If it is correct, and Toonlink Omnicities are to be used on X30/X31,  I wonder if Stanley will start to operate the new 12/12A to Winlaton, by interworking at Eldon Square as these will not serve Metrocentre for driver changes.

To compensate Riverside depot, they could takeover the Redkite 45/46 to Consett, allowing changeovers at Metrocentre, thus saving on staff buses to/from Consett.

(02 Oct 2015, 10:26 pm)Malarkey Still there on Page 6.

Durham Diamond branding looks fantastic I have to say, in regards to the Northern 6 I am going predict that it will use a few Cobalt Clipper B9s if the 309/310 end up with StreetDecks in the near future.

Well, unless some dealer stock B9s can be whipped up from somewhere, it's either got to be the Red Arrows or the Cobalt Clipper where the cascades not only for this service, but the X21 are going to come from.  And to be honest, since 6104 has returned to service, a Fab 56 B9 has been sent but not a Cobalt Clipper one for the mods (to my knowledge). And looking at the business case, GNE won't save any fuel buying E400MMCs for the X1 and I don't think that they would chance a Streetdeck on the X1 either. And of course, I do think that the X21 will need power sockets too owing to Arriva's MAX X12.

More of an order prediction but was merely replying to a post in this topic.

So looking at the 'Northern' brand has it not occurred to anyone else to zoom in on it. It's says Northern V2 (version 2) which logically makes sense. This isn't a new brand just a new update of the standard northern livery, because if you zoom again it has similar styling to what has been put on the solar Dan showed us this week or last. I think this northern livery is the new one to be rolled out on all the repainted buses and it's just a coincidence that it's used a B9 in the livery net. Just my feelings towards it.

As much as i love this discussion, the B9s will probably not be replaced on any route for a bit yet. There is no reason to.

Same here, tbh, the only other service with B9's which could be upgraded to include plugs etc is the "Red Arrows" but i'm not sure they'll replace the ones on their yet... although they replaced the Versa's on the Saltwell Park after 4 years i think with the current Streetlites... think they did the same with the Drifter Versa's to.

-------------

Does anyone know when 6129/6132 will enter service as:

6129 has being repainted in to "Go North East".
6132 has had its seats re-trimmed, only needs repainting.

It also looks like GNE are only re-trimming the seats from the 04 reg plates ones to.

^^^^^

Above info is from our own fleet list =)

Thats correct, yes. The ex-Drifter Versas are part of the same batch as the former Saltwell Park versas

I wonder whether the New Northern 6 - will be operated using the current Red Omnideckers, with the New Northern vinyls added.
(I'm sure Dan did mention recently, that the current Omnideckers were painted not that long ago, so would be unlikely to be re-painted again quite so soon)

I'm not saying they aren't getting New/Newer Vehicles for the New Northern 6 route, but might this be the plan for now?

Also as for the Omnicities on the ToonLink, are there enough Red or other Omnicities around to paint Black to meet the PVR of the New ToonLink X30, X31, X32 services.

I can't see them interworking much with the current ToonLink brand, as the Vinyl destinations along the side of the vehicles would be wrong - eg: current ones show = Blackhall Mill - Crawcrook - Winlaton - Blaydon - Newcastle, where as the New ones will need to show destinations for the New Routes = eg: Stanley - Sinniside - Whickham - Newcastle.

I suppose they may only need enough for the PVR of the X30 & X31, as has already been mentioned with the X32 only running at peak times, that will probably be operated by Red spare vehicles.
Abit like the current 11A service Prudhoe - Newcastle, only peak time runnings - Morning journeys to Newcastle are usually operated by X66 branded Streetlites, whereas the evening return journey is operated by a mix of single & Double decker Red vehicles.

The thing that made it more annoying was the NSA screen saying that there was free WiFi available, that may be true but I certainly wasn't getting any!

I've often wondered how the free WiFi and power sockets are 'worked' on the bus. Does the driver switch them on or is it automatic. There is normally a daily occurrence for me when either the WiFi or the power sockets aren't working and I've thought maybe the driver hasn't 'flicked a switch'

So therefore. If the sockets aren't working it is simply due to the driver not switching them on. As for WiFi not working obviously as the bus is moving then the ignition is on so in that case it will be fault?
