash in over 20 years, its a time to come together but not to blame, or suggest conspiracy theories.

So lets, let the NTSB do its job and hope it never happens again. 67 PEOPLE DIED they were everyone's VIP.

Plane mapping

I can't sleep and I was checking over the train mapping thread. The initial plan was to knock up some sort of map, to see if there were any patterns or trends.

I think I've kept mine up to date incase I (or anyone else, I'm not precious) decide to actually do the map.

Anyway, it got me thinking about ferry and plane mapping and if there were any similar trends.

Thomas Cook UK Plc and the wider UK business has entered insolvency.

The UK business has ceased trading with immediate effect and all future flights and holidays are cancelled.

A dedicated support service is being provided by The Civil Aviation Authority to assist customers currently overseas and those in the UK with future bookings.

Good and bad foreign airports

Just returned from Barcelona and I disliked the airport. With it being one of western Europes busiest a shed with one food place and two shops plus no place to charge your phone is pretty poor, though appreciate terminal 2A, B or 1 may be better than T2C where I was. Some other bad places I have experienced are:
Zante-Nothing other than a sweaty, hot shed with a duty free shop and A cafe with faeces on the walls in the toilets
Heraklion-Just a bigger Zante
Barcelona T2C-For the reasons mentioned above
Sharm-el-Sheikh-Not much seating, very overcrowded and the food places are dodgy with the Chicken burger I ordered looking very like turkey... Though I appreciate this is T2 and T1 looks to be better

There are some places I as impressed by though, such as:
Antalya T2-Big airport that had te right amount of capacity. It is modern and has a lot of food places and a lot of shops. The only irritation was the day I was there, it rained which is abnormal for August and the smoking area was open top, so some areas flooded a bit.
Singapore Changi-Been voted best airport in the world by Skytrax. It has a butterfly garden, it has a river, it has showers and it has lots of facilities such as restaurants and shops.
Heathrow T5-Lots of food places with lots of shops plus two extra buildings. The only downside is the lack of fast food.
