Hasn't it just been getting parts off 33488?!

As that movement has taken place this week, it will show on the Next Fleet Card & the next Fleet List, as will the previously mentioned movement/withdrawal of 33492. & then there were 2 (33101 & 33491).

Looks like I won't be travelling on the 17/18 as much now Tongue.

Mainly the radiator off 488 and a few bits and pieces but that's it. Quite a shock when I found out but it's all down to chassis I believe from what I've been told at depot.

You'll still have 33101 on there. That's all it's ever on now anyway unless it's spare.

Has 33492 been withdrawn from service at south shields or not it is standing in the grave yard. 22456 is also still here getting its Engine repaired. Where is 33491 have not seen it for a while. Regards Robin

Anyone know if any of the other ALX300s are back in service in Sunderland as a result of these latest moves? 20 withdrawals (22172/90, 22214/15, 22467/86/87/88/89/95, 22727-36) seems a bit excessive to be replaced by just 17 gas buses?

33492 was removed from service a couple of days ago

To add to stagecoachbusdepot question,
These will probables be withdrawn by end of May when the next 23 enter service.

Leaving Sunderland with only 22072-22082 and the rest either Enviro and Gas?
(05 Apr 2014, 9:10 am)Richard Smiles wrote [ -> ]On the current Allocation Card Michael, there are 27 ALX 300s in service at Sunderland. 23 of these will be replaced by GAS buses.

I suspect some of the 22072-22082 batch may ? transfer to Slatyford

Might do, i was thinking about extra spares, the darts will also become free from Sunderland to go else where.
(05 Apr 2014, 9:22 am)Richard Smiles wrote [ -> ]There are still quite a few buses to upgrade at Stockton too Michael

We have around 50 non-DDA compliant vehicles to get rid of in the next Couple of years. The 25 New ones for Stockton will certainly help.
But that still leaves around another 15 Single Deckers & we still have 4 R Reg Volvo Olympian Double Deckers & the 6 Tridents from Hull to replace as ironically these are NOT DDA Compliant either.

Oh right i really thought the tridents from Hull were DDA compliant
(05 Apr 2014, 9:45 am)Richard Smiles wrote [ -> ]No Michael, the Hull Tridents are NOT DDA Compliant.

We only really have Double Deckers at Stockton for the MacMillan Academy Contract (Services 301-308), which use 8 Double Deckers, then we have a couple of spares.

Though the Double Deckers are used on other services, they are in the main for the 301-308.

They should be replaced next then along with the rest.

Do you think Stagecoach NE will be all DDA by end of 2016?
(05 Apr 2014, 10:02 am)Richard Smiles wrote [ -> ]I would think so, there are 12 non DDA Compliant ALX 300s at Slatyford that need to be replaced, the 50 odd at Stockton of which 25 of those will go this year with the arrival of the 25 E300s for Stockton, which incidently will be fitted with Stagecoach Wifi.

So if Stagecoach North East get a good New Order in for next year 2015/2016, more than likely it will be 100% DDA compliant.

As regards the Double Deckers, probably some midlife E400s, possibly from Manchester or Younger ALX 400 Trident Cast Offs from elsewhere.

I don't think there has been a Green Bus Funding Round for 2014/2015 as that could an opportunity to order more GAS Buses for the North East.

That's a added bonus that they're getting WIFI.

I do hope the green bus fund happens for 2014/2015... good opportunity to get more gas buses for Sunderland because they want to make Sunderland 100%

This is a good idea because then the Envrio's can help get rid of more of the non DDA buses as there is 41 at Sunderland

Unless 22196 has come off very recently, it was still operational at Sunderland (despite what the fleet lists said). The question remains, have the 17 gas buses really led to the withdrawal of 20 (or 21 if you include 22196) MANs on the ground (rather than on paper) – as ousting an additional 3 or 4 vehicles would be very unusual?

As I stated previously, yes 33492 has been withdrawn due to broken chassis

Quick question, do you know which part of the depot is the graveyard?
The area out side the depot where the wash used to be before it was moved to the other side near the metro line after the depot was rebuilt. Regards Robin

You are 100% guaranteed to have backed a Winner!! & made a fortune, irrespective of how much you decide to bet. Somebody needs to go to Specsavers, though other Opticians are available.

This reminds me of that Joe Pasquale hit song.

PS. I know exactly where 33491 is - Thanks

I had £10 on it, i know where 33491 is to Smile

Have u not being reading the posts?
From Richard on the 31.3.14....

(31 Mar 2014, 6:30 pm)Richard Smiles wrote [ -> ]I note that the vehicle orders for Stagecoach North East has increased from 48 vehicles by 3 to 51. At least two of the additional vehicles are those previously mentioned by MrNut85 i.e Two New Enviro 200s for South Shields, which are expected to be delivered in July.

As it currently stands (though subject to change of course), these will carry Fleet No.s 37143 & 37144.

I am still trying to establish what the 51st vehicle is & for which Depot but, I do have one or two theories.

Sooooooo for the 100th time!

23 - Gas buses for Sunderland for Services 3 and 13 - as Richard pointed out should start to arrive in 5/6 weeks
25 E300's for Stockton
2 E200's for Shields - July
1 Mystery bus

They are the only orders so far for SC NE

I do know my facts, your correct the bus is outside but that is not the graveyard, the graveyard is the area next to the metro line, I know this as I have worked at this depot for the last 11 and a half years. 33492 is stored on what is called the washer bank due to it being where the old bus wash was as well as it still having the steam cleaning equipment and steam cleaning pit.
Called the men in white coats to say everything is fine now. Tongue

Forgive me if this has been asked already but are South Shields getting any new buses?
