(29 Jun 2015, 8:58 am)Tommy_1581 Metro to bus rally is only 15 minutes, but if you're fit it's 10 minutes.

https://www.google.co.uk/maps/dir/Whitle...2?hl=en-gb

Far easier to get the bus though, e.g

309 - 42 minutes approx.
Metro - 24 minutes to Haymarket + 15 minutes walk approx = 39 minutes.

So not much different, and the bus saves you walking.

Traveline has brought up using the 309, being GNE and requiring a key card to get child fares and not knowing how much adult fares are, wants me want to use Metro for £1.20.

Arriva 308 is 80p for a child fare, under 16.

Would the 308 be at Haymarket for the X22's arrival? I don't do waiting for 15+ minutes.

No it wouldn't, you'd have a 27 minute wait. Unless the 308 departs late.

What would be easier;
X1 Wrekenton - Newcastle then 308/ 309 to Whitley Bay
Or
1 Wrekenton straight through to Whitley Bay

For you would be 1 as it saves you change buses for me Metro all the way there without changing trains then walking it my train usually would say St James via The Coast or St James via Newcastle only bits of walking I'll be doing is from my house to metro then from Whitley bay to car park and thus a little daily exercise all the way

I've travelled on an ominicity loads of times on 1 and other routes plus it saves you cash if you don't change in Newcastle eg my advice would be is squeeze every penny as you can eg for me when I get the metro this Sunday it will save me the hassle of using 3 ways to get to Whitley bay 27 or 88 then 9 and 1 but for metro saves me a ton of cash as its on the line anyways

Not much chance of a dual door renown, but I've saw a couple of red Omnicities on Sunday.

Might be lucky and get a B9TL too. I don't think the PVR of the 1 is much lower on Sundays than it is during the week, which is why you see spares on there on Sundays.
