(11 Oct 2015, 6:34 pm)Dan Younger vehicles have a higher book value than older vehicles. If the "Fab Fifty Seven" branded Volvo B10BLEs still have quite a high book value, they will need to remain in the fleet beyond this year, and they will also have the cost of the DDA modifications to cover too.
I believe there's a substantial difference between those Scania OmniDekkas new in 2003 and those new in 2004, which perhaps explains why the latter examples are also being re-trimmed, as they'll have to spend longer in the fleet to depreciate the entire book value.

(11 Oct 2015, 7:34 pm)Dan What's rattled your cage, haha? I'm not sure when I said that, mind..! Regardless of who said it originally, I think you're pulling the wrong person for being guilty of that?
I was wanting to know how it was more complicated, when buses aren't typically disposed of (unless they're being sold on within the group) if they haven't fully depreciated and the vehicle still has quite a large book value... Basic accountancy!

There would have been a logic to making the 12/12A Blaydon Racers as it shares the routes around Blaydon / Winlaton with the 49/49A, using the five "spare" Citaros now believed to be going to the 57; the Omnicities for the 12 going to the 57 instead. There is no common factor between the 12/12A and the X30/31 to be in the same brand.

(11 Oct 2015, 9:23 pm)Michael I think the brand suits both routes although i think the X35 deserves better buses now, which will make the brand have 2 sets of buses... which we know GNE are not keen on... i'm not sure how well the X36 does since it changed.
