Top notch allocations there from Blyth, as always Wink X10 customers would have been buzzing with 7475...

Well, the B5LHs are never ever off route, apparently... Smile

7475 was on X10/11 on Saturday as well and was comfortable enough for the whole journey, still smart inside.

Also 2836 has been parked up in Faverdale's dead row for quite a few weeks now. 1767 has been on a lift in the workshop for the last 2 or 3 weeks - possibly having its engine replaced by the look of it.

How long does it take to change an engine? Huh

Have they sent the engine back to Cummins for overhaul?

It can't be a warranty job (unless it was a recent new engine).

Engine overhauls in-house can take months...

What's wrong with 2836? 2835 works just fine...

Mind you, most of the Solo's in Darlington are sounding very, very unhealthy at the moment, even the 16xx darts are sounding healthier!!

Should have their GBF stripped! Once in a blue moon is understandable but on frequent occasions, it's absolutely not!

The DfT claim they don't know about it!

If anything did happen, would Arriva get told off, or would it be the depot?
(26 Aug 2014, 8:30 pm)mb134 wrote [ -> ]If anything did happen, would Arriva get told off, or would it be the depot?

It's Arriva North East has an operator that is ultimately responsible. Maybe further down the chain, it's the depot taking the piss with allocations, but for far too long ANE have seemingly not managed the depot's management team.

I've said before - it's the management team that run the company. Not individual depots.

I do think Blyth need sorting out like, fair enough to keep services on time, but when you're allocating buses that you didn't buy on services that they weren't bought for its far too far

The Solos have gone through a program of fitting e-fans to them, which make them sound very different from normal. Has cut fuel consumption by around 20% I believe.

Ahh right that makes sense, so is 2836 receiving this E-Fan?

Impressive... GNE were quoted 10%.

It doesn't require a bus to be VOR for a long period of time.
1901 on 6s

I wonder why they get badly allocated? I know that they do it to keep to time but I heard from drivers last year that they were too slow for the 308 and needed something doing to them.
Whitbys park and ride had a visitor today in the shape of 7494 before it replaced 4712 on the X93

Pretty standard practice these days as Solos can't cope. 7485 was on 81s yesterday too

In what way can they not cope?

The passenger loadings are too large for a Solo.
7613 on the 308

Can't agree more - why brand something MAX and then put it on any service!
1214 is on the X22

Is it bad of me to want this rather than an E400 on my journey later on...

No, I'd be very happy to see one turn up and at least it has Wi-Fi and much more comfortable coach seats.
