I know you're normally meant to run the cover shift on time but maybe it might have been better to cover the next trip this time....
The 1715 17a from Middlesbrough left there 27 minutes late. It should work the 1803 return from Stockton. It arrived in Stockton at 1823 and was sent light to Middlesbrough ready to work the 1850 27 to Netherfields.
And now 1444 is running that 1803 17a - 32 minutes or so late. To me, it would have made more sense to have the leading driver go and cover that 27 and have the guy on the 17a run the return trip on the 17a and pick his shift back up at 1935 for his 17.
Then again, Arriva and Logic....

Enthusiasts suggesting how to run a bus company again......just what we all need.

I agree! If only people had half an idea what was going on behind the scenes.
Mind if we had a radio system this could have been organised better!
Waiting for drivers to ring the leading driver there's not a lot that could be done! Hey at least it ran though, some people are never happy.
Well the 22 that we're leaving Durham on 10 minutes late had been in the station since before 3.
The bus might have been on time, but the poor rushed driver wasn't!
Despite the interworking, I'm on a 22 leaving Durham 20 minutes late. They've all been a lilate, today. I guess the 24 is getting held up by the roadworks in Peterlee.
Delightful phone conversation at back. Could describe it as a wee falling out.

Had two 'events' on a recent trip.
The first one was a lad walking a lass to the bus stop, who blatantly fancied her and walked off home, saying his goodbyes. He then came back and asked her on a date to some event.
The look on the lasses face said it all and I had to bite my lip to stop laughing. She made some excuse about needing to be there early to help set something up. It didn't put our Romeo off though, who wouldn't take no for an answer and said he would pick her up earlier, so she could do both.
He scuttled off and the poor lass was mortified, but managed to text/ring her mates and share the bad news.
Later that day, a lass was in tears at a stop after her fella dumped her.
They needed to carry on the journey together with living in the sticks and not a word was said. She looked distraught and he looked sick.
They got off well in to the journey and in to a waiting car, presumably to take them on the next leg of their journey home.
I was bristling at all the effing and blinding, at first, but the person called her back after she hung up - she listed all the ways he was abusing her and told him nothing was up for discussion, then told him it was over. Told the driver when she got off that she'd just dumped her partner of 25 years. I was ready to cheer for her at that point. Hopefully she keeps her resolve.

Without knowing the situation she has found herself in, it is a shame, as they normally go full circle, I will never forget years knowing a bloke who treat his no better than a dog, despite me only being 14 and him 28, while he never hurt me physically, he had a hold over me to the point I nearly died for him...But thats another story for another time and in another place

Gonna be fun and games for me getting home from Durham Bus Station.

Shame I didn't see this sooner - if I had I'd have said get the 1800 X12 to Middlesbrough and then get the 1925 X66 to North Road to connect with something to Aycliffe that way. That X66 will be more-or-less on time given it works off Middlesbrough locals.

I'll have only been in Low Fell on the X21 at 18:00, so that wouldn't have been possible anyway. An hour later, yes.
Fortunately 1479 has been scrambled from somewhere to operate the 7 so realistically I have only left Durham 15 minutes late, although goodness knows which working this is on.
Roadworks in Darlington seems to be a major contributing factor to these delays as I also noticed the 5/5A and 8 running significantly late. The 7 has additionally had to contend with an incident by the Cock o' the North, guessing the road had been closed earlier as GNE posted that the X21 was running via the evening and Sunday route, the road is open now but there was a car being towed away when I went past on 1479.

Glad we returned home early and missed all that (Today's outing was Yarm > Stockton > Darlo> Bishop > Durham > Home, with lots of walking in between)

You'll have missed it because you didn't head where the roadworks are which are in the Harrowgate Hill area. There was a service 8 running around 65 minutes late at the same time that I posted the screenshot of the 7 running 88 minutes late.
Three weeks, these works are going on for... [emoji19]

Aye. The 1 was pretty punctual (despite a wait in Shildon while a young lad retrieved his phone from a bench!) and the 6 arrived in Durham long before whatever happened at Cock o the North caused its chaos.
Are there issues today? Been out in the car across the region today and traffic seems really light.
However, I have just seen three 4's in tandem heading towards Houghton (one had blanked off) and two 20A's Shields bound.

There's a perk to these #purplestreetlites after all, eh, Andreos!
Can't guarantee the same fate if you try it out though...!

Looks like they had to turn the bus round on a section of dual carriageway - that can't have been easy!
