It's actually MH07 not KH Adam, can see why as the number plate has gone a bit fuzzy on the photo

Was on a rare jaunt onto the 23 Washington - Barley Mow today
RE: Stanley Travel
Not sure if it is on the same diagram, but a Stanley Travel bus (it was Kingsleys for a period) work a scholars to one of the Primary Schools in Houghton le Spring.

I think both Kingsleys and Arriva have had the 968 contract recently.

Just a thought here I could be wrong that these all interwork.

Morning 968 Easington Lane - Waterview Park
Morning Scholars 452
Then onto the 23 all day
Then finally operating the Evening 968 Waterview Park - Easington Lane

Obviously the Afternoon 452 would have to be operated using either another bus or by another Company. Also we'd have to work out the timings.

968 Easington Lane - Waterwiew Park
Leaves the Lane at 0710 and get to Waterview Park at 0756

23 Washington - Birtley
Starts at 0812 in Birtley operating a 5 minute Journey to Lansbury Drive.
Then 08:24/54 from Barley Mow to Lansbury Drive
First 23 from Washington Galleries is 1013 to Barley Mow
First 23 to Washington Galleries from Birtley is 0924

Until

Last one from Barley Mow to Washington is 1524
Last one from Washington to Barley Mow is 1613

968 from Waterview to Easington Lane starts at 16:37

It may interwork on the Morning but not afternoon, as there could be more than one Nexus Solo, i'm quite confused.

I don't think it interconnects with the 23. I saw both vehicles operating it on it today. One was the Nexus Alexander Dennis MPD, whilst the other was the Plaxton MPD in normal fleet livery.

I sure Stanley inherited two Nexus Solos from Connect when they ceased trading.

Only took on the short one - the longer one Connect used on their 73 was returned to Optare and is now with Hatch Green Coaches in Somerset.
RE: Stanley Travel
Enviro 200 in company livery working the 452 this morning if anyone is wanting to check out or solve the riddle of whether it interworks with the 23 and/or 968
RE: Stanley Travel
Yes I am, it is now carrying a white version of Shearings Holidays livery.
Also of note is a number of new vehicles due next month from Plaxtons, unsure of how many but likely to be 2 or 3.
RE: Stanley Travel
The mystery may be solved re the 23/452/968 and whether they interwork or not...

The Enviro was heading down past Batleys (presumably from the depot) marked 452 Scholars service.

When this run ends, it more than likely runs onto a 968 (not much dead mileage) - meaning the 23 may not interwork at all with them.

Stanley's bus on the 23 today was Alexander Dennis MPD OO05 STX, so more or less confirms what you're saying Smile

RE: Stanley Travel
Stanley are operating Van Hool T917 Astron M111DPC on behalf of David Palmer on Palmer Select holidays. This is in addition to smaller M222DPC which is a simple VDL SB4000 with T9 body. M111 is apparently mainly based around Wetherby as it works out of North Yorkshire on tours, saw it at Wetherby last night.

They've took it over from Arriva for four weeks?

I'm guessing this is some extra journeys that can't be provided by Arriva?
Or are they extending the 40 Cathedral Bus to run on Sundays?

This is just a one day extra park and ride for the Durham Christmas market that is on this weekend. It will run on Saturday 7th only.
Worth visiting if you're after coach photos, often over 100 coaches visiting from all round the country!
